flashing over xiaomi.eu? - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

Peeps,
So i read somewhere on another forum that its possible to flash Stable Global 10.0.1.0 over CN 10.0.3.0? obvs with unlocked BL.
I've a MM3 that shipped with a china rom, I've flashed x.eu 10.0.3.0 and its fine? Could i go flash over it with the above Global?
Can anyone shed some light? or is the person posting this actually insane?

Yes you can, but only the fastboot rom.

Il succeed flashing global beta 8.11.8 from global beta 8.11.8 eu, using twrp, with a format data.

flashed over x.eu 10.0.6.0 with Global 10.0.1.0 using Miflash with fastboot rom, it rebooted into recovery screen saying "this version cannot be installed on this device"...at this point i started crying lol.
Plugged into mi suite to see if i could recover back to original china rom it shipped with, discovered the BL was locked again, unlocked again via mi tool and hey presto, it booted up with fully working Global rom!
I'm now in a good place.

Stucked in Fastboot mode

Hi Guys,
I am stucked at fastboot mode afterb trying to flash back to China Rom,how to get out of it?
Thanks in advance.
Mi max 3 anti roll back, you mus flash last version to unbrick your device
1. This is not the right section for this question.
2. if you came from 8.8.23 China Beta you have Anti-rollback, which means that to move to china stable you would have to wait for the next china release and flash it from the updater app and not from fastboot. I know its annoying but its safe. If you are stuck in fastboot try flashing latest 8.8.23 China Beta from mi flasher
3. if you came from 8.8.9 China Beta, Try flashing 8.8.9 again
This happened me too today. My phone arrived with the fake global rom 9.6.4. I was flashing official Chinese rom v9.6.11.0 and got a message saying flash successful, however a window also popped up saying MiFlash stopped working and my phone was stuck on the fastboot screen then.
If you find a solution to this problem I would appreciate it and vice versa.

1- flash and boot to twrp
2- format data then wipe (system and cashes)
3- flash xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 or any release before that and reboot
4- use mi flashtool to flash any stable before 9.6.12 or beta before 8.8.17 and choose wipe all and lock in mi flashtool ( this is very important to unlock it your self later with official permission)

yes, most of the unlocked phones from retailers are unlocked without official authorization and that is the main reason for ADB/fast boot fails in some cases , I have MM1, MM2 and now MM3 and I know this by experience.

hi, you enlighten me so much. can i ask more? now what rom do u use in mi max 3? and why?
So to rectify, I tried to flash the official China ROM V.9.6.11 again. It did not flash properly again the 2nd time.
I then asked it to "flash and lock". Official China ROM flashed now and operating on my phone.
My plan is now to apply to have the phone OFFICIALLY unlocked, as it was obviously unofficially unlocked to put the fake Global ROM on it by the vendor, which caused a problem being stuck in Fastboot.
I do not mind waiting the 2 weeks, and once unlocked I will either put the Xiaomi.EU rom on it, or hopefully the official Global ROM will be released by that time.

You must relock and unlock with official mi permission to avoid fastboot flashing issues.
Where I can download the official rom to use mui flash?
Where i can find an explanation to use mui flash? Cause after lock the boot loader the phone is in bootloop...

What do you actually flash in step 1?
Is step 3 really necessary? Why can't I flash from the fake ROM directly to 9.6.11?
Thanks, man!

in step (1) flash official twrp ( I used minimal adb v1.4.3), step (3) is to have correct firmware and avoid mi flasher fail and boot loop ( many guys try flashing directly from fake rom to China but ended up with bootloops)

Alright, so I am on China stable 9.6.11 with TWRP (not Xiaomi original recovery). When I flashed my latest ROM, I chose "clean all and lock (bootloader)" per your instructions and I applied for offical bootloader unlocking by downloading Xiaomi flash unlocking. I still have 500+ hours, but I was told when my bootloader is unlocked eventually, my user data will be erased again.
So will it be a better idea to flash global stable ROM first or wait for the official bootloader unlocking then flash global stable ROM?
Question: I have China Stable 9.6.12.0 on mine Max3. If I want to install the Global Version should I have to wait for Global Version equal version (9.6.12.0) or later? Os there any suggestion to flash the incoming Global 9.6.7.0 on mine (ARB suposed to be implemented in mine version)?

hello all, if someone can help me, i have my mi max3 with locked bootloader.
now i dont have any rom on it so trying to load a rom but getting an error ERASE is not allowed in locked state
what rom can i flash on it ?
tried to unlock bootloader via the tool, it gets stuck at 50% cannot verify phone.

