**MODS Please move this thread to Development threads, I'm not able to post there! Thanks **
I compiled Lineage 14.1 from sources on a server.. Took me 5 hours to solve errors and compile it
Thanks MoreSushant48for helping in everything ! <3
LINEAGE OS 14.1 (UNOFFICIAL) Latest build with better battery life and and less heating!
Running on 7.1.2
Security patch 5th February 2018 ( Probably the latest )
5 battery profiles to play with!
Power save
Efficiency
Balanced
Quick
Performance
Why to use this ROM instead of stock?
* Less heating! - In power save and efficiency profiles, you can do normal multitasking without any heating issues.
* Better battery life! - I'm not a heavy user! I got around 2 hours Screen on Time with 75% battery remaining with 7-8 hours Standby! So, if you use this as your daily driver and you are a normal user, you can expect 2-3 days standby easily!
* Better performance (may increase heating issues) - Use the Performance profile and see the magic! it'll start over heating but you'll see better performance though!
* Gestures, and customization of Lineage OS!
What's Working?
Wifi
Camera
Bluetooth
NFC
All major stuffs!
What's not working / Weird BUGS?
* sound and Screenshot sound is annoying (even in silent profile)
Disable it by going into /system/media/audio/ui and start looking for the .ogg file for the sound.
Just rename the file to xxxxxx.ogg.bak
* I can't find anything else Report here if you can find any bugs!
Download -
ROM - here
GAPPS - ARM64 / 7.1 / (I recommend Pico) - here or Open GApps
I'm still a newbie! I'll be compiling resurrection remix in few days! It would be awesome if someone can help me with Android O tree, so I can try to build some Oreo rom for Kinzie!
Awesome work bro!

Awesome to see someone is still developing for this device!
Question: What about MotoDisplay (the notification feature when you pick up the phone)? Did you include these apps?

I wanted to keep it simple!
And without the moto display and other services, the battery life is awesome!
Getting 6-7 hours Screen on Time...
(I flashed the rom last night, and now while typing its 16 hours since last charge..and 6.5 hours screen on time)
I would appreciate some help if someone can try to get oreo tree for kinzie..
it is good rom. but restart phone any time without reason
Thanks for informing me

Moto display is only available on Moto Stock Roms, you will find AMBIDENT DISPLAY in settings->Display which works same as the moto display

@Sweetie
Can you share the sources you used to build your version? I'm especially interested in kernel sources.
I'm also working on LOS for kinzie and found several issues related to kernel on my builds.
I would like to compare it with what you used on your side.
And what about camera quality, autofocus etc. compared to stock rom camera app? Is there noticeable quality loss? This is usualy only thing that make me stay with stock roms on other phones.

Yeah it works good, but I think it is losing quality.. maybe I'm not sure.... stock one looked better I think.
Still it's quite good!

I used this as tree!
You can try this too! https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/commit/?h=linux-3.10.y
Hi, hope you could answer these questions for your ROM.
1. Is the ROM compatible with X Force running on Android 7.0 Nougat?
2. How is the camera quality vs stock camera?
3. Are the chop chop flashlight and double twist for camera included in this ROM?
4. Any performance issue?
Thanks for continuing to develop for Moto X Force. Appreciate it a lot!
1. Rom is compatible with Android N 7.0 stock Firmware
2. Camera qlty not sure about but stock one is better (little diffrence)
3. Gestures are located in Settings of LineageOS and should work (i dont use them ) also more gestures are there as compared to stock rom
4.Didnt see the performace issue in LOS14.1 and battrey life should be good as already mentioned

Guys, my Z2 is now on LOS 16 and getting ~6 hours of SOT with stock kernel and without any modifications. But the customization is very low compared to some other ROMs. I want to know which ROM has lots of features and customizations with good stability?

