Hey all together,
I've a Problem: Pixel Launcher eats my battery since tuesday. It's always on top and my battery is draining much faster than before.
What I've done before: Deleted all widgets, deleted cahce and Data from this app.
But nothing works.
After deleting data there is a second thing what makes me angry: The bottom bar with the google search and the 5 app icons bounces every time. I can't find a switch to kill this unnessessary thing.
Is soemone here who has an idea, what I can do next to fix those problems?

I'm trying to figure out exactly what's going on. I started having trouble with awful battery life on my Epic running stock EC05. I uninstalled a few things and tweaked some settings, but the reality was that I dropped from about 15 hours use to 8 hours use on a full charge. So I rooted and flashed a couple ROMs. I settled on Syndicate and things were trucking along nicely with normal (or better) battery life. Then it happened again. Down to about 8 hours of life for a full charge.
The only thing that is in common between the two is I downloaded and installed a weather widget just before things went to pot. On stock it was the WeatherBug widget and most recently Fancy Widget. I tried switching the updating to only once a day and only on WiFi, but it still chewed through the battery. So far, having removed Fancy Widget from my home screen looks to have solved the battery drain, but widgets aren't supposed to do that. I grabbed Spare Parts and looked at what was going on and found that my phone was spending the majority of its time awake or partially awake, even when I wasn't using it.
So, has anyone else experienced excessive battery drain after installing a weather widget? Do you use a custom launcher? Am I missing something else?
I have recently had this same problem. Thought I messed up soemthing with the install so I'm getting so good at wiping and reinstalling everything I did it again.
Didn't fix the problem. I was like WTF!!! So using Spare parts it was telling me my phone wasn't sleeping, but partial wake looked fine.
So I did the airplane toggle and that seemed to fix it. I did recently install beautfiul widgets. not sure it is related.
Ok, I have a problem. Something, and I have no idea what, is launching Gallery periodically. About five or six times I've noticed my battery being very low, and when I check the battery stats, Gallery will have used 50% or more of the battery. When I look at the stats, it might show it's been open for 8 hours or longer (I don't remember the exact breakdown of wake time, etc.) and I restarted my phone last night, so it's gone.
Last night, I finally got fed up and disabled the gallery app, but that means I lose the gallery app for those times I actually wanted to use it (versus when it's getting launched by a program, or maybe I inadvertently launch it and then launch something else and Gallery is sitting in the background chewing up battery).
Before disabling it, I tried installing advanced task killer, and I could never get it to kill any apps automatically, which included it not killing Gallery. I tried both safe and aggressive (or whatever the next setting is) and tried setting the kill frequency to screen off and every 30 minutes (or maybe it was an hour) and it never auto-killed any app.
So, any suggestions on what I can do to re-enable Gallery, but not have it periodically sitting in the background, burning battery like crazy?
So I received my moto 360 at the weekend, and it's pretty great, but the battery life so far has been horrendous. As in, 20%/hr, charge multiple times per day terrible.
I've uninstalled all Wear apps as far as I can tell, wiped my phone, reset my watch.
However, the top app for drain according to Android Wear app on my phone is an app with no name, and the default "little green android holding a package" app icon. I've no idea how to figure out what this culprit is, but I feel that my battery life should increase significantly if I do.
I've been on with Moto UK support, and described this problem to them. They've asked for a screenshot, which I provided, and said they'd get back to me.
Is there any way to identify all apps on my wear? I checked the storage stats but all the apps there have names and icons (except system apps)
Thanks!
For those wondering, it appears to have been WeChat. I had no idea that there was a wear component to that app, but Wear Battery Stats pointed me in the right direction.
Check this screen shot. I have kitkat 4.4.2. Had really bad battery life so I did factory reset but no improvement. I am very new to this forum. I am charging my phone 3 times a day. I have rooted this phone.
That screenshot doesn't give any helpful information. You want to give at least 4 hours with as minimal usage as possible
For better battery
1) make sure WiFi always scanning is disabled in WiFi advanced settings
2) only have auto sync enabled to what is necessary, or disable it altogether and manually sync
3) make sure Google now is disabled in its settings
Change your launcher, seems like your launcher is eating some battery too. and also turn off unncessary google services, like location, GPS etc.

Its only a minute of battery usage so I wouldn't worry about any those apps for now until they post a longer usage screenshot. You are correct about location and GPS, can't believe I forgot those
Those little tricks did amazing job. but second and third line are still bothering me. Is there any way to bring android system usage down?
Actually Every Android Phone will have usage with Android System, and OS.. So, when you get atleast 11 hrs, thats normal usage. Average is 10 hours of battery line per charge.
Nobody else has this issue? It does not matter what I do. I've made apps battery optimization exempt, I've changed any and all settings that you can and yet apps like Netflix, Samsung Health absolutely refuse to stay open for lengthy periods of time. Sometimes they're even still running and yet dissapear from the notification bar. I've tried everything. Even locking h m in the recent apps menu doesn't work. Is the an EMUI 5 bug?
