Not sure why but sometimes when i search videos on the youtube app and click to play them it just says I'm unable to play them. I'll pull the battery out and search the same video and then it will play. Is there any way to fix this issue??

You can try clearing data in the app but my guess it is more stream related. Next time try toggling airplane mode on and off and see if that works. Then it is a 3G issue which you kick start when you pull the battery.
Do you BONSAI?
I ran into this same thing yesterday, and I cleared the data and everything was back to normal. Kenny was right on point, hope it works for you too.
Pulling the battery is a power cycle and seems to be the only fix. I have also noticed that after an unknown amount of time all video playback and even video recording stops working (android system, flash still works) til I power cycle. I'm thinking it has something to do with the in app between video ads. Anyway, I'm back to pulling my battery at least twice a day.
Some youtube videos are unplayable on mobile devices, like android and ios devices. This isn't anything we can control, the makers of the videos (usually music videos) decide whether or not the video can be played on mobile devices. You can try opening the video in the browser and playing it directly on the page, but chances are it'll be choppy as he'll

You pull your battery twice a day? I suggest a few things:
1. Get insurance on your phone
2. Put phone in driveway
3. Run that thing over AT LEAST 12 times
4. Get a new phone
If you're serious, you need to get a new phone because something is certainly wrong. I'm currently on about 120 hours of uptime, as in, time since the last reboot.

The power cycle is to force YouTube app to work. I watch a lot of video. The phone runs perfect otherwise.
Did you try clearing the data in the app?
Yes. Also force closed and cleared from app manager.
I had the issue where it force closed as soon as I opened it and clearing data didn't work. There was actually another entry on my phone that was causing issues. I think it was in data\data. I deleted all youtube entries (searched with root explorer) then cleared Dalvik and downloaded and installed youtube from market. Worked fine after that.
Same here, same thing happens to my visual voicemail, neither will work until I power cycle. Then they will both work fine for a while, then randomly stop again.

There are three different errors, "not available in your country", "not available on mobile devices", and "there was a problem while playing, Touch to retry" that last one is the one that makes the youtube app unusable.
The new Google Play Music update has caused some real headache for me and, as I'm finding, a number of other LG Optimus G owners. I get a couple minutes into a song and then everything stops. Error message: "Couldn't play the stream you requested."
As an experiment, I played Mackelmore's "Thrift Shop" 14x this morning (I am so sick of that song now) and the track stops within 2-3 seconds of the 2:35 mark every single time. This is not a problem on my Nexus 7. This is not a problem on my PC. This is only a problem on my phone.
3G, 4G, Wifi. same result, my songs stop playing mid-way through.
Riding in my car or sitting at my desk or in my living room, same result, my songs stop playing mid-way through.
My tracks or All Access tracks, same result, my songs stop playing mid-way through.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and, if so, how have you fixed it.
Thanks.
Update
Just got a reply from Support. They obviously did not read my email.
Hello Ryan,
Thanks for contacting our support team.
Playback issues can occur if your internet connection was lost or the speed of your connection changed while streaming. In addition, it is possible that there is an issue with the music file that you originally downloaded.
If the problem occurs while streaming music, please try playing the original file you added locally to determine if this is related to your internet connection. The issue is most likely related to your internet connection if the problem doesn't occur when playing the original file.
Please let me know if you have any other Google Play questions that I can further assist with.
Best Regards,
Samantha
I'm having this problem on the AT&T version of this phone. The problem appears to go deeper than mere connectivity: I'll get the error even with music that I have "pinned" (downloaded to my phone for offline listening). And I too have seen multiple LGOG users with this issue -- and no one else.
I think I'll have to try loading a custom ROM when I get home. I really hope the problem isn't the hardware itself, but I'm not optimistic.

Lovely. There's also a thread over at productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/mobile/A01ByhnMKOQ that might be helpful. Thanks.
I haven't been using the app too much (maybe about 3 hours worth of listening, both All Access and my tracks, since yesterday) but I haven't encountered any issues. I am rooted and running EOS, if that matters.
ATT version here
if i have a song playing from all acess, not locally orginated, it will stop playing at about 2:30 min - 3:00 min. If i start the song over and try to skiip to the part it stopped on, it ill play for about 4 seconds and then same error again.
Any fix for this? is it just too new?
I'm also having this problem but it doesn't occur with my Asus transformer pad. Does running a custom rom fix this?

