Hi all
I got a bricked Asus 7" Tab and I would like to fix it.
It does not have any marking on it, not even on the inside.
I don't know how to identify the device, it is probably Asus Fonepad 7 but that one has multiple versions and flashing wrong firmware could have bad results.
If I plug it in PC, the PC detects is as CLOVERVIEW device.
I tried different button combinations, but useless (Vol+ Power, Vol- Power, Vol+ Vol- Power)
Please help me how to identify and fix it.
Best regards,
Janos

So the issue i'm having is when put my battery in or plug the phone into any power source it boots up and stops at the lg splash screen. I have tried going into recovery mode via power + vol down key combination and it dose not allow it in it just stays on lg screen. the other issue is when i plug it into my computer i get a notification saying that the usb device is not recognized i have tried putting it to usb mode via power + vol up key but still no dice. This happened after flashing cyanogen 7 to my phone it worked fine for a few days then i turned it off one night as to not be bothered with calls. the next morning it started this problem. i have browsed the forums looking for a solution none of which seem to have worked. any insight into this would be nice
notes:
-can not get into recovery mode / cwm
-can not put to usb mode
-for the issue with it not being recognized by the computer i have tried 3 different cables on win 8,7 and vista and on both my laptop and desktop using different usb ports. going to try xp tonight
-exact device model = P925g Optimus 3d with Rogers canada.
-to the forum admin pleas feel free to move this thread into the right section if i posted in the wrong one
Turn the phone off
Hold down the volume down key and then plug in the USB cable. See if you get something.
this forum is for the optimus g. not sure if that is what u have.

I have been trying to read on forums, etc.. but I see that people with similar issue get answers like.. connect phone, download so and so on phone, set phone for usb debugging, etc,,. BUT the phone is not seen when connected to a PC..
I have no way top do anything to the phone..manually or with PC.... :crying:
how to proceed from here ? What is ASUS doing on this ? I try to find ASUS service in Austria but cant find it.

go into bootloader, use fastboot.exe to command "fastboot erase cache" without quotes.

What did you do? You tried to flash something through tethered recovery?
You can try to press and hold power to turn off the phone.
Then press power and volume up, when there is vibrate, release the power, hold the volume up till you see asus logo. Wait and you are in fast boot. press down and choose recovery.
when you see the dead android and !, press power and volume up then quickly release them both. Now you can wipe cache.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I had tried everything.. but the dead Android with ERROR does not go away. I gave up and went to a handy shop to see if they can restore the system. In the end there are many little things and tricks you need to knowI and if you have not the experience, maybe it is better to use a technician.
i let you guys know what they did.
Thanks again...
By the way... STAY AWAY from EGLOBAL CENTRAL. 3 days later and after emails, etc.. no reply what so ever... great customer service ( company in Honk Kong, phone from UK ( never answered ) and website for every nation...germany, Ausztria, etc.. but nobdy to talk to... )

Hello ! I had a problem on my FE375CG. It was rooted, and after an ASUS update, my device stuck with only a USB logo on the screen ! No Boot Droid nothing. There was a lot of error and I was unable to flash my device with Fastboot...
But I prepared a kit with a lot a tools to unbrick the devices ! I don't really know who are the authors of this tools, but here is the pack !
First Download the package : "Unbrick_Fonepad_7.zip" : https://mega.nz/#F!qM0EECyA
Second, unzip the package. Install the ADB drivers and the Intel DnX USB Drivers.
Then, Maintain + and - and power on your device for 4 secondes. The screen should remain off.
Connect the tablet to your computer : It should be recognize, screen remaining off.
Then you have to run the "Predowngrade.cmd" in the "3 - PreDebrick" directory.
At the end, you will see an Intel Logo (hourra). Disconnect you device, power off.
Then you have to run the "Downgrade.cmd" in the "3 - Full Debrick" directory.
The processus will stop, and the intel logo appears again.
Maintain + and - and power on your device for 4 secondes. The screen should remain off.
Disconnect you device, power off.
Then, Maintain + and - and power on your device for 4 secondes. The screen should remain off.
Reconnect your device
And hit enter on your computer.
And... Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! It should work again ^^ ! You have just to flash the last firmware with Bootdroid ! Last firmware can be found here : https://www.asus.com/support/Download/28/7/0/10/Ss6JyhD8bOcmeH6f/32/
Sorry for my english, I'm french ^^ ! Hope it will help some peoples.
Will this work for k004?
Hello,
my FE375CG is bricked: when I turned it on, it's stuck on INTEL logo.
I tried your method, but, after third passage, I can't turned it off. So I waited battery discharge, but when I plug to recharge, the tablet turned on and stuck on INTEL screen, I' can't proceed to the fourth step (I' can't maintain + and - and power on your device for 4 seconds, it turns itself on, remains on INTEL bootscreen and I can't do anything)
Have you some suggestions?

