What is the best kernel for roms based on Miui? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

I know about the blackbox, and I've read around about the Kirk 2.0 kernel and ... nothing else...
Tell me your experience.

PD: I look for performance but I do not want OC.

[Q] Kernels?

Ok... can someone please tell me what HAVS, CFS and SVS means?
HAVS - no idea
CFS - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Completely_Fair_Scheduler
SVS - no idea
lol... i guess google is my friend
HAVS (Hybrid Adaptive Voltage Scaling) What this does is provide SUPERIOR BATTERY
Really? Anyone else use these kernels? Whats the risk, is it risky like flashing a Radio?

Brill - I have some Nandroid backups, so if anything goes wrong the recovery will still work, and I can restore... excellent. Thought so
AOSP Kernel for SENSE ROM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ#Kernel
here's a link with "all" neccesary informations
--------------------------------------------------------------
i would like to add a new question in this thread:
is it possible to use an AOSP Kernel like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893484
with my SENSE-ROM ? (currently using ReflexTSense http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791315 )
thx
No, at least I know that way. You have to use a Sense kernel with a sense ROM, like this to run without problems.
so there's no option to use newer Kernels with Sense-ROM's ..
thx for the information
Sorry to break into your thread, but does it work the other way round? I mean, is it possible to use a Sense kernel with an AOSP rom?
sense with asop and the other way
i tride som ASOP Kernel with my SensHD Rom and it worked "booting
i found a flickerning screen but it worked; i refalashed a sense kernel
i think that the other "Way" should also work with some "issues"
greetings..
ps: i somewhere on thos forum found a discussion between two ROM-Programmers about using ASOP Kernel in Sense roms.
As far as i remember they both found the conclusion that sense-kernel are using differetn Graphicdrivers so that a asop kernel never will run "full" with a sense-rom but the ASOP Kernel COULD be modded in "future"

[Q] Wildfire best Rom for gaming

Hello! I would like to know what Rom would do a best gaming performance on wildfire. I have already tested myself Cyanogenmod 7 and SUnAaBh v1.1 and of course the Froyo 2.2 stock rom. i think Cyanogenmod 7 has the better game performance than SUnAaBh on my opinion. it may be because Cyanogenmod has android 2.3.
oh! And the other question
Is there a Kernel that would overclock wildifre even more than 768Mhz
I would like to know your opinion about this.
Thanks already
ps. Sorry for my bad english
Best gaming rom is anonimos froyo rom based on open fire, you can find it in development section or cyanogenmod (when using cm7, do not change the kernel, that kernel is the best one for wildfire).
No you cant overclock more than 768 mhz because it would be very unstable and could fry the processor.
Best kernel to flash on any rom is HCDR.jacobs 4.1 kernel, if you cant find it, pm me ill send it to you.
Note: dont use jacobs 4.2 kernel, from my experience, its unstable.
Hit thanks if i helped you, cheers.

I like more Android 2.3 than 2.2. So i change back to Cm7. It has a smooth gaming in wildfire. Thanks!

[Q] how do i choose the best kernel ??

hey guys
i have just flashed the leedroid rom, and i want to flash the latest kernel since kernels optimize the performance and speed... the thing is that i dont know how to choose kernels, and which one fits my rom and phone, add to the consequences of installing kernels...
i hope anyof u could help, or link me to any thread...
thanks in advance
As far as I know, snq is the only one who has updated the kernel for sense roms. But try them out.
Thank u
I didn't find it in everything desire thread
I would propose some explanation abt the reason of changing vilolts and wut does kernels improve exactly
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
A kernel controls a lot of stuff and can be important. You can change stuff like CPU speed, performance increases. I don't know exactly what a kernel does.
Here's the link for snqs kernel. No idea why it isn't in the desire everything thread.

Can I use stock GB Rom and Doom Kernel?

Hi guys! I just bought an Arc S, and it's totally awesome. BUT, even if I like the design of the stock ROM, it really can be improved. I always have around 60 mb of free RAM, and you can imagine the result
May I use doom kernel ( or any other kernel ) without flashing a new rom? Would I have improvements? Do I get more free ram?
Thanks in advance, I'm trying to learn everything I can about modding this phone, I had a Motorola and I spent the last months tweaking it, now it's time to start all over
If you've unlocked the bootloader, yes. Any kernel thread OP will advise what version of android the kernel will support, or if it's specifically for a certain rom(i.e. MIUI/CyanogenMod roms). Generally, custom kernels improve performance and add features not available in the stock rom such as call recording, various schedulers, overclocking and so on. Battery life tends to be better with the stock kernels though.
thanks! and specifically, if I want to stay ( for now ) with stock rom 2.3.4 which kernel would you suggest me to try? i'd like one with smartassv2 governor, i heard it's pretty good
Doomkernel is your best bet there, tbh.

[Q] Kernals/Roms Question

Do kernals wipe data?
Can any kernal work with any rom (like AOKP)?
Do kernals up performance?
Compared to Roms what helps more for performance?
If anyone knows a really good rom for performance but still having some extra features from AOKP or something please let me know!
Cheers.

1. No. Not unless the dev specifies that it does.
2. No, there are AOSP/AOKP kernels and kernels specific to Touchwiz
3. Yes, custom kernels can up performance. That, and better battery life are usually the intent.
4. A combination of both, although custom kernels give the user more control over the matter than custom ROMS.
Kernal List?
Thanks for the reply!
Is there a thread with a list of AOKP kernals?
Cheers.

Not specifically that i'm aware of.. Best thing to do is look on the Kernel's OP, Should say if it works on AOKP (Which i believe most will)
