Hey guys, I need some help here. I am trying to install Xposed on android 5.1.1, I know that it is sdk22 on an x86 processor. However, I want to ask if I should get the V86 or V88 framework. @rovo89
Thanks.

What you should grab is the "xposed-v89-sdk22-x86.zip" file from the following link.
http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk22/x86/
The various V##'s are only to indicate the versions for the releases. In another way... It's simply the higher the version means that it's the more updated releases.
Once you flash the XPosed Framework (above), be sure to download and install the XposedInstaller app "XposedInstaller_3.1.5.apk" that's attached (at the bottom) of the OP within the following thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
After you install the Apk, and launch it, you may have to restart your device once (or twice) before the app can activate the Framework Binaries.
Good Luck!

I'm not OP, but that link for the apk does not work.

This post aims to get direct xposed support for the eternal Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running on Dark Wolf ROM under Android 6.0.1. If it's okay, Xposed DEVS are requested to post here the updates and news about the necessary support to avoid boot loop and adverse issues brought about by Xposed version mismatch. Feel free to post! :victory:
Same thing .... searching for the xposed for darkwolf 6.0.1 and i tried the xposed version ended with a bootloop.
any news about it?
Yes i'm running Dark Wolf rom Android 6.0.1 for my Samsung Note 3 SM-N9005, i try to install the updated exposed installed already, after flash the xposed-v86-sdk23-arm.zip. file, my phone just stuck boot, can't running , any solution to fix it ? After uninstall then come back to normal....
For those reporting bootloops. Samsung phone with touchwiz ROM will bootloop with the official xPosed. Please fully read the original post

If darkwolf is indeed touchwiz you need to use the unofficial wanam build

I have a Huawei Ascend Y330 U11. I have rooted my phone using Kingroot app. My device works on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. And it has Emotion UI 2.0 . I actually rooted it on the pretext of flashing a custom ROM. Then after rooting I found out that there was no Custom ROM for this model and I couldn't even find a custom recovery (CWM/TWRP) for this device.
Then I heard of Xposed Framework and decided to try it out. But after installing the installer, when u try to install, it tells me that it can't copy app_process to system/bin as it already exists. And yes, I saw that it already exists in the folder. And since I don't have a custom recovery, I can't even try flashing it on recovery. And I badly want to use Xposed. Please help.
Thanks in advance.

This page provides less information than the XDA threads, is not directly connected to the developers of xPosed, and likely are distributing without rovo/wanam/arter permission. They selfhost the files which, to me, reeks of selfishness, at best, or malicious practices, at worst.
Exactly what knowledge did you gain from it that wasn't provided here at the official source?

Hi
Is there anywhere to get installable versions of the lineage stock apps without using lineage OS? I like some of their app versions but I prefer to keep my daily driver phone on the stock ROM for now.
Thanks

The following APKMirror link is to all the LineageOS apps.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/lineageos/
That website is a very reputable place also.

It's a very good place for obtaining these types of apps as well as apps from the Google Play Store (the non-paid ones of course) for those who are unable to obtain them via the Play Store app.
I do know that there's an Unofficial APKMirror app on the forum (there's no Official one released at this time).
EDIT: The following thread is the one for the Unofficial APKMirror app...

Hi,
I upgraded LOS15 to LOS16.0 [Android 9.0]. All works flawless, except the app: Polarsteps - Travel tracker became suddently incompatible. The app does not even show up in the google play store, when i search the app in my browser play store it states i don't have compatible devices.
From recovery, after installing the nightly, i installed [email protected] maybe i should have used a different than nano? If so which and is it still possible without having to wipe and reinstal everything again?
I tried clearing cache from google play store app
I hope someone can enlighten me. Final note: it is super great that i can run this on my one plus one from 2014, still rocking that piece of tech:good:

It's actually not the GApps package rather than the App on the Play Store itself.
The Play Store Apps compatibility are primarily determined by two ways both in combination of each other.
1) The Android version itself (aka the SDK level).
2) The device itself (aka the Make and model).
If it was previously compatible with the previous Android version then it's likely not #2 rather than #1 because the developer of the Play Store App likely has the maximum SDK (Android version) set to Android 8.x that would make it reflect as being incompatible for Android 9.
It's all up to that Play Store App's developer from here.
Sorry for the bad news...

Have you tried using MindTheGApps instead of OpenGApps?
I'm just thinking that, if I believe that an issue "may/might" be OpenGApps related, I would try to use a different GApps package to see if the issue is still present.
I'm just looking at it in another perspective...

