Hey,
I was wondering if some one was willing to part with their additional backplate (for $ of course). The tmobile bag with my box and accessories was stolen out of my car and I didn't think I would need another as I'm usually good with phones. Unfortunately, last night it fell out of my purse, hitting the curb at a weird angle, cracking the backplate. If no one is willing to sell one, could you give any links to somewhere to buy a replacement?
Thanks
It's 20 Canadians on bell's website http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpWls_PrdAccList.page?currentPageIndex=0&phoneSku=70269
You can only buy it if you live in Canada, which I don't
You can look around eBay and see if somebody is selling any of them. I think I've seen some carbon fiber ones being sold, not exactly the stock one but it'll be a backcover.
Somebody linked this in another thread: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Genuine-Sam...Fascias_JN&hash=item5194bdfde4#ht_1508wt_1137 It's the I9000 version so I don't know if it'll fit, but most likely it will. Same back cover but has "with Google" on it. Imported from the UK
The i9000 back plate IS identical to the Vibrant's.
I have a few posts in this section on this as soon as someone comes out with some back covers i will be all over them. I want some white ones ones with designs.
I'm really surprised that T-Mobile hasn't launched any additional patterned backs for this phone, considering it's their current Flagship phone.

hello everyone
I have bought a used Xperia Play that has a defective SD card reader and i cant seem to get a hold of the seller. everything is working except for the sd card reader. when i opened it up, I found out that the module is broken. I looked on Ebay and found what I need, only to discover that the seller doesnt ship to Canada. Does anyone know somewhere else I can get this item from?
here is the link: ebay.com/itm/OEM-SONY-ERICSSON-XPERIA-PLAY-MICRO-SD-CARD-PORT-PARTS-FIX-R800-USA-/130590488389?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e67ccb745#ht_895wt_932[/url]
thanks
That link seems to give a "page not found" error
Think he means this link. I just copied the Sony part all the way to the end.

Yes thats the one im talking about. Unfortunately he doesnt ship to canada, and he is the only person i found who sells it. If anyone knows where to get one like this, PLEASE tell me/us where to get it.
thanks in advance
May not be a solution for you, but if you happen to have a friend in the US, you could have him receive it then send it to you.
did you try messaging the seller and asking him if you paid the full price for shipping if he would make an exception?
man i'm wishing i lived in the US right now lol. Is there some kind of OEM parts website that sells it? I dont want to send it back to Sony because I know they'll charge me a mind boggling price. also BTW, when i plug in my headphones no sound comes from them, but the sound keeps coming out of the speakers. does anyone know anything about that?
thanks for the help

I've got the same issue. Some dumba$$ duped me into trading a brand-new mint condition Blackberry 9810 for a VG condition Xperia Play - which at the time seemed like a perfect trade to me because I wanted an Android device... and the gaming aspect was intriguing. Little did I know that the SD card was fubar, and this guy didn't bother to tell me. So of course, I test everything except the card slot, and when I try to contact him again after the deal was made - he's vanished. His last reply to me? "Move on, sorry"...
I need to find a way to fix this, or find someone who can fix this (I'm not overly good with my hands, especially not on smaller parts).
Any help anyone can give me, or if the OP found a solution, and could post it here, that would be great.
I'm in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area (which I believe the OP was as well - what does that say about the quality of the people trading phones around here?)
Thanks in advance.

