Hello everyone, I am new to the forums, so apologies if this is posted in the wrong section.
I purchased an android headunit, MTCB type, but immediately after installation unit does not work.
Unit is 1024x600 with rk3188. it is one of the custom fitted units to a civic, has volume knob (power button when pushed), tuning knob (also a button when pushed), disc eject button, back button, and small recessed reset button.
I am able to boot in recovery mode, and have tried everything from that menu..
I have installed different 5.1.1 firmwares, tried different MCUs, and nothing seems to work.
I always have the same problem where it displays the Andorid Auto Lollipop 5.1.1 screen, button lights are on, then it turns off.
Only way to reboot is to hold the reset and power button and boot into recovery mode.
When I connect to my laptop, it recognizes it as a rockchip device, but I am not sure if there is any troubleshooting I can try with PC connection.
On one occasion, after installing new firmware it went passed the lollipop screen and displayed the Android boot animation but hung at that screen forever.
After reboot, same issue persisted.
I have been unable to find my factory MCU, & manufacturer is of no help. My unit is: MTCB-KLD-V2.08
Installing the original MCU for 2.08 is the only thing I havent been able to do, because I can't find a download for it, so if someone has a link, that would be appreciated.
Otherwise, is this issue a factory defect, or is there some type of sleep mode it's entering? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
try wiping the data 3x and then reflash the update.img and mcu.img
the first boot will take 20mins or so (seems like it is forever)

Hello.
I bought a car and it came with an android head unit, but I don't know the model and didn't get a manual with it, from my understanding it's Joying or Erisin.
Are there any roms or mods for my unit?
What are the steps to install a reverse camera?
Does the unit have a fastboot option somewhere, now it takes 2 minutes to turn on every time I get in the car.
Thank you guys and sorry for my noob-nes.
Ok, I found out how to do most of the stuff on my unit, but the only problem I have now is that I can't go into recovery mode.
I tried holding the reset button for 20s and nothing happened, the screen went black and the touch screen buttons went dark and that's it.
If I hold the Power off button, the screen goes black but not the button lights.
I tried even combinations between then or the back button, but nothing.
Please help, if I can get to recovery mode I'll be the happiest man alive. ?
Three is a workaround based on using s USB keyboard.
Check if on the thread for Intel Sofia mtcd units

This solution? Is this the only way to acces recovery?
I updated the MCU to the last one and then I tried to install magisk rom through settings, it recognized the file and went into recovery but it failed. So I was into recovery but I couldn't access the menu. It says use volume buttons but that didn't work, tried all the other buttons and reset button and didn't work.
1. Disconnected all power from the unit... ACC & BAT disconnected
2. Prepared 12V power supply with on negative and two positive connectors
3. Connected negative to GND & one positive to BAT
4. Connected USB keyboard
5. Press right ALT (ALT GR on some keyboards) and PrintScreen
6. Connected the other positive lead to ACC (unit does not work if both BAT and ACC are not connected)
6a. Start pressing repeatedly on E (not holding E pressed, but press...release... press... release..... rapidly)
7. The boot logo shows (MarshMallow...etc) and after a few seconds the unit reboots itself
8. Release right CTRL & PrintScreen and continue to repeatedly press on E.
9. The Recovery shows on screen.
