Android 7 nougat.
No USB debugging enabled.
Phone is locked, no root. Darn bootloader.
Tried pattern more than 100 times, now wait 24 hrs between guesses.
No SD card obviously.
Tried 3rd party tools (Dr fone) and others. All need usb debugging, none work or support the 920A model.
Samsung account not setup before locked out.
Google accounts are setup but cannot reset password-pattern anymore. Tried Android device manager.
Can't factory reset because can't loose the data.
Been locked out for more than 1 year now. Need to get in to get data.
Just want to get the data off the phone only as I don't care about the phone itself anymore.
Also, can I buy an OTG cable and then connect an SD card to use the aroma .zip method?
Going to try to get a pre paid at&t sim card with data so I can get data on this phone. I have a note 8 now on T-MOBILE.
Looking for some way to get into this device.
Please help

Hello.
My HTC Touch Pro 2 encountered the following problem:
Additional to the PIN (for SIM-Card) I have also set a 4 digit PIN to lock the device, which is activated automatically after 5 minutes.
After accidentally deep discharge of the battery (forgot my phone in the drawer of my desk for over a week) and loading the battery afterwards, the phone refuses to unlock the device. The inputting device lock code, which is 100% correct, does not work anymore- no matter whether I type it on the touch screen or keyboard.
Even after several soft reset - not change. The PIN (for SIM-Card) works but the device-Lock PIN does not. No possibility to unlocked the device – it tells me always “entered code is wrong”. Even after connecting to a PC, the computer does not recognize the phone - so I cannot even read out the data of the phone via a computer.
On the phone are important data, photos, entries that I will not delete!
HTC has got - as usual – no idea of their own devices and the German support on the phone told me that I should buy myself a new cell phone - very helpful!
A hardware reset / reset of the device, I do not want to do otherwise the data all are gone.
Is there a way to circumvent/ bypass the device lock and hack the data in some way out my phone?
The emergency plan, which I do not want to try by now, would be a hardware reset and subsequent data recovery using the software "File Scavenger ®" This works very, very good with defective USB sticks and accidentally deleted computer hard disc drives (deleted system volume information etc.) . Unfortunately I have no idea what kind of memory, the HTC Touch Pro 2 uses (it's been no SD card inserted in the device).
And I do not know how the phone reset works - simple device reset witch clears memory only (which would not be that serious) or if the entire memory will be overwritten (which would be fatal).
Maybe someone has a solution and can help me, how to get my data out of my cell phone. Thank you!
If you have the data on the SD card, why worry? Photos, music, etc should all be on the SD card, not the phone itself.
Either way, I doubt you'll be able to recovery anything. Good luck.
If your data is on the sd card/sim card then I would pop it out and do a hard reset on the phone. Put it back in and hope for the best after the reset.
If your data is on the phone you are screwed. When you do a hard reset it will do lots of writing to the nand memory, and overwrite anything you might try to scan for data recovery.
I have never heard of anyone finding a way to get into the data on these phones when the pin didn't work. It is also the reason I never used that feature.