For customization try bootleggers and msm xtended.
Msm Xtended and Syberia OS - Filled with customizations
Aosip - Stable and decent customizations
Thanks for the replies. I found a couple of people suggests AOSiP for both stability and customizations. To AOSiP users, is there any annoying bug in the ROM which you face in the day to day use?
How about Resurrection Remix and Carbon ROM?

No bugs in AOSiP, very smooth ROM. Wifi disconnects some times (doesn't annoy me), but I guess this problem is prevelant in all popular pie ROM's
Guys, if you're using Resurrection Remix ROM or the Carbon ROM could you please give some reviews of these? Like SOT, stability, features, customizations, etc.?

Yes, I have this problem constantly in all of the Android Pie ROMs. For me the Wi-Fi disconnects both whilst using the device and also when the device is in sleep mode. It's annoying because when the Wi-Fi disconnects in sleep mode, it will not reconnect until I manually wake the phone. So I end up missing a lot of important notifications. I heard from other people who also have the same problem. One person said that having his phone in airplane mode (with Wi-Fi enabled) made the problem worse. This is also the same in my experience.
Confused on which ROM to choose. Not enough experienced/ knowledge to understand the differences. Need for daily use.
While trying these ROM's felt curious to know Why are there so many ROM's? Why not all develop single/few standard ROM's?
Just ignore the "ROMs" from degrus, they are not real ROMs, they are s-gsi which is like a rom but not device optimised and with a lot of bugs. There is literally one real q ROM for p2. Derpfest from Astridxx

There is already so much hate out there. Please, don't scar this community which helps each other without asking anything. Degrus has done a mistake but he is working hard to push good quality ROMs for P2. Don't blabber wrong info in each thread.

Do not be confused. There are so many developers that they all want to push their own thing but at back-end, all the ROMs are same with same features. Only differences will be found in stability, battery life and bootanimation etc. Android 10 ROMs are in alpha/beta phase at the moment so if you want to enjoy Android 10 features without much fuss then go for most stable ROM which is Bootleggers 4.3 (Android 9). If you want to test Android 10 then go for latest Havoc 3.0. It is the best of all Android 10 ROMs for P2.
And do not pay heed to hatemongers. They are doing nothing but talking bull****. Good luck!
its just that bootleggers doesnt have pixel nav bar and fp hw touch is not used. And at the end Havoc feels stable with a lot customizations. Thanks for the info.

During setup, a restart adjusts all the things. Havoc 2.9 is good but it doesn't have good integration of themes with system UI. That's why I don't recommend it.
Agreed. It's pointless because they are roughly the same, save for maybe an imported function and a fancy boot animation. We should have like two 9.0 and two 10.0 ROMs at most. Instead we have a dozen.
And they all seem to have that damn FP gesture bug.
Hello Everyone, I want to know what is the best custom rom so far for Note 8T (willow)?
There's no best rom. They all are on same base(AOSP, MIUI or CAF) in different names. So, you will get approximately same performance on similar based roms. This is the ranking of roms in terms of performance and optimization: CAF>AOSP>MIUI. You'll get minimal to no customization on CAF rom while AOSP and MIUI is customizable. You'll get a mixture of high customization, performance and better battery life on AOSP. That's why most of the users use AOSP. Now, coming to different names of AOSP roms. If you want highest level of customization then go for Bliss, MSM Extended and Resurrection Remix. And if you want minimal to no bugs, go for the rests.

MSM Xtended XQ Release v13 [Android10][September 19th, 2020] by xawlw

[ROM][10.0] crDroidAndroid v6.5 for Redmi Note 8/8T [Unified][Official] by mg712702 (Good one too, nice, stable and fully usable as daily driver)
Others with bad reviews weren't worth testing.

well , you tested 10 ? i tested 178
the only credible rom you mention is MSM it's way better than coltos in everyway, customisation performance and battery life
do the benchmarks and test your self ...
plus i think it's worth saying that they both have call log bug,and MSM 13 ram usage is higher than MSM 12.5
so the title best for any of those is questionable ...
anyway, my ranking is :
1-RRos
2-AospExtended-v7.3
3-MSM Xtended v12.5
4-SuperiorOS
(based on performance/customisation/battery life)
AOSiP-10 is also good but ram usage is high, which impact also performance in heavy apps/games/streaming ...

