[Q] control all volume levels with the volume buttons?

hey guys.
i currently use Volume Button Controller and it does an excellent job at keeping my volume levels where I set them. unfortunately i have to set them through the actual app. if i change the volume up or down with the volume keys it only affects the ringer or media, depending on where i do it.
is there an app, or better way a framework edit, that will make the volume buttons control all the volume levels at once? i'm willing to try smali or xml edits as necessary. just need guidance as to where.
thanks!
I use audio manager and use the widget or you can load it in the taskbar. It will let you adjust system volume, media volume, ring volume, in call and alert volume. Nice and easy.
yeah Volume Button Controller has a widget as well and it works well. that's not my question.
i'm asking if there is a way to make it a permanent change so that the volume buttons control ALL volume levels simultaneously without having to open an app or use a widget.
BUMP...
nobody has ever felt the need for this mod?
here's from JsChi, who can do anything with Android but as I understand is very busy with all the other requests:
I'm thinking it certainly would be possible to do what you want, and it would likely be in framework.jar

anyone?
I found your post because I was googling for the exact same thing. Here's the only solution I could find... search for Master volume control by SanelS in the market.
I was going to try it out, but there are some negative comments in the market that made me hesitate... I also would hate to turn down the master volume and realize in the morning that it turned down the alarm sound as well.
Let me know if you end up trying it out...

Bump. I'm looking for the same thing...
There are some ways you can do it with tasker. I've got my audio drop to zero when on silent (but not on vibrate) and I also have it reduced when I plug headphones in. I can post my profiles if you are interested.
I am pretty sure you can do the same for the volume buttons.

[Q] Volume Levels Not Changing with Tasker or Profiles Apps

Since getting my S3, I have had a problem scheduling volume profiles in Tasker. The profiles are running (and they worked perfectly on my SII) but the volume levels refuse to change. I have tried several other apps (Profile Scheduler, Volume Control, etc) and they all have similar problems - they execute just fine, but the volume levels stay stuck.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this? Im looking for a time-based condition to trigger my sound volumes. I am running Ariel with Ktoonsez kernel (if that makes any difference).
Thanks in advance! This has been driving me crazy!

I can just add that on my Samsung S 5, im having almost the same problem. Volume (Alarm, Media and Notification) refuse to change. (The progress bar on the phone doesn't change as well).
Moreover... The task mutes the volume successfully.... Having set volume to 0. But the same task refuses to work when required to change the volume back to original or to maximum.
I cannot help you, but just letting community know that probably the same problem exists on S5 also....

Stock volume app

Ever since I've changed to the AOKP or Paranoid-AOKP-Kang rom, I've noticed that even at the lowest setting (1%) my music volume is way too loud & when I have my headphones on it's all the much louder. I had to download an app called Fine Tune Volume v2 which allows me to adjust the volume in smaller increments. Is there a way or can someone share a way to make the stock volume controller work in the same manner?
Anyone?
Okay another question: Is there a way to remove the stock volume controller & have/use a 3rd party volume controller (like the one I downloaded) without having a bunch of force closes or errors?

[Q] Force volume keys to change media volume

I always use ringtone/notification volume at max, or i switch the phone to vibrate...
but if I want to turn off media volume BEFORE i open an application that has a sound, i have to go inside the settings menu.
is there a way to force the volume keys to change only media volume?
anyone has an idea?

What about if you use Tasker to make a script that first adjusts media volume and then launches the app?

[Q] Req: app using volume buttons to control volume profiles

Hello, I have searched for this for some time now, but I cannot find any app to do it:
I want to use the volume buttons to change volume profiles.
This way I can create these profiles:
- Silent
- Vibrate
- Soft (ringer, notifications and media)
- Normal (ringer, notifications and media to a 'normal' volume)
- loud (all volume channels a bit louder)
- max (all volume channels louder, some on max)
Changing should not cycle, zo when pressing the Volume+ several times the 'max' profile is chosen and keeps chosen.
Who knows an app that can do this?
Anybody that knows an app or softmod which can do this?
I only see apps with shortcuts on the desktop or from notification bar, but redirecting the volume buttons like this is nowhere to be seen...
There's a defect issue for Android with a request to force the buttons to change a specific volume channel, but that's still something different.
I would love to know how Tasker can use the buttons immediately, without only noticing the volume chance of channels. This way I can make my own tasker task with the volume button up and down.
Currently I am investigating 'Quick click' (downloadable from app store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blor.quickclickgold)
It at least looks promising - the rest can be done via Tasker, I think
