root dont work at all - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

Hi,
i have global 10.0.1.0 and root with magisk.
That work ok.
I can see the folder "root" with the app "x-plore" or "root Explorer".
In magisk the program "x-plore" and "root explorer" have root permissions.
Now my problem:
When i want copy a file in the folder "root/system" it dont work.
And also the write-permissions i dont can change.
Question:
Is there a bug in global 10.0.1.0 ?
Or, what can i do?
thanks for your answers.
Best regards
Dieter

I'm trying to transfer a Google Play App to /System/app but everytime I reboot it dissapears.
I think this is because i have my device S-on.
¿Is there any solution to this? I have followed all "ES explorer" tutorials.
My device is rooted with magisk.
Thank You.

You can try with TWRP recovery. I deleted system apps from there, so maybe there's possibility to push apps there. Just go to Mount > then check System > go back > Advanced > File Manager > and try to put apk's to folder you want.

I have root but I can't delete/write files in system directory

Hi everyone.
I have
Android 9 + TWRP 323 + Magisk 16.7 + Magisk.apk
Root checker said that I have root.
SolidExplorer and Root Explorer can read root directory but cannot delete/write files in system directory.
Titanium Backup works good and restore applications.
What is wrong?
Thanks in advance.

It's working fine for me. I just added a folder to /system, then added a text file to that directory, then edited the file without issue. Android 9, rooted using Magisk 16.7 Beta. Do the file explorers have root permission in Magisk?
One thing that happened to me the other day: I felt like an app (Fi Switch) wasn't properly prompting for root. I went into Magisk's root settings and changed the Automatic Response for root access to "Grant" from "Prompt". Went back to Fi Switch, did the thing that required root, and it worked. Checked Magisk again and it had now registered FiSwitch as a permitted root app. Then I changed the setting back to "Prompt" (not sure it really matters., but it feels safer lol).
It's almost like it just wasn't asking for root, then it was getting denied. Temporarily allowing it fixed it.
I have no idea why that worked for me, but maybe it'll work for you

First of all, LP is a topic that can't really be discussed here, since it's against the warez part of the forum rules.
If you want to uninstall a system app and you do have root, you can do it via a root explorer (with MiXplorer for example). Just go to the root folder "/" then find the system folder. And you app will be in a folder inside the app or priv-app folder. "/system/app/your app" or "/system/priv-app/your app"
Delete the entire folder of your app once you found it, then reboot, and that should do it.
Remember that uninstalling system apps may brick your device (if you uninstall the wrong ones), but you want to uninstall the stock videoplayer so I don't think it is a problem.

Need to change root file permissions

Hi, I need to give read and write access to a couple little files in my root directory, but I can't find a file manager app that will do this. Among the ones I have tried are Root Explorer, which was recommended, and File Manager Root from Fdroid, but neither work. Can someone recommend an app or another way to do this? Thanks!

In modern android versions the /system partition is read only. Either you create an overlay with magisk, or you boot recovery. Twrp has a file manager or you use adb shell.

Question How to enable system write?

So, I got my phone rooted with Magisk, I'm running MIUI Global 13.0.3 Stable (SLDEUXM). Everything seems ok in the Magisk app and the Root Checker app says I'm rooted.
I'm trying to edit my build.pro file and it seems that de system folder is read-only and I can't change it's permissions. I tried ADB Shell, I tried editing it's properties with SolidExplorer, nothing works.
Is there some kind of lock in the system folder? How can I change the system folder permission?
Try root explorer. There you can click on the button r/o and change it to rw...