Cool, my friend, cool. Not arguing but exchanging information. You are comfortable with MSM Xtended OK, I'm comfortable with ColtOS which by the way doesn't have that call log bug if you mean call history and all the calls statistics.
Ofc, it has other bugs like freezed face attention setting, yellowish tint in camera for what I've noted so far but that's not really a big deal.
Anyway thanks for sharing your findings about the RN8/8T Android 10 custom roms.

All AOSP rom(A10) has bugs or less features. Bliss not only has this problem but also connectivity issues. It's better to use stable miui 11 from EU. After debloating you'll get a smooth performance. But miui 11 lacks A10 gesture?

miui can't be full debloated (you touch "security" or "find device" or any related crap and you are in bootloops)
plus it has bad ram managment and battery life sux
the other roms i talked about are A10 and they work waaaaay better ...
OK guys, I tested 2 more Android 10 Roms, Bliss and MSMX. @Pavello, they're just fine as you said, nevertheless, my conclusion hasn't changed, ColtOS is my favorite. End of story. See you on 11 hopefully!
I have also tried some custom ROMs and at the moment I am using Resurrection Remix | Redmi Note 8 / 8T. Very happy, but when I roll back to miui nfc no longer works in miui. It seems that all custom-roms do something so that nfc no longer works in miui. I have used miui-rom in fast-boot, but no luck.
I am not alone in this and there are many who have the same problem.
Any thoughts / solutions?
Xiaomi.eu is probably the best yet right now.... It come with miui 12 on android 10 and it seems to be super stable... Also lineage maybe second best rom if you want a clean build of android

Hey,
I have a Poco F3, I unlocked the bootloader recently, and I want to know which ROM should I get or is the best for you. I tried xiaomi.eu, but I prefer AOSP/pixel (I tried some, but I can't make a choice). What is the best, I know for now there is crDroid, Pixel Experience Plus but unofficial, Pixel Extended, etc Should I wait for more stable, official or new custom ROMS ?
What are the pro/cons or features of each ?

Edit : anyone can share his opinion here and/or ask on this thread

Thanks in advance !
In terms of features you can't get more feature rich then crdroid. Most ROMs are rock stable and the one main missing feature dt2w is going to be coming in the next week or so. I'm currently using pixel extended and I've had no problem and am thoroughly enjoying it

Running Lineage on mine, with Quantic kernel, Micro-g, I am getting insane battery life, This phone has been an amazing upgrade for me after being on Mi6 for over 3 years.
for a beta Build, I have yet to run into a single issue, everything is running smoothly.
I have the feeling this phone will receive lots of love from developers and will have custom roms for years to come.
Edit: on my build I have finally fixed battery drain when, double tap, ambient pick-up, or AOD is enabled, it makes no difference, my phone dozes beautifully at night. How is it with other ROMs?
The key for me and everyone i think is the kernel, no matter what I changed with the original kernel that comes with lineage the phone gets no doze, only when I use Quantic + Lineage everything is 100%.

Running Lineage on mine, with Quantic kernel, Micro-g, I am getting insane battery life, This phone has been an amazing upgrade for me after being on Mi6 for over 3 years.
for a beta Build, I have yet to run into a single issue, everything is running smoothly.

Did you flash the kernel only via TWRP or is it TWRP and fastboot dtbo?
Also, have you had issues surrounding running apps like Google Maps or Kodi? They install and boot up but crash seconds later.
best currently MIUI BASED rom? ive tried miui.eu but ive found some bugs.

I believe there is a telegram group, I don't have telegram or any other chat app so I rely on XDA. I am using my own Frankenstein build though, where I borrowed features from all roms but I use lineage as base.

Nice! If you are comfortable sharing a build I would surely try it once I receive my device, I've been on Lineage for years!