OP mentioned that he does not have a SD card inserted into the device. I think that is why he is so concerned!
Any updates there OP?
I've read through quite a few threads (but forgive me I didn't go through all 976), and searched for some answers on google, so I've done my research as best I could. Please understand that if this question's already been asked and answered, I just didn't know the proper keywords to find it.
so here's my issue. Got a note 2 dec. 12 loved it and eventually wanted to root it, but by the time that happened, my USB port started malfunctioning. to make a long story short, the port charges if i mess with the microUSB side a lot, and even then one small nudge and it loses connection. PC USB connection is completely out of the question. I've tested it on 4 computers with 15 different USB ports (both on machines that had USB drivers/other Samsung software installed, and machines that were Samsung-free) and the best I can get is an alternating on-off connection; you'll see the lightning bolt flash across the battery, then not, then on... etc etc.
Basically here's what I want to do:
I want to use ABD backup to completely image my phone: I have the new one, so I would like to simply copy it over to the new one and avoid setting all the countless system/UI settings.
If this is not possible, I want to use Rerware's MyBackup to backup whatever I can.... problem is, I've tried this and getting the backup files off the device is tricky. direct USB connection is not possible. I tried via Wifi file transfer and somehow the ZIP file (1.85GB) got corrupted, and when I used zip repair tool from recovery toolbox (nifty utility) it found nothing in the zip file after an hour-plus scan. When I tried copying it to the external card using samsung's stock explorer app, it only copied over 255MB and nothing else.
If all this is not possible, I would like to know what options or solutions someone could (please) offer as to how to get some data (at least pictures) off my device. When I get it back from amazon wireless, I'm going to try to sync them all retroactively to dropbox or picasa or something, but I want to know if there's something else I haven't (more than likely) thought of.
Also, I would also like to know if there's an option for root without USB. the problem is that in order to do ADB backup (my #1 hope) I need to be rooted. I saw a CFAuto root that says it works through ODIN download mode, but then I found another thread that said you have to have your phone hooked up via USB in order for that to work.
I've seen there're ADB via wifi apps on the market (if there's a root without USB possibility) and was wondering if these could be used somehow?
Lastly, this phone is getting returned to amazon wireless, so really, I want no evidence of any tinkering that voids warranties. If this is not possible, I just want my damn data.
To recap, since that seemed like a rant:
is there a way to image my entire phone to transfer to my new one? if not....
is there a way to backup most (if not all) settings etc to restore to new phone?
any other creative ideas on how to get data off the old device?
sorry if this seems frivolous, I'm just sick of this crap. I got a pretty advanced smartphone and in less than a month it somehow corrupted 80+ pictures, lost USB data connectivity, and now certain STOCK apps are malfunctioning. any help or advice would be appreciated.
I will continue researching.
At some point, I did something that enabled me to plug my Note 2 into my computer and then pull up
the Play store online and then install apps over USB. Somehow, today, that option is gone.
In windows explorer, no longer is the phone even showing up.
This is in addition to the multiple problems I've had getting my external SD card to stay mounted.
I took it out of the phone earlier today, formated it to fat32, then it worked, until I rebooted the phone.
I've got so many problems going on with this phone. I would pay someone to help me get it fixed and stay fixed.
Laugh all you want at me, I don't mind. I'll admit I'm in over my head.
I had no idea I would need a PhD in computer engineering to work this phone.
Let me put it this way: I no longer even have the wherewithall to write out what I've done and all the steps and procedures
I've gone through.

Not sure about the SD card, but your USB connection might be because you uninstalled Samsung USB drivers? As for play store, you don't need usb connection to get an app to install from pc play store. Just select your phone when installing and the app will automatically install on your phone as long as you have internet connection
First off, thank you for reading this.
A couple of weeks ago I went to use my phone. I typed my security code into unlock the screen and the phone froze. After a few minutes, the phone rebooted, and took a long time to boot, and came back to the "Welcome to Verizon" prompts you get when first turning on a brand new phone; it appears the phone went thru a factory reset! After getting thru the prompts, I found that ALL data on the phone and the external SD card was erased.
I tried to recover the files from the SD card by connecting the card to my Windows machine and running and my trusty recovery tools (which have always worked in the past on formatted drives). All the tools I normally use failed to find any files. So, I bought Wondershare Dr. Fone - and it actually worked on the SD card. It's not the greatest tool, but it was at least able to recover my media files. When Dr Fone attempted to scan the phone's memory it failed because it was not able to root the phone. After some reading, I see that it is not possible to root a Note 4 (Verizon). However, it appears there might be a temp root possible. Can anyone give me some general direction on how I can recover data from the phone's memory (I have more media that plus some other app-related files)? Will a temp-root allow Dr Fone to scan?
Thanks in advance.
Model : SM-N910V (Note 4, Verizon)
Android Version : 5.1.1
Android Security Patch Level : 2015-12-01
From my experience, you could get help from professional app
Since your phone is wiped, you could apply to Samsung Data Recovery app. It works better if your phone is rooted. good luck.

If you can't access it using a PC you're boned.
You have the ability to use an SD card as a data drive, why didn't you?
All your critical data should be stored there for reloads and... this.
I did someone hacked my Gmail and reset my phone boom therewent everything

So the hardware's still good?
Check alternative 2nd email account if you have one to determine if it was unauthorized access took place.
Factory reload and change Google password after reload.
*You may have to reset Google account password if it was indeed hacked before you can regain device access. Try the original password first.
You get 3 tries before you get locked out for 72 hours.
If you got hacked, one or more of your devices was/is compromised. Always use a strong password and change it every few months.
Never use a "master" password for the Google account, it needs to be unique.
ALWAYS backup critical data on the PC and at least 2 more hdds that are physically and electronically isolated from the PC. If the your PC got hacked don't connect the backup hdds until it's clean.
I keep the laptop I use for backup offline and with no Google account on it for this very reason...