Your tutorial is not working for ASUS K004 and file xfstk-dldr-solo can not be run..
My device is not recognized by the pc. It shows the usb logo everytime. I opened the back cover and disconnected the battery. As soon as i connect the battery it turns on by itself, vibrates twice and shows the usb logo. it only turns off if i disconnect the battery. Without the battery it has the same behaviour if i connect the usb cable. None of the keys works except the VOL- or VOL+ and VOL - or PWR and VOL-. If i press vol- or any combination that has VOL- and connect the battery or the cable the device wont turn on and is not detected by the pc. If i do it with vol + or power or a combination of both it starts like i said earlier with two vibrations and the usb logo but not being detected. I'm lost because it being detected by the pc is a requirement. I installed drivers from folder 1 - ASUS_Android_USB_drivers_for_Windows and folder 2 - IntelDnXUSBDriverSetup.
The device is a FE375CG (K019) Asus Fonepad 7
Tried with windows 10 x64 on 2 different computers.
PS: I have disabled driver signature enforcement.
Hi
How can I obtain .img files for K00E (me372cg) ?
if Predownload Cmd worked just proceed to full debrick Download-3cmd then install updated firmware BESURE TO RENAME OFFICIAL FIRMWARE TO MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip it will auto install in recovery mode.
Hello,
I've got a water damaged OP3 (it was in a pool for about 1min). Now after a few days having it in a pot of rice and cleaning the logic board with 100% isopropanol it finally woke up when pressing power button.
My problem now: It just shows up with a Linux Logo (a small Tux in the middle of the screen) and then turns off after 3 seconds. If I connect it with a charger, the screen persists for the moment.
When pressing + holding volume up button, windows recognizes it as "unknown usb device" and screen stays black.
I only need to access the flash to rescue some of my recent (of course not backed up) data.
What do you suggest? Could I try the unbrick the phone or do these symptons point to a irreversible hardware damage?
Is there a way to read the flash without flashing (or with flashing a minimum set of) stock image?
best regards and thanks in advance!

you better avoid doing experiments on op3. Symptoms you have mentioned in your thread, tells that your has been flashed (don't have usb drivers,no os,no firmware). I have faced same problem with my letv le 1s. It is a software problem. Your phone is totally empty. So do contact with any software technician, he uses sp flash tool to wake up the device. Download sp flash tool and follow procedure. If sp flash tool is detecting your device then it means your device hardware is fine.

Have you installed the necessary drivers in Windows for the phone to show up as Qualcom HS-USB..........Loader9008? Otherwise your phone will not be recognised when you do volume press for 10 seconds and connect. Even if it is recognised in this "service" mode, you may be able to unbrick/restore your phone but in the process, the entire phone would be wiped clean. (I know since I have done it).

I've tried to get the phone into EDL Mode (Qualcomm chip), but had no success, phone vibrates and windows recognizes an "unknown usb device" (pressed Volume Up and connected to USB, phone was definitely turned off). But I am not able to get the device recognized as "QHSUSB_BULK" which - afaik - is the prerequisite to install the Qualcomm USB Driver und go on with the unbrick procedure..
I hope anyone got some idea how to get the phone back to life..

Your understanding of the unbrick steps is not correct. Initially the phone will not show up at all or may show up as unknown or something else. It is only when you install the EDL mode drivers and then hold the power button down for 40 seconds and the hold down the volume up button for 10 seconds and connect to PC, will it show up in the EDL mode. Ofcourse you will have to disable the driver signature verification before installing the drivers.
Read the Unbrick Guide again and install the drivers before trying to connect.

Thanks so far, but being a software developer myself I am not a totally beginner. I followed the guide, also read it twice etc.. Also tried another USB cable including the original Oneplus cable.
When plugging it in while pressing Volume Up my Linux laptop reports this:
Code:
[40474.458362] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40475.426231] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40475.426354] usb usb3-port2: attempt power cycle
[40476.710061] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40477.677934] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40477.678051] usb usb3-port2: unable to enumerate USB device
On my windows machine the device manager reports "Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Any suggestions? It seems that the device has lost all firmware etc. and there is no EDL left on the device.
EDIT:
With holding Vol(-) and Power I could get rid of the Tux Penguin and enter fastboot and recovery of the phone.. NAND seems to be okay, can decrypt my internal storage.. The USB port doesn't work in recovery (same error like I had with the EDL mode, unknown device)..
I hope I can now charge the battery a bit and recovery my data...
Thanks so far guys..

Sorry if I had sounded condescending, but I had no way of knowing your level of expertise.
Best of luck for restoring your phone or for saving the data.

No need to worry.. Of course, you couldn't know and there are a lot of people asking dump questions..
My phone is back a life, I guess the data transfer via USB is not working anymore, charging works although I needed to take my Oneplus One's battery (identical connector, just need to take care of the pin layout [+/-]) because my OP3 battery is pretty low and I don't know if I can reactivate it.. It has about 3,4V at the moment and charges very slow..
Finally, if anyone else faces this issue and can't boot his phone:
Try different button combinations and keep holding the buttons several seconds/minutes..
