Hello, i m newest. i m from belgium and i bought an android Erisin ES4717B with android 7.1 for my Mini Cooper.
I have one question,
Before cutting the car I always turn off the radio with the power button. We can see on the screen the sentence "stop in progress".
But the next day or two hours after when I take the car, I put the ignition, and I press the button to turn on my car radio, the screen turns on in 2 seconds time, super-fast what! It should not have a "boot" of 20 / 30sec with the brand logo of the car at each reboot of the car stereo normally?
It bothers me, because it looks like the car radio is on standby and not on off mod.
So i think the car stereo is alight all the time in "standby" and i m afraid that the battery will discharge with the time....
What do you think? The connections are plug and play, everything is in the right place.
Are there settings to reboot at each stop ...?
Thank you for your help
It's in deep sleep. It'll be using a very small amount of current.
Best way of finding out is to put an ammeter in-line and find out.
Thank you for your reply.
Where can i put this ammeter ?
I m in other forum, forum mini cooper and there is a men who have the same gps with android and he told me that his android gps have a 20/30second of boot before the screen alight... so mine it’s not normal... do you know if there is setting in android to put off the radio and not just standby ?
Between the loom of the car and loom the radio is the most obvious place.
If you notice a battery drain, you should shut it down sooner. Otherwise I would let it be. I wish I could have a startup in 3 seconds

Hi Guys,
Right, i'm looking for some way to stop my XDA2s "waking up" on connection/disconnection of Bluetooth.
Whenever i get in my car, my BA auto connects to my Nokia CK-7W Bluetooth car kit, as it should. But it also unlocks/turns on, allowing the screen/buttons to be pressed.
This wouldn't be so much of an issue if i had a car cradle (still shoppin about) but at present i'm using a leather case and its going mental in my pocket everytime i turn on/off my ignition.
I'm having to re-lock my phone everytime i get in or out my car...
This may well be 'normal' behaviour, but is there anyway to stop this 'wake on BT' ?? Even if only for the Nokia BT Profile in BT Manager...
Running standard spec (out of the box) unlocked XDA2s on O2 PAYG sim.
no updates as of yet. (if u feel this would help, please specify which)
Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.
Dickie.
Dickie, don't have your answer but I'm intrigued to find out if you get truly awful sound quality with your Nokia kit? i.e. the caller gets a truly horrendous echo?
They sure do JH,
Something i looked around for recently - only had the kit fitted last week.
I rang my office during its installation and my mate said it sounded fine, i've also had a friend say it didn't sound too bad when the engine wasn't started, but i've had definate problems during transit.
I've got an engineer looking at it tomorrow, will let you know if this can be resolved any other way than replacing (although he'll be swapping it for another brand if he can't sort it).
I believe an Ericsson model works fine??
Just a quick note, if others are experiencing sound quality issues, before blaming your kit/phone try cleaning the contact points on your sim/phone as my engineer stated 90% of echo issues he resolves this way....
not for me though, brand spanking new phone and even newer sim...
if only all fixes were that simple!
Wake up on BT connect/disconnect
I have the same isue with the phone waking up on connect/disconnect, but as I have my phone requiring it's PIN before anything can be done, then the phone goes back to sleep after 2 minutes.
I don't really find it an issue.
Hi all. My first post...
So, here the point. I have an Universal, i think one of the first in commerce at least in Italy (well, i've buyed it.. oh.. 2 years ago, more or less).
Now, it had some problems: slow in some moments, bad call sygnal and sound quality. Nothing that a good Windows mobile 6.0 ROM cannot resolve!.
But in last 6 months, something going wrong: the phone is unstable, when i wire it at the charge, sometimes it don't start quickly to charge.. the red light don't appear and the battery don't be recharged.
Also, even with full charged battery, when i launch TomTom, after few seconds it reset, as all battery energy was quickly drained.
The combination of both events is funny: when i'm in car, and i want to use the tomtom, i have to collegate the Universal to car charger, but the universal have to auto-reset itself before starting to use energy from car.
Well, in my opinion this is a battery issue, and in yours? It can be also an hardware problem?
And, if it is a battery problem, i think it can be resolved substituting the actual battery. Can you suggest me an idea for an efficient but economical new one?
Thanks all.
wow...
too muck answers....
someone that can syntetize?
Hi,
If you search around, you'll find plenty of threads dealing with the problem. God helps those, who help themselves...