Need some advices please

Hi all,
I'm trying to flash the global ROM on my Whyred. However, it's currently already on the latest MIUI 10.0.0.1 (OEICNFH). I've confirmed it has anti rollback (4) enabled already.
What's my best move right now? Do I unlock the bootloader and then... ?
Or do I wait for the latest global 10.0.0.1 and flash that via fastboot? Not too sure what to do now.
Or can I simply flash the latest MIUI 10 8.8.30 beta via MIUI recovery - http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.8.30/miui_HMNote5HMNote5ProGlobal_8.8.30_4996e76420_8.1.zip
You. Cannot flash global ROM using updater app but you can flash miui10 global beta using fastboot method
Before flashing miui10 global beta just confirm antirollback version in miui10.0.0.1
If it is anti: 4 then you can flash all ROMs (including stable) which has anti version 4
Thanks for your reply! I'm on anti 4 atm.
I need to unlock bootloader before I can flash using fastboot right?
And looks like you can use fastboot flash commands in CMD, or use MiFlash (which also uses the fastboot ROM). I presume both requires an unlocked bootloader either way?
Yes you have to unlock bootloader to flash fastboot ROM
Thanks, I know how to do that
Just to confirm, even though the MIUI 10 Global beta is v8.8.30, which is a lower version than the MIUI 10 Chinese Stable 10.0.0.1, it's still OK to flash? They both came out on August 30th, so I'm assuming it's OK to flash from one to another and vice versa, without getting the phone bricked?
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-pro-update/
enter this commands
fastboot getvar anti
to know the antirollabck version, if it is anti 4 in MIUI10.0.0.1 then you can flash MIUI 8.8.30
Yup it's anti 4.
I thought the anti rollback prevents you from "downgrading" to a lower firmware? I'm a bit confused why stable 10.0.0.1 can be upgraded to 8.8.30 beta, even though the version seems to be lower. I guess it's just a naming convention difference for the stable and beta firmwares?
Then you can switch between any anti 4 ROMs
Yes beta ROM naming convention follows present date month year format
8.8.30 indicates
2018/08/30
Next beta update name will be 8.9.6
And yes antirollback prevents you from downgrading to older version of bootloader
9.5.17 ROM and previous ROM has anti3 so you cannot rollback to those version
For China stable it is 9.5.21 and you cannot rollback to 8.5.6 beta ROM these ROM
So be careful while flashing older version this may brick your device and no problem while downgrading anti4 enabled ROM
Perfect, that makes a lot of sense now.
Thank you very much!

flashing the Indian fastboot rom without bricking the device

My redmi 6 pro had a chinese rom out of the box. Can I unlock bootloader and flash the Indian fastboot rom without bricking the device? As I live out of china and I rather have a non-chinese rom.
I have the same question.

Flashing indian rom will lock the bootloader. You can unlock again after flashing but, many user faced 30 days unlock waiting time for the second unlock. Keep that in mind,
And if you prefer global rom, use xiaomi.eu rom.

I heard that it may brick the device. What about that? As I don't have access to any official repair store. Btw I need the chinese fastboot rom incase anything goes wrong but I can't find it as it's not in the downloads page(only india rom). What can be done?
I want the eu rom flashing process to be completely safe and reversable in the future. But I don't have any china fastboot rom.

I bricked my phone while flashing EU rom direct through twrp.

note 8t global to eea ?

im on global with my note 8t global 11.0.3.0, thinking of going to eea rom debloated, iv seen xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8T_V11.0.7.0.PCXEUXM_v11-9, i assume its the correct one im after, is it worth it.
i have unlocked my bootloader, no twrp yet just though, i assume i have to use twrp to to convert to eea? and not miflash.
to me unlike the old days with marmallow roms, you cannot backup rom to sd card anymore, only internal? seems a waste.
why is this though or am i wrong, a lot of people seem to be having problems flashing with errors..unlike the old days!
so back to my question... is it worth it, saving rom backup to sd card is the only reason i will do it, if i cannot then ill just leave it.
Re: @bluefender
Downgrading or changing area version need to do a clean flash through fastboot. You can do this by MiFlash.
According to your description, your current version is V11.0.3.0.PCXMIXM Global Version. The fastboot ROM for this version:
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V11.0.3.0...XM_20200319.0000.00_9.0_global_f0a94ec54f.tgz
You can use the link above to rollback to this version you are using (V11.0.3.0.PCXMIXM Global Version).
This link below is the version you want, V11.0.7.0.PCXEUXM Europe Version. Download link is shown below:
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V11.0.7.0...XEUXM_20200318.0000.00_9.0_eea_11e5f4d0c9.tgz
Changing area version will erase all your personal data. Take a backup on a safe storage device.
can i flash it with orange fox ? i tried mi flash didnt work, had all the correct drivers, i did how ever flash willow_eea_global_images_V11.0.9.0.PCXEUXM_20200522.0000.00_9.0_eea_ef896cff18 through orangefox, worked perfectly.

This is a fastboot ROM. Flash it through fastboot. Or you can flash recovery ROM through custom recovery.

A: If you flash a Xiaomi.eu ROM, doesn't matter the region of your device. It's just a zip file, just like before, always in TWRP. My older RN8T has a xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8T_V11.0.7.0.PCXEUXM_v11-9 (EEA based), but it was Global. My actual RN8T is EEA, and i have installed xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8T_V11.0.4.0.PCXMIXM_v11-9 (Global based)

A: TWRP doesn't convert any Xiaomi ROM, just flash the ROM (zip format) you choose

A: Full backup of the ROM still is possible, you have to choose the destination (you can use OrangeFox, instead)

Question Can I update from Global Rom to Indonesian ROM WITHOUT unlocking bootloader

My Phone (Poco F3) comes With Global ROM Firmare (Alioth Global R-KH-MI-XM 12.0.3)
Can I update its firmare To Indonesian ROM Firmware (Alioth Global R-KH-ID-XM 12.5.1)
Using Regular recovery Image *.zip
Without unlocking bootloader!
>>>
And What Will Happen If I do So ?
Will The phone be bricked!
of course no lol. It will not even install. If you wish to do it, unlock bootloader then use mi flash
Must need bootloader to be unlocked
Even if it can be done any modifications with firmware or ROM are a major risk if done on a locked bootloader. unlock the bootloader otherwise risk bricking your device
if i were you...i choose to flash MI EU... & my poco is indonesian rom... trust me it's buggy too after updating 12.5

as far as I know you can not block the bootloader of a stock with a different region from the original, it goes into brick.
