What leads you to believe that?
If you are seeing the eRecovery menu while holding Vol+&Power make sure the phone is not plugged in at all. Not even to the charger.
Had that happen to me before.

It appears I need to hold down vol+&power to reboot and don't reboot phone while it's plugged in because it will seem to be unrooted after boot... Magisk wants to install again. Root removal apps thinks phone is unrooted.

Just volume up. No need to hold power as well.

Hold down the power botton +vol. up for about 20 seconds. When the screen goes black switch holding vol. up to holding in vol. down.
You should boot into fastboot.

If you're not on 4.4.4 firmware you should update to it. It's already a well known fact that running ROMs with out dated firmware WILL result in excessively long bootup times(10mins + ) .

Then just try it again.
Did it actually start up again or just shut itself off? if so you can still just press Volume Down + Power to get into bootloader.

Once it reboots you won't really be able to get in, well I couldn't when I tried. As soon as the screen goes dark you should immediately have the volume down key pressed, I'm talking about a second at most in between.
If the phone is completely off it's easy enough to just hold volume down and power for a couple of seconds until it goes into bootloader. When you do the hard reset you have to hold the power button and slide down to volume down quickly before it boots up.
You didn't still have fastboot checked in the settings did you?

OH SH*T! I still have mine checked. It doesn't work any more for me (normal boot times), but I haven't been unchecking it when messing with stuff because I'm not realizing/ forgetting that it is on.
I should probably fix that before I get myself into trouble.:good:

Well another method to try that worked for me when my device hung up, connect to PC, and use adb reboot bootloader to have it rebooted into bootloader.

I'm just curious, was your phone fully charged when you were flashing the ROM? It sounds like a battery problem, but I could be wrong.
Always make sure you have lots of battery before flashing anything. The way it won't stay on is really weird. You could try the ROM's forum. Maybe you might find an answer there. Sorry.

Couldn't update to Lollipop OTA

My device fully complete the lollipop update OTA, But fails to install, and gives me a red triangle with exclamation mark.
when i press the volume up and power button to know the reason of error, it shows me "/system/bin/flash_camera" as shown in the attached snap shot photo.
noting that the motherboard has been changed before in the service center, device not rooted before, battery fully charged, having enough space and finally factory data retested.
Could u help me to solve the problem?

Can you boot your phone normally? To boot your phone in bootloader turn it off. Then press and hold Vol- and Power button until phone reboots itself but you first must disable fast boot option in Power option in your phone Settings menu.Booting phone in bootloader dont losse your warranty.Unlocking bootloader will.

HTC won't boot

I tried to root my HTC Desire 820. While rooting it with supersu i checked reboot system instead of wipe cache/delvik (which is probably why it wasn't detected as rooted). I noticed it, so I went back in, and while choosing .zip directory i went away for ~5mins and now my phone doesn't boot (LED doesn't blink either); battery is well over 80% and charging. What should I do?

Well if I had to guess I'd say it's a screensaver because I didn't really press anything; I can't access it in anyway, unless there is a special type of button combination?

Try holding power and VOL+ together for some times. It should then bring up the HTC boot screen. Then the device should start boot normally again.

You are welcomed?.
For most of the Android device that has a non-removable battery (not by screws), VOL+ and Power button is a universal trick to force reboot/shutdown your device.

How do I boot to recovery without adb?

Does anybody know what the button combo is to boot into recovery? I'm able to successfully able to boot in by using "adb reboot recovery", but trying all combinations of the power and volume buttons won't boot into recovery mode and will just boot the phone normally. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Someone posted in another thread, but Iirc it was like turn the phone off, the press volume up and plug in the USB or something like that.. Maybe it was power down, try both

I've tried to use Vol Up + USB bout no dice in my Razer Phone, may that be connected to carrier firmware as I have Three UK one?

If it's unlocked, it shouldn't matter what carrier you're on (I'm on T-Mobile in the US and bought it carrier unlocked). Make sure the phone is plugged in first then turn it off. Once it's off, press the volume up and it should begin to boot into recovery.

Thanks for advice, I'll give it a shot and see what's happen

[SOLVED] I think I bricked my brand new pixel xl 2. Will appreciate any advice.

Hello friends.
I got my Pixel XL 2 yesterday and today I'm in trouble already.
I unocked the bootloader, installer twrp and rooted with magik succesfully, but I had trouble installing my apps (titanium backup gave me a parcing error and the googgle play store wanted me to pay again for my purchases for some reason), so I figured I do a factory reset so I get prompted to restore from my old phone via cable. So I went to settings -> factory reset.
The problem is that when android rebooted to erase the data, I instead got dumped into twrp on a screen that says Mount Decrypt Data and is asking me for a lock pattern. But the screen doesn't responds, so I can't proceed. The power hard button just toggles the screen on and off but it does not reboot or turns the phone off when I hold it, so I don't know how to get to my bootloaded to maybe reinstall a factory image or what else to do.
I'm just stuck on that screen without options.
I would very much appreciate any advice.
Hold power, vol up and down buttons until your device turns off.. then go into bootloader by holdind vol down and power
I thank you very much for your reply.
I did booted succesfully into bootloader, but now I'm affraid I jumped from the frying pan into the flame because now my phone doesn't power up at all. If I connect it to the charger I don't get the battery with a lighting bolt that I'm supposed to get. The only life sign I get is if I plug it via USB to my computer, I do get the sound that windows plays when yoy connect something, but other than that, the phone seems to be dead.
I'm guessing it's something with the hardware?

Was the battery low when you started this?
Are you familiar with ADB? When plugged into the computer type adb devices or fastboot devices does it return your device serial number? If so type adb reboot bootoader.
If not I would hold the power button for a good 20-30 second and see if you can force it to turn on or reboot and immediately hold volume down to get back to bootloader.

Did you get anywhere with this? Just curious. I know you're probably upset, we're here to help if we can. :good:
Thank you very much to everyone for your time and help.
Thanks to your advices I was able to solve it. In case anyone ever finds himself or herself out in a similar situation, here's what ended up happening:
After holding the power button for about 30 secs as Namolas sugested the phone did reboot itself and brought me back to that twrp mount decrypt data screen asking me for a lock pattern. It was then just a matter of adb booting to the bootloader and install a factory image as usual.
Thanks again. I appreciate it guys.
