bootloader works fine, so I flashed a different TWRP img from 3.0.2-0 to 3.0.2-2 and after flashing when I go to boot the splash screen and it still says 3.0.2-0 and stays stuck there.
fixed by installing version 2.8.7.0 version of twrp: kfhd8-twrp-2.8.7.0-recovery.img 7.98 MB

Currently i'm on TWRP 2.8.6 / Whenever I flash TWRP 2.8.7 or higher version, recovery is not accessible. normal boot is ok. but can't boot in to recovey. it says "Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify" . But i can boot in to system.
I reflashed TWRP 2.8.6 and recovery is accessible again. I tried flashify/ TWRP manager and Terminal method. all are result in "Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify" error.
Does any one know how to fix this? Thank you!!!

yes. same result. actually I was trying to flash TWRP 3.0
Then Boot secure error message appeared when trying to go to recovery. then tried 2.8.7 . yet no luck. finally flashed 2.8.6 which phone had before trying TWRP 3.0
then everything is OK. I followed instructions to update to TWRP 3.0 yet this error occurs
Are you downloading the *.img files directly from TeamWin, then checking the md5?

My I747 has been running ok with twrp 2.8.7. and cm 12(latest). After I used twrp manager to install twrp 3.0.1, twrp will boot loop whenever recovery is booted. if I reboot at this point (no buttons except pwr) the system goes to recovery again. I am then able to boot back to download mode via buttons and then continue to rom. I have also tried 3.0,2 and 2.8.7, all the same. I have installed the same set of twrps with flashify, same problem. I then restored a philz bckup from flashify which boots ok. I then installed cwm recovery (newest version) from flashify which boots ok. Basic issue is no recent twrp version will install without going into loop. Any help/thoughts appreciated!!!
i believe an older bootloader can cause this issue. which bootloader/modem are you on ?
"err on the side of kindness"
Hello,
I have a nexus 7 2013 and have just flashed twrp 3.0.2-0 recovery and have a problem.
I used adb to go to bootloader, and then unlocked it
flashed recovery image then used fastboot reboot.
tablet starts, shows teamwin startup page, goes to screen "Running openrecovery script"
then after a few seconds reboots and then the whole process repeats.
any ideas?
ok, so here is how i fixed it.
extracted recovery.img from the stock image (MOB30X) and reflashed it to the device, restarted and set up as new.
reflashed TWRP and it restarted ok.
have since flashed Nougat rom and gapps (so far so good).
I've been using the Fire HD 8.9 (Jem) with CM (a 2015 version of CM 12.1) with TWRP 2.7.0 without much of a problem. Yesterday, I flashed the latest CM12.1 nightly (20161216 version) using the same TWRP successfully. After the initial loading, I tried to factory reset the tablet. Once the pad restarted, it goes into the TWRP startup screen, and doesn't load the touch interface. The startup screen will flash every 5 seconds or so. I can't go back to normal boot either. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Have you fixed this yet?
If not, I'm not certain, but could be a mismatch between your older TWRP version and the most recent CM12.1 nightly. Can you actually use TWRP? Did you make a backup prior to installing the newest CM version (always imperative to do)? If so and TWRP works, simply wipe everything and reinstall your backup. Then first update TWRP (I'm using v 3.0.0) by multiple methods and try again. Does you computer still see your Kindle? If so, download a newer version of TWRP to your computer, transfer it to the Downloads folder of your "SD Card" on internal storage, and flash from there using TWRP. Try to keep plugged in so that battery stays in good shape.
If you can't use TWRP, you'll have use Fastboot to flash a newer TWRP version from your computer. Look for instructions on how to setup and then use Fastboot if you've never used this before. Some drivers that your computer may or may not have will be required. Good luck!

I had the exact same problem but I got into fastboot mode by using this adb command
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
have you tried this yet?
I have cyanogen mode 13 installed and TWRP 2.8.7.0 and decided to update TWRP thru offical TWRP app and when updating I had the (Allow flashing to boot partition box ticked)
I have tried to update TWRP with box unticked but not working.
When rebooting to recovery it gets to HTC logo saying ENTERING RECOVERY and goes into loop continious.
When I hold volume up and power it will boot to os and normal operation.
Any clues on how to fix boot partition and reinstall TWRP?
kind regards
Solved
I installed an older version 3.0.1.0 TWRP and its fixed