Hi
The weird thing is that almost exactly the same thing happened to me, except that I paid cash. Anyways, after about two months of searching on the net, I managed to fix the phone up. I kept looking online for just the SD Card Reader itself, but couldnt find anything at all. So, I had to go hunting for a damaged xperia so I can use parts out of it. After a lot of searching on kijiji, ebay, etc, I found one with a broken screen on kijiji in Niagara Falls, so I contacted the seller and had him ship it to me (I got lucky on that lol), and paid him via paypal. Then, I swapped the motherboards between my phone and the broken one because the sd card reader is sort of soldered onto the motherboard, and I have very twitchy hands, so I decided not to mess with anything and just swap the whole thing. After that, I sold the broken one (which has my old broken motherboard in it) on Ebay for parts. Anyways, the point is to buy another xperia with a broken screen or something and swap motherboards, and for that you need alot of patience because you can barely find any parts for the xperia play on the net. Or, just deal with what happened and sell your phone on ebay as is for parts. Good luck
Lol I actually live in Ottawa but I bought the device while I was visiting some relatives in Toronto, says a lot about the quality of people selling phones in toronto.
one last thing, if you're going to buy a broken phone for parts, make sure its GSM , not CDMA.
I wanted to know if its easy to repair the sd card module on the xperia play the one i have is a at&t model 4g yeah the sd slot doesnt detect my micro sd i have a bunch of working micro sd cards thats why i was asking does it clip off or does it require soldering
I sold my htc amaze a few months ago to buy the n9 and im getting tired of not having any app selections (it was cool at first), and the one x looks pretty sick. found someone on craigslist that is willing to trade but he dropped the phone and the screen doesn't turn on. he has a new digitizer for it but not an LCD. They aren't too expensive on ebay (found one for like $40). he said the phone turns on and everything works (capacitive buttons, sound, etc). The thing im worried about is if it has water damage, is there any way to find out? and if not do you guys think its worth it?
thanks
edit: nevermind did more searching on the water damage indicator and found it. still would like to know your opinions/advice though
A screen repair requires the digitiser and LCD. Just do a search for broken screen threads here.

thanks for your reply. yeah ive watched a few videos on it but since they are selling the LCDs on ebay separated from the digitizer I figured you could replace it itself..
edit: im reading on other threads that they are two separate units? some people are saying they are on unit and others are saying the opposite. starting to wonder if its worth it..

Official ones come as one unit and cost more. It'll cost about 150 UK pounds for official repair. Factor that into your cost, and the fact that it's second hand, and the fact you can't test it properly... Is it worth it? I doubt it, but a working One X is an incredible device.

this is what im looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LCD-DIS...930?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c7451912 you don't think this would be real? it also has 30 days money back so if it isn't the real deal..
Don't do it, go for a proper second hand device a fully working one, better to have the original screen as it's a lovely screen.

thank you, ill take your advice. it seems not many people are interested in the n9 as much as I thought they would.
It always feels good to have a new device which is fresh and you are much sure that it doesn't have a defect or something, if you're are looking for some advice, well for me, i will personally tell you that go and just buy a new one ( Fresh like Dougie )

my Nokia n9 is smoother than my Amaze I had before it. I just cant do without the apps D:
Anyone know of a place to get the digitizer/inner screen for a reasonable price? I have a perfectly functional E4GT that was dropped on the day it was purchased (literally on the way out of the Sprint store) and the inner screen was cracked.
Perfectly functional otherwise, it still boots up and everything, just that the screen is black.
Attached are some pictures so you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for any help

Haven't had to do that *yet* (knock on wood). I wouldn't know where to look. But if you need help after you get it up and running hit me up, this device can be a little confusing at first.... I had to help BigSplit get everything set up.
Will do :good:
We have 3 E4GT in our family and I have replaced 3 screens w/ digitizer so far. It is easy to do, but finding them at a decent price is the hard part. You use to be able to find them for around $50. I just dont see spending $85-$135 when I can do an insurance claim for $100. The next one I do I'm thinking of trying to just replace the glass since the digitizer is fine. Good Luck!

Hi all,
I have a Note 10.1 2014 that I bricked for good-really!-and I want to try putting a replacement mother board in. At least I assume it's the MB. Anyone know where parts might be available in the U.S.? (I can't deal with China shipping time, forget overseas at all)
Other alternative is if someone here has a damaged unit with a known good board that I could cannibalize. I'm very experienced with working on small parts, used to work in defense electronics so doing the physical replacement will go easy for me, and thanks to everyone here, I can flash the ROM, etc.
Very much appreciated if anyone can help-thanks in advance!

There is a service Jtag brick repair that fixes them for about $50 here is the link to web page http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-2013-jtag-brick-repair/
This link is for the GT-N8013 but they fix many models. They do international shipping and there phone number is at the top of the web page.
A video of what they do.
