Hi everyone,
Are SMS applications not scanning SMS's content for filtered keywords and they only applying filter on the title (sender id) or they somehow broken and not working in my phone?
None of the applications i tried are working. Is there any app which can instantly delete any sms contains a filtered verb? How do you deal with gateway sms spammers?

I would like to develop an application which listens for incoming SMS, verify which ones are email notifications and automatically starts Activesync to retrieve emails, synchronize calendar and so on.
Is this feasible?
I have heard that you can't use the sms API as the interface is stolen by the 'phone edition' bit and you have to use the CE MAPI interface instead, working on SMS once they have been stored in the Inbox.
Any experience with this? Code bits?
Thanks, ciao,

SMS notifications
You can use the RIL interface to get notification of about anything to do with the GSM part. However, it is not very well documented. If you go to the URL below you'll find a small app that will display notifications for incoming SMS messages and incoming SMS status reports.
However the message part is still encoded! There are some library calls that can decode the message, but I have not yet figured it out.

Recently upgraded to 6.1. Honestly, I hate the threaded SMS feature. I disabled it through the registry but not until I accidentaly opened my Inbox and it started to consolidate my SMS.
My question is, deos it somehow store them in a DB? If i delete all my SMS, will the DB also be cleared? If I disable threaded SMS, would I recover the used space?
Also, I know there's an app that allows you to enable/disable threades SMS on the fly. can you point me to that app?
All my contacts use international number format (+xxxxxxxxxx) and are stored on gmail severs. Unboxed and setup the desire with my gmail, facebook and twitter accounts. Synced well and got all my facebook and gmail contacts. Here's the issues I'm having:
- I live in Lebanon where incoming numbers display 03123456 (03 is the mobile prefix) whereas i have stored them as +9613123456. My desire is not matching the incoming call to the corresponding entry in the phonebook. Never had this problem before on Nokia & BB.
- Incoming SMS seems to be working fine and matching the right contact. However, when I receive an SMS from an unknown short number (any commercial message), the desire matches the sms to a random facebook contact based on some weird recognition algorithm. Worse, if I click on that contact's avatar in the message thread, I get an application error (process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly...)
Any insight would be appreciated. Hoping for an easy fix!
I had the very same problem (commercial messages...) I deleted the contacts that were appearing (didnt use them often...). After deleting the 2nd or 3rd the problem was rectified. Not sure exactly why it was associating those contacts to the messages???
Strange.....
I noticed that these matched accounts had bogus data in their Facebook profile (phone number).
My major concern is the first issue. Anyone having the same problem?
Bump. Anyone?
Hey guys,
i'm currently using Backup to Gmail to backup my SMS.
However i'm a little bit confused about the way it saves the sender and receiver contacts in gmail.
i can only see the name of the sender in my gmail account sms folder - not the number.
But how about restoring the messages? And especially if there are messages from people i don't have anymore in my contact list.
Can anyone bright me up?
cheers
Maxim
I have by mistake blocked incoming text messages from one of my important contacts using AVG Antivirus. All the txt messages from that contact are going to the blocked messages section in the call n message blocker section of avg antivirus. How to read the blocked messages in avg antivirus. I cannot read full messages even after unblocking the contact. Please tell me some way to read full content of the blocked messages in avg antivirus or some way to transfer those messages to my phone's message inbox. Your help will be appreciated.
Go to SMS, use left soft-key to launch options. You should be seeing 'Spam messages' option, just touch it to view all spam messages.
I do not have anything inside since I've not marked anything as spam yet, I believe you can restore them to inbox.
I did not find any option like spam messages.I unexpectedly blocked a contact.how to read the blocked messages?