hi,
yes search
but buy a new battery first
greetings,
wout
On October 31, i got into a major car wreck, crashing my 300C on 22" wheels.
I had the excalibur in a car charging cradle, and it had smashed against the window. Surprisingly, the phone worked, however it will NOT CHARGE.
For some reason, with no charger connected, the light showing charge, and the phone thinks it is charging. But when i attach the charger, the phone goes to a red and then dies.
I have another S621 for which i plugged the battery and it works perfectly fine. but just wont charge.
2 days after i bought an HTC Tytn 2, but i always wanted to revive my excalibur. Anybody know why this might happen?
maybe a good car insurance claim???
LMFAO...that was a good reply
Thanks for the help guys,
I didnt find it funny when i fractured my ribs, wrote off my entire car after, not to mention driving a piece of crap 07 G35 sedan now.

wow the phone works after a car crash. my phone is a tank.
i would buy a charging unit and a battery to charge seperate while u use ur phone and switch it when ur battery in ur phone is low. its gonna be a pain but that would work.

Actually the next day, i bought a TYTN 2, and because i use my phone for corporate email... Then 3 days later boughta new G35
Hows that for showing off..
i just miss how easy to use the excalibur was and wondering if it was something easy to fix.
sounds like a short send it in and have the usb socket replaced or if your skills are good replace it yourself.
I picked up a Single DIN GA1312 by Eonon.
The problem is that when the car shuts off, the screen closes automatically, everything "shuts off" but the dash lights stay on. Sometimes they strobe off.
As well, sometimes while driving the unit will seem like it "browns out" meaning that everything will stop, and it will lightly blink fast showing "off" in the status window very din. Nothing "wakes" it up on the front of the unit. No button responses. If I shut the car off, it will still dimly flicker, then turning the car back on it will come back to life.
I attached a voltage meter to the 12V+ and 12VConstant and I don't notice a drop when the problem happens.
I want to say that it's a bad unit, but I've read about the cables being wrong on some of these decks. Any ideas?
Note: There is talk of an MCU addressing the buttons after shutdown by a Dark Leo, I can't find it though (even though I doubt it will fix it), and the user account only has 2 posts.
My unit had the 12v constant and 12v ignitian swapped so I had to swap those for mine to work properly. But, I don't think that is your problem, the brownout sound like a poor solder joint on the constant 12v to the board. You could probably redo the joint if you have that skill and equipment; if not I would just send it in for replacement.
The good news here is that this problem was related to my ignition switch and not the deck. After tuning the voltage meter correctly, I saw the changes in power I needed to.
I recently bought one from this units and i am very happy with it (minor some cold weldings in the main board that i fixed them)
Immediately i saw that the unit in idle without running anything with Hardware Info had 50-55 celcius in a cold winder night here in Greece (5 degrees) so i opened it and from some other users that i saw here i installed a 6cm fan with a heatsink that i bought from Amazon.
The specific fan is this one and with this adhensive i set it to place.
After the installation with all my programs on (DVR, maps, radio, torque for example) the system never passes the 35 degrees which is great because my main worry is the heat here in Greece in the summer.
This fan if you go near the Head Unit has some noise if you mute the radio and you have complete silence in the car but this is not a problem for me since im not in complete silence never . If you troubled you can put a smaller fan for sure.
Also i noticed when i oppened it that the board with the PX5 that was soldered in the main board had Cold Weldings so i passed them to be sure that will not cause any trouble in time.
Finally the 2 cables that fan was needed for power the positive i had solder it to the 5th pin if you see the photo of the main output plug of the Pumpkin. This pin is the Amplifier signal. The ground i soldered it to the Sasi of the Antenna. Now when you start the unit the fan does not start till a full boot is implemented where it sends the signal to the amplifier and then the Fan starts. It doesnt matter if you have amplifier or not in your installation, the unit when is fully booted sends power to that pin.
Also there is no electrical noise because of the fan.
If you have any questions i will be glad to answer them.
Chris
great explanation
thanks !
which software did you use to monitor board temperature ?
