Project treble, could be a change in the galaxys story?

Hi guys, i leaved galaxy's universe after i've sold my galaxy s6 which i used to mod without tripping knox thanks to a particoular bootloader. Now i want to buy an s9, i know that bootloader trick maybe can be impossible, but with the born of project treble we can get an aosp?
I've notice that samsung has implemented a system that deny users to flash diifferent regions firmwares.
I leaved samsung scene, So can anybody clear my ideas about the current situation and what is expected for the future?
I don't know!
I've been searching for an answer to this, but I can't find anything. I think we are just going have to wait till they come out and see. It boggles my mind that they don't at least let the unlocked US version be bootloader unlockable.
from my understanding, Treble won't do anything for you on a Snapdragon variant, it will only be good on the Exynos variant where you can unlock bootloader without issue.

Noob S9 Questions

Coming from a OnePlus3, which was easy to root and had tons of ROMs...
If I want the same with the S9, I need to buy the international version unlocked, correct?
Also I saw in the S8 thread that AOSP ROMs are not easily available, or still being worked on but OK for S9?
I'm looking for good hardware that I can root and debloat (titanium backup is a must for me and has saved me countless times).
I prefer the S8 because it is cheaper but not if AOSP is a problem.
Thoughts?
S9 has RMM implemented, long story short its a new feature of samsung that prevents you from flashing custom binaries (TWRP Included) to the phone for the first 7 days of using it.
Once you get your phone, finish set up wizard, connect a google and samsung account and wait 7 days for the OEM unlock button to appear. There are AOSP roms for the device, namely RR and Lineage OS.
I came from a oneplus 3 running AOSP resurrection remix 6.0 to the galaxy s9 a few days ago. I've been flashing phones for many years now, so I'm well versed in initially gaining root/custom recovery. This phone was a breeze to flash. The root guide in the tutorials section of this sub forum was great. Just make sure the usb drivers are on your pc and you follow the instructions exactly. I had resurrection remix 6.0 running on my galaxy s9 (exynos) in 10 mins after opening the box! [emoji106]
Thanks to you both. There are two international (non-US) variants - one with Exynos and one with Snapdragon.
Only the Exynos can be bootloader unlocked, correct?

I'm unsure about the bootloader abilities of the snapdragon variant. I only have the Exynos personally, which is unlockable.

Thanks. I got an answer in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-g9600-bootloader-question-t3795978?nocache=1
There is no TWRP for the snapdragon international variant so I will definitely stay away from it.

Best option if you want BL unlocked & root?

Given that it's now a total lottery as to how long it takes to get a BL unlock code from Xiaomi (could be up to 2 months), what's the best option?
Is it buying one with a Chinese ROM and unlocked BL, then immediately swapping to Xiaomi.EU / Global / RevolutionOS?
I don't much fancy a wait of up to 2 months to use a phone I've bought.
I've done this. Works fine with roms etc. Just have to be wary of making sure you know what your flashing etc.

Yes, get it from Tradingshenzen or similar with xiaomi.eu installed. Makes your life way easier. You can literally flash 8.8.9 eu or Revolution OS with a factory reset from TWRP and root.
Q. Hello,Is this finally true sealed Global Version with MIUI 9.6.7.0 and b20 or still with just Xiaomi.eu rom?Answer:
A. It should be now some 9.9 Version, from September, so no problems anymore.
This tends to suggest that Trading Shenzhen may now be supplying 'official' versions. So unclear whether BL will still be unlocked.

If you pick Xiaomi.eu as the preinstalled ROM it will always be a bootloader unlocked one they send your way.

They don't have that option currently. I'm not sure whether they will in future, I've asked the question.

You shouldn't have issues... On Redmi K20 Pro Premium with 8 or 12 GB RAM you can install Global MI and EEA ROM from Mi 9T Pro and it works without any issue...
Understood. Whats's region is rom's EEA?

Nope no issues...roms are not internal storage and ram specific...same rom works on both 4gb, 64 and 6gb, 128...do not lock bootloader when on other region devices or your device might be bricked

you can flash EEA rom too but don't lock bootloader on any other region roms. Xiaomi has weird rules that states that if you try to relock bootloader on other region roms your device will be bricked.. Better not to lock bootloader. It's not a big deal anyway. Moreover after unlocking bootloader and root you can remove bloatware like ads and chinese apps etc and a few other things..you can also try xiaomi.eu rom which is debloated(you can still debloat more),customized, tweaked, deodexed and a bit optimized.

Here's the thing you don't understand..Just because you're on warranty doesn't mean you have to keep your bootloader locked. Like I said if you lock your bootloader on other region roms like global, europe, chinese, russian etc your device might be bricked..Only lock your bootloader on indian rom as that is the rom for your region. You can flash indian rom anytime and lock bootloader and your warranty will be there.
For flashing different region roms you can flash through recovery yes but fastboot method is recommended.

Now I have understood, is because in another thread of xda, have seen the information about lock or not, which rom is ok and not to lock again, for this i have asked for you. So, if i not unlock the bootloader but install indonesian rom by recovery, it works? or i have to unlock anyway?

You have to unlock bootloader first..with locked bootloader you can't do anything.
If I flash other FW or similar, can I unlock 4G bands B7 (2600 mhz) & B20 (800 mhz) on the 6 GB ram 128 gb version?

Mate 20 X EVR-N29 to China rom

Any way to flash the China rom on the global model?
Any special reason for that? What you will gain with the change of Rom ?
Beta rom testing China gets more updates than the global model
Yes, but isn't it getting more unstable ? Too many betas are always not so "safe" for your device ....