Hello and good day! I'm on the upgrade path with HTC M10 running Android 8.0 to Lineageos 15.1 and GAPPS 8.1.0. Everything installed and phone now running HTC 10 set, but Google Play Services 'Checking for Updates' runs a very long time, fails, requires a restart, and never completes. I've downloaded GAPP and reinstalled several times, cleared application cache, and Wi-Fi connection is > 300mbs. Did I miss something? Is there another method to install GAPPS 8.1.0 perhaps via ADB to complete Android 8.1 upgrade?

I don't have this device myself but, see if you're provided an option to update the Google Play Services via the following link to it on the Google Play Store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms
If it doesn't work out for you, I can only think of trying to obtain some member guidance within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Got it and help appreciation
Got it and assistance appreciated! Google Play store was loaded as part of GAPP install and the link attempted (and failed) to update the version the on my device. The GAPP apps don't appear to be setup correctly and Google setup software software is failing to interface with with wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi and carrier). However, Google browser, telephone, and text work. I've installed 8.1-Linage-15.1 and 8.1.0-Gapps-arm64 -- are these compatible software pairs? Should I try another version of GAPP and if so, which one? Thanks.

I can't really state which one will work exactly since I don't have any HTC devices but, if it were me experiencing issues that are GApps Specific...
Your correct regarding your use of the GApps 8.1 (ARM64) with LineageOS 15.1.
As to the specific GApps Package, I personally prefer to use the "Pico" myself. Pico is pretty much the Google Play Store and what makes it work (Minimal).
You could try the "GApps 8.1 (ARM64) Pico" just to see if that resolves your issue and, if you wanted, go with a larger package.
It could also be one of those little/minor things that went a bit wrong with the GApps you had flashed.
It doesn't happen often with me but, it has happened to me and even on an occasion or two where I had to redo a clean installation for the LineageOS and GApps a few times.
It could have been that specific date for the GApps release where you can just go with another GApps release date.
Or maybe you can also try MindTheGApps as many members do like them over OpenGApps. This is a personal preference thing too.
I always try to rule out the little things before looking at any of the bigger things.
I hope this was helpful for you and the best guidance I can really provide you without having the actual device myself.
Good Luck!

I just flashed the unofficial 9.0.0 on to my Mi Mix 3 / perseus (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-3/development/unofficial-lineageos-16-0-perseus-t3929293) Everything's running great except for a weird anomaly with just one specific app, which I can no longer install as the Play Store tells me "Your device isn't compatible...." (The app in question: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.revolut.revolut&hl=en )
My device has been "compatible" for the last few months and the app release hasn't changed between yesterday & today during the time I flashed the new ROM. So I guess there must be information that my device is now reporting to the Play Store which for some reason deems it uncompatible with the requiremnts of the app.
I appreciate I'm on an "unofficial" build, but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions or a workaround? Incidentally this isn't to do with root as I'm deliberately not rooted nor do I have Magisk installed either..
Thanks,

I don't have this device myself but, I this typically points to a hunch I had, so I quickly looked it up and my hunch was correct.
That specific app has the following requirements...
Min: Android 4.4 (Kitkat, API 19)
Target: Android 8.1 (Oreo, API 27)
... that means it's specific to the apps compatibility. It's not compatible for Android Pie.
Good Luck!

Aha! Great detective work, thanks. So basically my ROM is too new for the app? What I don't quite understand though is that I came to Lineage from the current MIUI 10 on my Mi Mix 3, and that also seems to be Pie based? (https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-miui-10-global-stable-android-pie-download/) . The app was available in the store and worked fine on MIUI 10.
Cheers,
Steve

This isn't an issue regarding LineageOS itself.
This is specific to the apps developer(s) not providing an app compatible with any Android P firmware (Stock and Custom).
Regarding any firmware that reflects the word "Based" just means that it mimics that Android version (in whichever way they developed it) but, the Firmware is registering on the Play Store as being within the the Min & Target API (Android Version) for compatibility.
If a Firmware is truly Android Pie (from source) then that specific app will not be compatible based upon the Android Firmware Version.

Thanks for the explanation. Just curious; how did you find the information about their app targeting Oreo ? I couldn't find it in the store listing.

I just located the latest version of this app on the (following) APKMirror website...
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/revol...r-than-your-bank-5-12-1-android-apk-download/
... and If you scroll down a bit, you'll notice the 3rd group with the following information on it.
Min: Android 4.4 (Kitkat, API 19)
Target: Android 8.1 (Oreo, API 27)
That website is a very reputable one that has most up-to-date Play Store apps as long as it isn't a paid app. They won't list/provide/use any paid apps.
There's a few other ways, but that's the quickest one to locate certain information like that.
Good Luck!
