Odin perhaps? You could flash recovery using fastboot on HTC devices, but Samsungs lack this AFAIK

for cm10 you need to unlock your bootloader to flash fxp/cm10/aokp kernels.
if u cannot unlock it due to warranty issues try out other ICS custom roms in dev section which support locked bootloader.
many of them have features of ICS-JB combined .
Sony devices have no recovery partition, so you can't install a recovery on the normal way. If you want to stay on gingerbread, install DoomKernel v22, so you automatically get a recovery

I thought I've seen some guy who is working in a CWM for Xperia devices that will allow us to flashing kernels on locked bootloaders

Incorrect - flashing a kernel requires a unlocked bootloader end of. Now for the installation of CWM on locked bootloader, it can be installed to the system partition and booted from there, you could use this application to install the required for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840.

Thank you, but I know it. I told that CWM maybe will be released in the future for locked bootloaders, so we will be allowed to flash custom kernels, sorry for my poor english

I have an Xperia Pro with locked bootloader...
You can install CWM through x-parts, from playstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDIxMiwiY29tLnB2eS5DV01pbnN0YWxlciJd
Or using RecoveryX:

Both methods will be deleted if you wipe system partition... which you'll pretty much do when flashing a zip rom.
there are good Roms out there for locked bootloaders... I've tried these 3 and they are great!.

That usually depends on what recovery you installed. Go to the thread of your recovery and look there.

No, you unvalid the warrenty only if you root the phone.
The CWM or TWRP are just a type of recovery... If you've never installed a custom recovery you will probabily have a stock one (like Samsung's) or maybe you WON'T EVEN HAVE ONE )... of course it depends on the phone's producer and model.
BTW, if you want to install a custom ROM or flash files, you'll have to root the device :good:
If you unlock your bootloader you will void your warranty.
Recently unlocked my bootloader and flashed twrp... Now i have a question does flashing the entire stock rom re-locks the bootloader...if yes, do we also get the OTA updates? i read somewhere on the internet that flashing the entire stock rom re-locks the bootloader & we can get OTA's... If we can do this why is Asus blacklisting our serial numbers while unlocking the bootloader? And when we want to unlock our bootloader again do we have to go through the same procedure that we used previously...
Nope

No way to safely relock bootloader. Some say flashing a RAw romimage will relock but this seems tobe hit and miss.
If you unlocked your bootloader using the unofficial tool then ASUS doesn't have your IMEI but if you did use official tool your up that creek with no paddle and a hole in the boat... If you unlock the bootloader you can put unnoficial roms onto your phone that can potentially damage hardware. If you then relocked the bootloader and reflashed the stock rom you would get it repaired under warranty and ASUS don't want that. Blacklist your IMEI means as soon as your phone gets to a repair center you pay $$$ to fix...
Is there method to have OTA updates after unlocking bootloader and flashing twrp recovery ? I unblocked booloader with unofficial method and flashed twrp. After playing couple days with cm13 went back to my backed up with twrp stock rom. What to do to have OTA back ?

Flash stock rom + boot.img +droidboot.img + recovery.img for that rom...
If you go to the pre-rooted rom thread you can get all these things and use fastboot to flash.
Just remember though, if you have busybox or xposed or anything that alters the system directory that flashing OTA will fail. Founfd he easiest thing was to re-flash the latest pre-rooted rom (with all img files having been flashed prior) works everytime...
hi guys i dont have anymore in my house any PC with Windows (or MAC) so in all my family we have only android devieces, my question is:
now im on viper LP rom, i would like to flash MM rom but in flash manuals is wrote: you need MM firmware flash before you will flash MM rom, if you dont do that your phone will not boot..
but i now read MM flashing firmware guide where is wrote: you need connect with adb your phone and flash by PC or MAC
so my question is: can i flash MM firmware without PC? if yes can someone put here guide how to do that withou pc?
If you are s-off you can flash an unsigned zip.
If you dont have s-off buy it or you need a pc to install stock stuff to take the ota.

Yes im s_off with twrp so i flash that zip before i flash mm custom rom or after that?

You must flash the stock zip (firmware) first then your rom of choice over the top.

Can you please post here link to stock zip flashable firmware which I can flash in twrp? I don't have pc so I can flash it only in twrp in my m9. Im always thinking stock firmware can be flashed only from pc. I can't find flashable stock firmware zip file..

OK, but in the guides it says that usb debugging must be enabled to perform that and i havent enabled it.
OK, it worked without usb debugging using the flash all skript in the OTA. thank you Domin_PL
