I've a doubt about ARB on my device - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I was looking if my device got ARB activated.
I reboot on fastboot, check arb getvar, and result was : getvar:anti FAILED (remote: GetVar Variable Not found)
I'm not sur what it mean? ARB is not activated, or verifing procedure failed for one or other reason?

Thx for reply.
But there is still something that I don't understand.
I've flashed many times firmware with ARB activated. For ex, i've flashed the lastest global with miflash. And now, i'm on xiaomi.eu 8.11.1 which have ARB!!! But when i test getvar anti on fastboot, it is still said that it's notre actived on my device ! How is it possible??

Is it saying that arb is not activated or that anti variable cannot be found?

Cannot be found, exactly.

So, is there a Real way to know if ARB is activate?

...b/c most of the info here regarding not only ARB btw is plane copy/paste of the related stuff for Redmi Note 5 from all over the internet... Nobody actually have taken a deep look in the firmware or even test the stuff he posts. And here we are people asking why it does't work.
Similar hardware doesn't mean similar software...!!!

failed remote: flashing is not allowed for critical partitions

Hi,
Apparently, I'm misunderstanding something. I'm trying to root my 2XL. I have unlocked the phone successfully, I believe. I have the notification screen at bootup. When I get to the task of flashing a factory image, I get the Failed notification, "FAILED (remote: Flashing is not allowed for Critical Partitions)". This occurs after ... writing 'bootloader_b'.
I was able to get Magisk installed but only 14.0 and I don't have root.
I haven't rooted anything in over 5 years so most of this stuff is pretty foreign.
Any advice would be welcome.

Lord, you were fast.
Do I need to redo fastboot flashing unlock again before I flash the critical?
Also, my phone was on the latest 8.0.0. Would you recommend that I flash the new 8.1?

Unlock critical first then flash 8.1. Make a backup because this will wipe user data.
I am already unlocked and flashed 8.0 manually. I went to flash 8.1 today and got the OPs error. Are you saying that fastboot flashing unlock_critical will also wipe data? Damn that sucks if true.

Without details from you, we can't help you. For example, are you on the latest update? What else did you try? What worked for you and what didn't? Seriously, we can't read your mind. We can't see your phone. We can't perform miracles. It's a bit tiresome to have to ask you for things you should have already provided so we CAN help you.
Since you haven't given any details for anyone to go on, all I can tell you is that depending on the version of Android you are running, the "unlock critical" command may no longer be required, in which case you will get a message when executing the command.
I did not notice this was the forum dedicated to Pixel devices, sorry. I re-did my message in the Oneplus Nord dedicated forum regarding my issue that, however, seems to be the same as the one people encountered here.
Here is the link if anyone feels like helping me : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...itions-need-assistance-details-below.4274551/

You'll need to read about your own phone. This thread is about the Pixel 2 XL. Different manufacturers tend to have different ways to unlock the bootloader.
Also, people who follow this thread are unlikely to know about OnePlus. Find a OnePlus-thread to ask for help.

Did you unlocked officially and waited 360hrs via Mi Unlock tool? Also what is the MIUI Global/China version your currently using?
I had similar experience with a Redmi 5 Plus. If you're willing to open the phone up. You can short the two pins using tweezers. Then use Xiaomi MiFlash to flash the China ROM. Once done, you can now bound the account and wait 360 hours.
Otherwise return it and get your money back.
but add account on binding options , i didnt
mi account status just unlocked

So, you can still use your phone then, no hard brick whatsoever.. Well you didn't answer my question, what miui version you are using? Cause i assume that may be a bug from a tampered rom that's why your seeing Unlocked in your Dev Options and in reality it is still locked. If you can bind your account, bind it then try to unlock it officially via Mi Unlock tool using PC, see if you will get the 360hr waiting time.
sir iam sorry to late answer
well is fix i got fake rom from i buy from distributor
i see only the test point to flashing again
can you give me recomend rom ??
i use phonecell can't upload the pic
Finaly...I find same problem with my "Whyred"...
I have ready to try with other way to fix it, until now I still can't find the way....
Maybe to fix this problem only flash rom with test point way
But until now there's still no courage to do it....
Try flashing with fastboot rom and choose clean all and lock. Otherwise you can try with edl mode
edl mode is mean i must test point ??
sad of me

I am in 9.5.17 now, it has anti v3, but 9.5.19 has anti v4 already, so don't upgrade to 9.5.19. You can see this article https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...warning-update-to-recent-miui-builds-t3814895 about ARP.

I am from Indonesia too. I bought the device from Batam. The first time i got it, the ROM is Global Stable 9.5.6 (i think it is). So, i upgraded it to 9.5.17 by downloading the full ROM and flashed it by updater, it succeed with nothing wrong happened. I was so lucky i didn't upgrade it to 9.5.19 as it has anti v4.
Have you tried to unlock using Mi Flash tool with present condition? What was the error message? I read this topic from the beginning and you haven't mention the result.
---------- Post added at 01:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:39 PM ----------
Or may be you can try to flash the ROM with built in updater app. Any possible solution is worth to try right? The worst case, you just take your phone to service center, may be they can help you with it.

You should have selected CLEAN ALL only on miflash tool. Only fix is to unlock bootloader again. If it doesnt work then flash china rom thru edl. You can try to flash china fastboot rom with locked bootloader w/ mi assistant. Check my thread.

Unable to unlock Redmi Note 5 global variant - M1803E7SH

I am unable to unlock my bootloader, I have waited the 360 required hours to unlock the bootloader. I get to 99% on the Mi Unlock program and get an error message. The messages I am getting from the Mi Unlock program are "Current account cannot unlock this device" and sometimes I get Chinese characters which translates to "Parameter error". Also, another issue I have sometimes is when I execute fastboot commands in bootloader mode it displays "Press any key to shutdown" and then no fastboot commands work. I am trying to unlock on Windows 10 and my device is connected through a USB 2.0 port and my drivers are installed correctly.

I am already using that version of MiUnlock, but I'm not quite sure why you linked MiFlash as I am just trying to unlock my bootloader.
Can't help you but from 9.5.19 anti rollback has been implemented and for getting unbricked from Qualcomm download mode you would need an authorized Mi account from Russian moderators and this version of Miflash. Most probably your account has not been binded correctly in order to unlock bootloader. Try factory reset and try again. Good luck.

Mi Flash Tool has the option to relock
Search, you can find elsewhere about the tool (it's generic for various Xiaomi phones), hence don't hesitate to read from Pocco or other (sub)forums
PS: I never used Mi Flash. And I didn't upgrade to MIUI 13
But I do have unlocked BL, using MN SHRP custom Recovery and Magisk and LSPosed with various modules
How did you downgrade to 12.5? As far as I know downgrading could produce many errors and if we somehow forcefully bypassed these errors, the phone could be bricked.
Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE Miui 13 Update?
I read Miui 13 is out for LISA. Has anyone received the update yet? For EEA its 13.0.1.0.SKOEUXM.

With an unlocked bootloader, or in EDL (with authorization, works on locked too), flashing the Fastboot version of the ROM should be enough.
After all, firmware is overwritten, XBL and ABL are too, partition layout is the same, same anti version, etc. Of course, user data has to go, since you're going backwards it's the safest way.

Have you tried it? I did try flashing the fastboot ROM via MiFlash but it gave me anti rollback error. If I edit the .bat file to remove the anti rollback lines, it gave crc error. Though I've managed to downgrade by flashing official 12.5.14 recovery rom via TWRP. Seems like MIUI 13 is not blocking user to go back to MIUI 12.
