Bluetooth headphone setting - Google Pixel 3 XL Questions & Answers

Hi all, expecially developers,
I need and app which can manage default device while taking phone call.
What i ask is exactly same with current iphone IOS.
If i click to phone's screen to take a call, I must talk through phone. (Bluetooth headset must NOT take the call, or my car)
If i touch to my bluetooth headset when my phone ringing, I must continue to talk through my headset.
If i am in the car when somebody called.
If i click the car's screen or button to take the call, I must continue to to talk through car's speakers. While i am talking through car, if i click to headset, Headset should take the call (Some times i have many people in the car and need to talk privately)While i am talking through phone, if i open headset, or touch it if it is already opened/paired, headset should take over the call.
All above features already default in iphone but not in android.
If somebody can make this app, I will be the first customer. I am sure that many others may buy.

still looking for it.

is this problem the phone or the headset

I have just obtained a Samsung BT wep210 which is brilliant 'cos it doesn't fall out of my ear. But although it has some handsfree functions, it doesn't do as much as my cheapo unit from ASDA. The Asda one allows me to use voice tags when I depress the button on the headset, but when I do the same on the WEP210 it instantly does a last number redial. Am I doing something stupid?
Thanks
Mike
Not all BT Headsets have the same funtions or same button functions. What does the manual say? My Samsung BT Headset does not give me the possibility to use Voice Dial, although i don't know which one i possess

the manual is poor but it definitely makes reference to voice dialling if the phone supports it - which it does as it's a XDA orbit
Also I have discovered that this (Samsung) headset, does not switch itself off if I leave it in the car and walk off with my phone. In one way this is good as I don't have to switch it on again when I get back in, but it makes me wonder how often I am going to have to recharge it.
Thanks
Mike

Bluetooth stereo headset that rings

Hi there.
I need a bluetooth headset with LCD display (for call info) that rings on incoming calls not only on the earpiece but also "externally"; I often have my P3300 on the craddle while being working in another room, so I'm not wearing the earpiece.
Of course, if I'm going to buy a new headset, I thought of going "stereo".
I took a look at a few makers (Motorola, Sonyericsson) but none states clearly if the headset rings.
Anyone has suggestions?
Thanks.
You should be able to accomplish this with any headset. If you set Speaker DWORD at
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring0 to 1 it should play out the speaker instead of the paired BT headset.
You can also look at using JETWare BT Extension which will add a lot of functionality to the MS BT stack.

He's looking to actually have the BT headset itself ring as opposed to the phone, since he may be in a different room.
To the OP: I don't know of any BT headsets that support loud external ringing, as I would suppose that could be damaging to you ears if you happened to be wearing the headset at the time. However, some BT headsets can vibrate, so I would look into those. Alternatively, if you don't mind their aesthetics, you could look into a bluetooth info accessory, such as a watch or bracelet. Those act as a middle man btwn the phone and headset, and alert you of incoming calls.

Not to hijack this thread, but can you point me in the direction of a a2dp device that vibrates? I have been looking for ages.
To the OP: the i-tech clip d-radio could be what you are looking for.
the Jabra BT8010 is very close...it vibrates instead of rings, though, and has an LCD display that will show caller info.
The catch is you have to download the software separately, and manually input the entries into the headset itself, and it can only hold 30 entries.
Anything not in the headset's address book will just display as the number, not the name of the person calling.

Thabks all for the excellent suggestions.
I-tech Clip-D looks like the ideal candidate!
i'm using the itech r35 headset which emits 2 beeps when a call comes through. if you want it on silent mode, there's a setting that mutes the buzzer and the light flashes 2 times instead. it's also a2dp so i simply remove the single ear jack and plug in the stereo cans i have
cheers

Ringtone only in headset, driving me nuts!

in my tp2 i noticed that when i have a wired or bluethooth headset conected and someone calls me it only rings in the headphones! this made me lose several phone calls.
in other devices i had , i used a reg hack for it to ring in the device speaker and headphone,so i tried in my tp2 but it does not work as the reg hack is related to the microsoft bluethooth stack.
therefore i m asking for help and also if other tp2 users can confirm this issue.
my bt heaset is a jabra bt3030.
thanks
I am having the same problem with my TP2, the headset becomes useless for this reason.
I use a Sennheiser MM-200 headset, bought this headset not to have earphones plugged in ears all time but only when i have incoming call.
Not sure what to tell you about the wired headset, but is your BT using the normal headset BT profile or is it connecting also with A2DP/Stero BT? That could be part of the problem.
In the Bluetooth menu it is connected with: "Stereo Audio" and "Hands-free"
you can switch off the stereo audio function and stay with the hans-free function only. it works fine, but you have to do it manually.

I made a soft reset and now the phone rings even with stereo audio enabled - whats good for me, but i do not understand why
Hi Faria,
There is a setting in the BT config to transfer "ALL" system sounds to the connected audio device, this may be your issue. I don't use a wired but my Rhodium rings in the headset and on the device after removing this option.
Cheers,
Beasty
I really hate this feature too. I am used to listening to music on my BT hedset. So when I get home I would just take them off, put the phone on my desk and go about my business. But if I don't disconnect the headset now I won't notice it ringing... which can lose in lost phone calls.
Hopefully someone will find a workaround.
Start>Settings>Connections>Bluetooth
First tab (gears)>Advanced>Audio
"Play system sounds on remote hands-free device" = uncheck
Just tested and works for me.
I get the normal ringtone from the phone and the regular "beep" from the stereo headset.
FYI, this is basically the same information as listed two posts up...
On my old phone if my headset was in and my phone rang it would say call from and state the persons name through my headset. The ringer itself wouldn't play through my headset nor the phone. And now I can't remember but I know it beeps in my ear but I think the phone plays the actual ringer also at the same time. But if I checkmark what you guys are unchecking will the actual ringer play through my plantronics bt headset and not on the phone.. I kind of would like that for if I am out and dont' want my phone to ring all loud I would rather the ringer play in my ear and was wondering if that's what happens when I check that. Mine was unchecked when I got the phone.. I don't havea bt headset I use for music just talking mostly when driving..

Handsfree App for Car

Hello,
I recently bought an FM Transmitter for the car, and I am looking for an app that does that following things:
1. Automatic Pickup and routing to the FM Transmitter (so the sound plays on my car speakers)
2. Automatic Text and Email Readout to the FM Transmitter
3. HandsFree voice so when I say a keyword, the phone voice search will activate (even when the screen is locked) (or the phone to always go back to google now after a call or a text)
4. Also, when playing music or during navigation, when a call is coming, it should automatically pick up.
Are there any apps that offer all/most of these features?
Thanks
Have you tried Car Home? I know that is a popular one..

No, that doesn't have auto pickup and it doesn't read out messages to you.
I've tried Lazy Car, and it fulfills my requirements but it is extremely buggy and only works half the time. Sometimes the phone auto answers and the call routes to the headset on the phone instead of the car.

Bluetooth issues - Please help!

I love this phone so far, but one issue has me wanting to send it back to tmobile. My car comes with a Bluetooth stereo, and I have it paired with my m8. The problem is with the phone's OS and Bluetooth prioritization.
When I place a call, a window pops-up and asks what audio method I want to use. It is unnecessary, but I could live with that.
When a call comes in, it always defaults to the phone's internal speaker. I have to take it out of my pocket and manually select Bluetooth audio. Sometimes it doesn't even switch over after it is selected.
Is there a way to make it always default to Bluetooth audio when connected? It is driving me crazy!
