I tried following these instructions to root my phone https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1/how-to/guide-how-to-persistant-root-xperia-xz1-t3718375
All the commands appeared to complete ok, but when the phone started it would hang on the Sony logo. I tried reboot to TWRP and it's messed up... half of the screen is missing and the text is purple and can't press buttons. I used fastboot to flash boot.img from Xperia XZ1 Compact (G8441).zip and fastboot to flash twrp-3.2.3-0-poplar-1.img. I did not use Flastools at all, and was wondering if this was my mistake? I red here that the a fresh install of firmware is needed, but where do I get the firmware for Xperia xz1 compact and how do I know which version is needed?
UPDATE: I got twrp working by installing lilac from here. The instructions in the tutorial are for XZ1 and not compact.
Hi, have you solved this? I have the same problem. Installed TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-0-lilac-pie-1.img) and after reboot, xz1 compact is stuck on SONY logo and not booting.

WOW a minute after I wrote a reply, to this thread, I tried to download and install another twrp image (twrp-3.2.3-0-lilac-pie-2.img) and it loaded! Will see if it will continue to work

Hello,
I'm new to Android Device. I just bought Sony Ericsson Xperia Play R800i 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I was found Official Update from Sony Ericsson Site. Then I go with and after downloading update it's message me it will reboot and start again. But nothing happened. My phone was dead then. Even I tried several time to switch on my phone but a short vibrate but not booting. I'm very frustrated.
Then I research a lot and found some resource. I download Flash Tools flashtool-0.6.7.0-windows and I also download new Firmware R800i_4.0.2.A.0.42_Generic.ftf and R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_(1253-4437).ftf as well as I tried Xperia_Relock_bootloader.ftf.
But nothing Happen. I'm now very upset. Is there anyone can help me to solve this issue?
This happened to me except I had my boot loader unlocked and tried to do an ota. Only got a black screen. I thought I broke it. with the help of xda I flashed ftf file and it worked. I imagine you have rooted your phone otherwise you would return it under warrenty I imagine. what you need to do its find the xda post for ota bricked unlock boot loader download the files and use flash tool to flash the file. worked for me and I thought I was boned. sorry I can't link you to the ppost but don't fear follow their directions and you'll be fine. I hope this lead you to the right post and kinda helped

your hwconfig is damaged by the kernel .... you need to rewrite it with setool2.

Red LED blinks?
Charge your battery and than flash a clean stock ROM.
If you want to use CM then you need unlocked BL or else they wont boot.
Nothing is broken, its just a failed ROM install.:good:
Hey guys.
Ok so i sideloaded the latest update and i went ahead and unlocked the bootloader, then i flashed custom twrp and i attempted to install a custom rom. Prior to that i wiped data and i cancelled the process thinking it was taking too long,i rebooted into recovery again and flashed the custom rom and it was successful, now after a reboot its stuck on the "Asus welcome screen" powered by android,it continues in that loop,i cant seem to access fastboot or bootloader or recovery or anything?? Am i screwed???:crying:
Did you tried with volume up + power ? (release power when the phone vibrates) thats the fastboot, it displays a usb logo?

My phone (ZE551ML) shows an USB logo and if it i let it boot normally shows asus screen and reboots, that's it. I've read about intel phone flash tool and intel manufacturing flash tool but i dont have the RAW firmware needed to flash, no one seems to have it :S im considering taking it to service at USA even when i live in Venezuela and that will be pretty expensive $$$, but i dont see any other options

refering to your problem i did find that their isnt a raw firmware for the 551 out that anyone knows of yet but theirs one out for the 550 and i remember reading that after you flash it with "asus flash tool" then u need to flash 551 files over it to make it 551 again. dont know if your interested in trying that but if you are i will do my best to find all the information on it and post it for you. best of luck with your problem.
Hello together,
I have a very big problem with my G3. A few days ago i tried to install CM13 on it, I thought everyting was fine but later in night the phone frezze always. Then i would restore the backup, but i canĀ“t. I got an error, but I cant remember what error..
Than I tried to wipe, I got errors again. i just want to take a photo, and it suddenly works...
But installing the rom takes very long. It stays at:
"Patching system image unconditionally..."
(sorry cant insert the image)
Sorry for the few informations and my bad English, but I hope for help
Thank you, and merry christmas!
--edit:
I updated twrp to 2.8.7.0 bevore I could whipe.
I used this to repair my phone:
http://open-freax.fr...ick-your-lg-g3/
I thought it was working.. But now it is broken again..
The phone worked very fine for one day. And today it freezed suddenly, then I pulled out the battery and tried to reboot. From this moment it stuck on the screen with the cm logo..
I can't wipe, it stuck.. Installing the Rom give an error..
The Rom which is installed is: cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K8-d855.zip
And the gaps: arm 5.1 nano 25 December 2015 from opengaps
Probably the guide I used was not the right one for my problem..
I hope that I haven't destroyed the good G3 :'(
Download a diffrent rom on pc put is on a flashdrive an on the go cable then flash it in twrp

Or kdz or tot method back to stock and start again
Flashing a different rom was impossible, too.
tot method gives always errors.
And with using the kdz method, stuck at the the firmware update screen, after retrying now I stuck at the LG logo...
bricked again :good:
Hey Guys, I have a problem with my h815. It is refurbished and I tried to flash other stock firmware it competed to 100% and the phone died ( i flash it with LGflashtool2014). I tried QPST flashtool it flashed something and error 1006 appeared and when I wait it a little the LED starts blinking, but the error was still there. So I decided to use the SD card method and finaly I entered in download mode.... I tried over 10 firmwares for H815, but with no success..... lg up stops at prepareafterdownload etc., lgflashtol2014 stops at 9% too... I havent eject the sd card while flashing the firmwares.
