It's not working on our device.
You are able to backup but when you flash the backup zip in the recovery you get Error: 7. The developer currently has exams and so is not working on that.

i am using older version 1.0.4beta its working for me

you didn't mention lenovo p2 in your devices
You tried on lenovo p2?

Titanium backup is worked on pie 9

Most probably you have dirty flashed ROM. Delete titanium backup folder from /data/app/ or /data/data/ named something like com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup

Migrate app XDA ..this is the best app out there
Although I tried earlier versions for lenovo p2 and always got Error 1 in TWRP
But yesterday I was switching ROM's to AEX pie and used Migrate.
All the apps backed up along with permissions.
It requires root permissions so please flash Magisk when flashing new ROM.

try a data wipe, root will persist. assuming you didn't mess too much stuff up you should be back to stock with su
but agreed, something like this would be useful if you messed it up and didn't backup first

OP,
Find RMK40's Stock Froyo Rom in the Android Development folder. Wipe all your data and cache.
Done.

backup note 7 for recall process

hi,
is there a tool for backing up note 7 (apps and settings) before returning To the service center ?
I know that smartswitch world but that doesnt backup settings of apps.
titanium backup is good but requires root.
an official note 7 backup tool from samsung would be nice.
or a method to get full nandroid backup without touching inox ?

Try this
http://www.samsung.com/uk/smart-switch/samsung-desktop-app.html
First use smart switch to back up settings of the phone, then use Helium to backup settings of apps and or apps themselves. Helium doesn't require root but works pretty much like titanium backup.
There are lots of apps that helium can't backup data from.

Do you know that it backups app settings ?
I never understand why you can't backup settings of an app especially if the backup is attached to your Google or Samsung ID.
If anyone can confirm anything other than the TB/Root solution that works I would really appreciate it.
I used smart switch and I have over 300 aps on my phone, it backed up all of them but 2.
is there a way to have full nandroid backup ?
also, is it possible to ;
- root
- get titanium backup
- unroot

Thanks, but what about the app's data? It took me several days to set up all my apps, the thought of doing it all again just depresses me!

With the current root method it doesn't trigger knox.

Regardless if Knox is tripped or not samsung is going to replace it. It's under recall.

I ended up have to log back into all the apps. One camera one I use called MIX once I signed in with my credentials that were originally created an account all presets where there, I think its hit or miss.

But how to restore on new phone, if triggering knox is a risk? I guess if that method doesn't then yay.

When I rang up Samsung to put in my details for the recall, I asked the same question and was given this link-

titanium backup can't restore previous versions of apps

I don't know when this started happening, but titanium backup would not restore the previous versions of apps that I have backed up. It would restore the previous version only if I uninstall the app first.
Restoring newer app versions however, works.
Am I the only one having this problem?
I just want to know that I can revert back some app, if it has any problems.
Does anybody know a workaround for this?

I'm bumping this.
Can someone at least confirm or deny if they have the same problem, please.
I always had to uninstall the app to restore a previous version.

Thank you.
I started using swift backup. It can restore the previous version of apps.
However I still use titanium backup to export an older backup with a previous version of an app first, then extract the apk file from it and park it in the swift backup folder. Then swift backup can restore it without having to uninstall the app.
I don't understand why TB is loosing it like that...

How do you guys backup?

Just wondering, for those guys that run a custom ROM, how are you backing up before the flash?
I used to use Migrate, but since we don't (yet) have TWRP I can't use that on OP7T.
What do you guys do?
I personally use Titanium Backup. The UI is not the prettiest, but it works well to make backups of apps and other useful data.

Swift Backup! Very smart tool.
Titanium Backup. Never has let me down in the years i used.
I backup and restore with chinese recovery. All works well
I switched from titanium to swift Backup last year. I got some issues with newer apps and that was the reason I switched.

Question How to Backup with TWRP on MIUI ?

Hello
im using TWRP 3.6 on Miui eu can i backup everything with twrp ?
because its says not all users decrypted
Hello.
TWRP is not the best option to backup user data now. I advice you to use other methods.
I personally use Swift Backup. It backs up all my apps along with their data. It's a really good one.
But I do hope you find a way to backup ur stuff using twrp. Still, I highly advice you to confirm that it does recover your backup. You don't wanna backup all ur stuff thinking they're recoverable then happens they aren't.

Yes. WiFi passwords, logs, app data etc etc. You need to be rooted for app data though. Some apps like banking apps will need to be signed in again, but it copies most app data over. Just run a full backup with all apps, copy to pc, flash rom, copy back and install swift backup again. I just backup the whole swiftbackup folder