I don't think this is a hardware issue. I hope as more updates are released this is fixed but idk how soon that it is.

I'm also having this issue. But I'm sprint LG Optimus G rooted 4.1. I've tried several things related to streaming errors in the past like making sure the hosts file is ok as well as setting lpa.decode to false. But no dice.

I just installed EOS and so far I'm several songs in without it stopping. So, yes I think a custom ROM fixes this.
Thats good. Im just scared to unlock my bootloader because my freegee bricked me last time lol
Same issue here. Also whenever I try to start a "radio" it just tells me the "radio could not start"
Seems this new version is broken for us as the older version worked fine.
I'll just stick to iheart for now and see what they do to fix it.
I'm on CM10.1 and do have this issue once in a while. It's very rare though.
So sad.. Updated to the latest version, hoping it would fix the problem. I got past that 2:35 mark! But only just past. Still busted. Still waiting for Google support.

I was able to get in contact with google support and send them some logs when the problem occurred. Anyone else who has the problem try and get ahold of support and tell them that you've already tried to reinstall the app, reboot the phone and clear it's cache. Send them the logs too if you can.

It worked for a few hours, after that everything went back to the same issue. I moved to an asop rom and it is working just fine. I guess the problem is related with the lg rom
Hopefully the powers that be don't do a DMCA takedown on my youtube video, but I've uploaded an example of a video playback glitch that regularly occurs on my device. Does anyone else see this on their Note 10.1 2014 edition? Very annoying... SM-P600, 32GB, USA version, MK1 firmware. Not rooted.

So far, I must be in the less than 1% that have experienced this problem...
you didn't include any info on the clip. audio codec, video codec, bitrate, profile, etc. what videomplayer are you using. is the glitch repeatable at that exact frame each time?
You can be sure that when somebody else had such problems, you will already find it here in the forum. So, no, never have such an issue. Also not over the network.
And, as mad squabbles already wrote: For more we need much more information.

The movie was downloaded from Samsung Hub to the device. HD quality. The videoplayer was the only one that plays these movies (to my knowledge): The stock Samsung video player. The glitch is not repeatable at exact locations. I can go back and rewatch the same clip and it will not appear, which says to me that there is not a data corruption problem. It seems like an I/O or "interrupt" problem to me. I've run Androbench on the device and I get as good as or better than the Anandtech benchmarks for the device.
This type of glitch occurs on any kind of move I play, including those I put on the device (mp4, etc). For the ones I have put on the device manually (not through Google Play or the Hub), I've tried the following players: Dice, MX, Archos, and the stock player.
In all other respects, the device works flawlessly: no lag to speak of (except for the occasional stutter on the notifications pull-down, which seems to be the norm). It doesn't crash randomly and battery life seems normal (no less than 7-10 hours of screen on time, ~4% drain overnight. The only thing that I have that probably isn't too common is that I do have MDM software installed (MaaS360) so that I can sync with my employers Exchange servers using TouchDown.

Normally I would expect that you have an background process which got more attention from Android then your video player. This can be anything. Did you have this issue also after a directly after a restart?

Factory resetting now. Will report back when I get it back online. I'll test video before installing any third party apps...
And.....it's still glitching after a factory reset.
First thing I noticed was that this scene is similar to super Mario live action movie
Second, this glitch can happen when you read from a slow SD card or can be reading and writing at same time, for example downloading from torrent or installing apps and playback movies from same location.

Indeed. However, movies are playing from the internal memory without any other significant activity going on. (no D/Ls, etc. just normal device behavior that is native to the OS) going on in the background. I also have played video in airplane mode...

