Hi. I have a KLD MTCE with an 8" screen. It seems that the screen is soft plastic not glass. I scratched it with my finger tip from swiping through the menus. Does anyone else have this issue? Is the front of display replaceable? Thanks

Noticed this also today. Been setting everything up and running this week, and noticed several scratches in middle of the screen. Bought screen protector and installed it. Had to cut it to fit. It made scratches little harder to see.

I bought the protector from a local shop here in Finland.
My new pumpkin unit has visible scratches, never had this happen with my joying units. Must be a way to save money.
Same issue there with my Belsee unit (KLD), the screen doesn't seem to have any glass protection and is pretty dark, hard to see in sunlight.
These unit screens seem quite poor
Had the same problem with my wondefoo unit. I Disasembled the unit to polish scratches out and add a screen protector. But then i see it was an additional production film/layer on the screen. Only that was scratched. Removed it and now the real glass is visible and its real stable. No scratches so far.

I am using Vikuiti™ screen protector ADQC27 for
Samsung I5800 Galaxy 3 since Octomber and i must say that it is awesome! None scratch, and very good feeling!
Information
Crystal-clear and anti-reflective, hard-coated, dirt-repellent, very simple assembly, residue-free removal
The totally new 3M Vikuiti™ screen protector ADQC27 is designed for application on electronic screens and offers reliable protection from scratches and soiling.
The surface of the film is as smooth and shiny as glass. Adhesive and film are both crystal clear so that when applied, the film appears transparent. The special feature of this film is an additional anti-reflection coating that, in comparison to normal films, reduces the intensity of mirror images. The screen contrast can thereby be increased In high ambient light areas (if the screen is not already equipped with an anti-reflection coating). Black becomes even blacker.
The hard coating of the Vikuiti™ screen protector ADQC27 furthermore offers optimal mechanical protection from scratches. An additional non-adhesive layer ensures that the protective film is also dirt-repellent enabling the removal of ball-point pens and marker pens ink through dry wiping.
An optimised adhesive layer ensures an easy-to-apply, bubble free application of the Vikuiti™ screen protector ADQC27. The adhesive layer is only slightly adhesive and readily forms a film over even surfaces. The protective film can easily be removed or repositioned at any time.
The film is optimised for use on resistive and capacitive touch screen and does not impair operability.
Our Vikuiti™ screen protectors are cut by laser in Germany on state-of-the-art machinery. Exact tailoring to forms and excellent border adhesion are guaranteed.
One package (set) contains:
1 Vikuiti™ screen protector ADQC27. For devices with multiple displays, the package contains one film for each display.

Has anyone ordered a screen protector for their device?
I purchased one for my Acer from Amazon. I ended up returning my Acer due to a hardware defect. The screen protector came in the mail the other day. It seems as though it covers just the screen, and not the entire front face of the device. If the screen protectors for the Tab is the same way, then I will use this one. If not, I will return for one that will protect the entire front face of the device.

Is there documentation online stating that it does not have gorilla glass?
So far, I'm seeing YouTube videos showing that it does.

Im so sick of that answer. Gorilla glass scratches the same as normal glass. That said, my tablet doesn't fit in my pocket like my phone does so its not subjected to debris that will scratch it. I use them on phones but not on tablets.

I ordered a Full Body Invisible Shield yesterday. If you want and when I get the tab in, I'll take pictures of the final results.
I personally like the feel of the invisibleshields fro Zagg. I have one on my captivate, laptop and will on the tab. They are defiantly not for everybody and when really clean can make finger slides on surfaces kinda skip.
anyone try these ? Overstock item# 13692828. For $4.49 with no shipping, how wrong can this be ?

You could, but to do it properly you'd have to find a way to separate your digitizer from the original broken glass and re-seal the new glass to the digitizer. This is extremely difficult and nearly impossible to do properly outside of a factory equipped with the proper equipment and it is far easier to simply buy a new digitizer assembly.
If it's just a scratch and not a crack, I would recommend simply putting a wet-application screen protector on the device. According to many posters around here, that typically covers scratches very well and protects from future scratches.

Screen protector, screen protector, SCREEN PROTECTOR.
This is my third one, and I don't care for it. Two Skinomi's, and a TG I loved, but it covered the notification light (top & bottom black borders).
Anybody found one that is perfect? Or, did vendors give-up on this phone?

My Verizon Tempered Glass Screen protector, which I installed back in May, has been perfect. It looks like you're from the U.S given you came from the Sprint M8 so you can pick one up locally. They have zero lifting and covers the entire visible screen, both horizontally and vertical. Highly recommend it.

No problem! It's as thin, or even thinner than some plastic screen protectors too . Just thought I'd share because I've seen some thick ones

You might also check the newer Orzly 2.5D ProFit tempered glass. I haven't personally tried it yet, but has great reviews, and if I decide to replace mine (which is currently just a cheaper tempered glass that does not go edge to edge), I will probably be getting the Orzly
I'm waiting to receive a Rhino Shield in the mail. I'm currently using an Inskin tempered glass protector. Not bad, but it doesn't go to the edges completely and the sides of the protector have a little bit of air underneath. Still works well thought. My phone fell in the gravel face first from my pocket, and there's not even a scratch, so at least it does the job.
Have also been looking for an edge to edge protector.. The orzly is right up there, however I have switched my capacitive buttons so I can't use it. Would look stupid. Still on the hunt.
anybody try the nanocoatings yet?
Hey guys how many of you have left the pre installed screen protector on? And does the actual screen hold up to scratches ok and does the naked screen get fingerprints as bad as the screen protector does?

The pre-installed "screen protector" is a very thin piece of plastic similar to the ones you peel off new phones. I put my phone in my pocket with a few keys for a few hours and I was shocked to see TEARS (not scratches) all over the screen. So I immediately removed it to realize it's just thin plastic. I also noticed colors/brightness looked better without it as plastic is not as clear as glass and it affects screen visuals.
The actual screen has Gorilla Glass 3 it should resist scratches but a real screen protector is highly recommended.

Yes mate display looks even more impressive after you remove it glad it helped
The gorilla glass is really soft on this one, so it does scratch a lot (at least in my case). So now I got a tempered glass to mask the scratches and prevent new one from happening.
I just peeled off pre applied from my A70 , I use flip cover

My UK model, bought from the official Samsung online store, didn't come with a factory installed screen protector.
I'm running the latest May update but still find the fingerprint sensor only works 30% of the time despite registering the same thumb 3 times over.
I have a tempered glass protector on, but the sensor was just as poor without it. I find I use face unlock more than anything.
I can live with it, but it's quite a disappointing experience!

Was there any hard to remove left over adhesive?
No

Will the screen protector for the A80 fit the 70?
I like the no notch look of the one for the A80.
