Album Art in Gallery. How to hide it? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I've got a bunch of music on an SD card on my S9. And EVERY album cover shows up in Gallery. Multiple times. I can hardly find my own images anymore. Is there any way to prevent the album covers from showing up in Gallery?
.nomedia does this, but it also prevents the files from appearing in music apps, which sort of defeats the purpose.
Thanks much.

half of my Album covers missing after Update?

any ideas how to fix this?
I copied in an album cover again into the album folder, but its not being picked up by the music player. It shows up in the gallery in problem though.
argh.. I guess my thumbnail cache files have been deleted or something. well, only half of them? half still appear fine?
any solutions? where to copy the cover.jpg file etc?
Sorted...
I just moved all of my albums from the MP3 folder on the SD card into the media\audio directory and called all the album art jpegs to AlbumArt.jpg.
Picked them all up immediately.

[Q] Album art

Could some1 pls explain how album art works on Gnex/ICS?
I have some folders with mp3s given by a friend which have a jpg into every folder, and when playing a song from that folder the album cover is displayed correctly, while I have other folders created by me with so jpg at all, still when playing songs for some of them I do see the album art, and for a few is compltetely wrong.
I have tried deleteing cache and data of music app, with no results at all.
thanks
Album art always either loads from a .jpg within a directory or is already attached to the files ID3 tag. (FYI this is how its been for a very long time now)
Pick a decent ID3 tag editor or use iTunes or Winamp and edit it and you should see the album cover in there.

So I put .nomedia in my music folders, now how do I get my music to show up!?

I hate how all my music album covers show up in the gallery, so I put a .nomedia file in the folders to prevent the gallery being cluttered. Well, now my music players won't recognize any music files.
Does anyone know how to make music files appear in the player and have no album covers in the gallery?

Have you tried GalleryExcluder from the Playstore? You can hide any image or set of images with it from the gallery.

It looks like this app is no longer in the play store.
Here you go. I pulled a copy from an old backup.

[Q] Gallery showing Album Art.

While I do like to stare at album art while my music is playing, it bothers me how it shows up in the Gallery, not to mention it increases the load time.
I have attempted already to give the folders a .originalthefolder name as well as the files .originalthefilename prefix, but while this works, it makes the album art dissapear in Poweramp and every other music application as well.
Is there a workaround for this without me having to prefix them with a . I have alot of music so embedding it is an option, but would take me a very long time, and some of my albums have two album arts for different disks.

Blurred photos in Album

I've noticed that some old photos appear first in the album randomly even if I delete them. And also some photos are blurred. I'm using the Album app that was preinstalled when I bought the phone. Someone with the same problem and know how to fix this?
Had it before. If they are blurred duplicates of the photos you already have, chances are its the thumbnails. Just locate the Thumbnail Folder ( varies for devices ) and create a ".nomedia" file in there to exclude that portion from being scanned.
After which be sure to Clear your Album App Data in settings A quick restart after that should do the trick.