There is always *some* process running in the background... I have cleared all other applications while playing a movie, but really, should this be necessary? (Problem still remains) I've tried playing movies without any non-stock apps installed. Problem occurs. I've tried freezing as much bloatware as possible without rooting before installing third part apps. Problem occurs.
What I would like to explicitly know is this: has anyone rented a movie from Google Play, played at least 30 minutes straight while doing nothing but watching the movie, and saw any stuttering whatsoever during that 30 minutes. I can live with it if it is a suboptimal experience due to firmware (I'm on MK1, btw) if this is "normal" for this device. I could only hope that it would be fixed in a future firmware update if that was the case. However, I have a strong feeling that if I sent this in to Samsung, they'll fiddle with it for 10 minutes, see that it "seems" to be fine (except for this glitch, the device performs completely as-expected for an Android device), then it be returned to me with no action taken. I can live without this thing for a few weeks, but it will be extremely annoying if nothing is actually done about it. Given that this glitch is not reproducible on command, I fear it will be an ongoing thorn in my proverbial behind. Unfortunately, my return window has expired or else it would go back in an instant.
Used Kies to download and reinstall the MK1 firmware in case one of the OTA updates were corrupted. No joy. Still stutters. Samsung Live Chat help of no use. I expect a call or email from them telling me to send it in in the next 3-5 business days unless someone else states that they have the same tablet and sees this problem too, possibly confirming that it is a firmware/device combination issue.
Mmm this is weird, I have no problem with video playback (any supported format by this device)
I have no MK1 but MJ2 and maybe media scanner is working hard in background

MX player shows glitches as well on movies that it can actually play. i.e., MX player doesn't play nicely with rented (digitally rights managed) movies from Google, which is the primary problem. Perhaps Android tablet users just don't rent movies all that much?

Hi all,
Enjoying my Samsung Galaxy Note7 for the most part, but I am experiencing one extremely annoying issue.
I play music on my phone a lot, all of it streaming from either Apple Music or Pandora. On the Huawei Nexus 6P both apps work flawlessly (on both MM and N Preview), never cutting out whether in the foreground, background, screen off, whatever.
On the Note7 the apps seem to be getting killed or otherwise stopped for no apparent reason, even if they are the only apps in the switcher.
Anyone else experiencing issues like this? It seems to be worse with Apple Music, but as I say it has worked flawlessly for me on the Nexus 6P (as well as a few other recent Android devices for that matter).
So far searches have proved fruitless.
Thanks, Mitchell
Yup, it has happened to me a few times also when using Spotify. App doesn't close, but randomly stops playing my music and restarts the song when I tab back in to press play. Coming from an iPhone, I've never experienced this issue.
Sounds like the same issue. If I reopen Apple Music for example, the app opens immediately where it was, but the playback bar at the bottom is gone. When I click play on the stream I was listening to it restarts, same as you.
Similarly, coming from the iPhone (or even other Android devices), its frustrating to no end.
Are you all on Snapdragon or Exynos? My Snapdragon Note7 has the opposite problem. Music apps won't kill when I want them to and when I walk back in to range and my Gear reconnects from 3G to BT Pandora starts playing. Even though it shouldn't. My office isn't amused. I bounce between Pandora, Play Music, and Slacker and never had any of the issues you're describing. And I use them through Android Auto and would know if they weren't picking up from where I last left them.
I've got a Exynos N930F
Remove the apps that are being killed from the "App power monitor" under Device Maintenance - Battery.
You have to scroll down and click on the "Unmonitored Apps" and add the apps you want.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've just added them to the list and will see how it goes!
Interestingly, FB Messenger, WhatsApp and Android Auto were already in the list.
Sadly it didn't work, music stopped again this morning after just a few minutes
Hi,
If I'm playing a song or in a call and turn the screen off, the sound starts to stutter/lag immediately and starts to work find as soon as the screen is turned on. This happens with any app that is playing music/sound.
I have NOT updated my phone recently and I'm in the latest software update (Android 10).
This issue started suddenly and I'm not sure if it's something from the settings or what.
Disabling the "Optimise Battery Usage" for apps such as YouTube Music, Spotify, Messenger and WhatsApp did NOT solve the issue and the sound stuttering still occur when using these apps while the screen is off.
Restarting the phone did not resolve the issue.
This issue occurs while the phone is charging as well.
Any suggestion of how to resolve this issue? Anything apart from Factory Reset.
Also, my device is NOT rooted.
Thanks in advance!
