Treble trouble with audio. - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Hi everyone. As I am sure most of you know by know our phone now unofficially supports Project Treble and with that, the ability to flash GSI's of some of our favorite custom ROMs. Unfortunately an issue seems to persist in our device specifically (the Zuk Z2). I had reached out to phhusson regarding no audio out from the headphone jack using any Treble GSI. He had asked of me to copy an apk he provided to to the /system/overylay and reboot to no avail. He additionally asked to post a getprop. After more reports of this behavior surfaced, phhusson deemed that this was for the Zuk Devs to solve. So I now reach out to any devs reading this. If you think you can solve this issue, I and hopefully many others would be willing to try any potential fixes you may have

I know you understand how important is to upload a source code of your rom. Because all your work based on a source code from other contributors of MTK community that they provided for everyone. Your rom can even has my code (just because one of the people you mentioned used it). So I think it is important to share the code with the community. It will helps to fix bugs and create new roms in the future. And it will be fair for all people have been making roms before you. Also some people (like me) want to make enchancements to original code from Android vendors but it will be impossible without source. I hope you understand my position and will make needed acions once you will be ready to show it for the public.

there are some personal reasons for not opening device tree and vendors please understand also treble support is there so
any GSI image will bootup without issue so ahead from this I don't think no more roms needed also kernel sources are already there.

My message was for Dinolek
And Treble support is good but not enough if you want to build a rom for yourself because Dinolek made changes for core system libraries/frameworks. And kernel is not a problem at all. The problem was to make everything working on system-level and Dinolek did it. That's awesome.

i replied on his behalf only he have exams i was also there when he was bringing up this project now i openly say why sources are hidden you know lunik he charges money for developing roms also he didn't provided credits to patches owner dinolek did it for us i know other developers also want this but if all sources goes out i am damn sure lunik will copy his work and earn money from it so sources are not open tho kernel sources with modifications are out you can bringup with that kernel

Source will be uploaded when rom get to beta stage.
I'm not using clear aosp sources, I based on Mediatek alps 8.1 source code, that's why it's hard to share it in proper way.
Nothing is based on work from other contributors, except maintained ones.

Thanks for feedback.
About 2 and 3, install latest 6.2.0.0G from flyme site, not twrp one.
For 4 flash the fix from rom download link fix_alsps_mblu2_oreo.zip, it will be included in next update.
About 5, we don't have gyroscope, on other firmwares it is emulated from magnetometer.
What do you mean in 9?
To disable hardware keys and enable software flash zip from faq.

Treble ROMS and Customs Stable ROM

Hello everyone, I would like to know if there is a ROM, no bugs in Moto G5, no camera errors, errors of synchronizing contacts, 4G.
I wanted a stable rom as the stock.
The Moto G5 is not compatible with the treble project , how to install treble roms? (There is always a method so I was wondering if there are methods to install treble roms on a mobile phone that does not support, and I know you guys from the XDA forum do not play in service so there is a method to install treble rom on the Moto G5)
*I'm sorry for bad English, I'm new to the xda forum, I'll be grateful for a helpful answer.
Technically the G5 does support treble but it's still quite buggy, I wouldn't recommend using it atm.
There are no fully stable ROMs yet (and I highly doubt they will ever exist because we don't have too many developers). The USB tethering and camcorder issues will likely still exist. Use stock or get a better device.
I am on AOSiP treble and it works fine. Moto actions don't work, but camera and contacts (after manually installing latest play services apk) work. So it really depends on what you need... I am talking of Oreo obviously.

It needs device specific modifications I guess. We need devs to look on this rom.

I have already looked on this, not only this but various other similar ports, including pie ones.
The major issue is camera, which seems near impossible to fix, so it won't make sense as we already have proper Oreo and nougat ports of this rom
and pie ports(both miui and oos/h2os) won't boot on our device without proper pie vendors, which our device don't have, the treble flag is disabled on treble pie roms, enabling it causes various crashes and makes rom boots but its unusable, waiting for senior devs to fix it or any workaround.

Thanks for seeing this post and replying. I think we can count on OOS Pie coming for the OP3 soon, it has the same chipset so it should be much easier to port

[HOTWORD] About hotword detection / Google assistant not working on Android 11 ROMs. Changing Gapps WON'T fix it.

Hi guys.
I wanted to say something here. In this forum and elsewhere in the internet people are complaining about "Ok Google" being unavailable/greyed out.
People often recommend others to "flash NikGapps/MindTheGapps/FlameGapps" whatever else, which doesn't solve the issue and makes people waste their times.
I am not a dev, so I might be a bit mistaken, but I talked to some devs from StyxOS/LineageOS devs and they all told me it is because of something called "hotword blobs" that is needed by Android 11. Without those it doesn't work, regardless of which gapps you're using.
AFAIK, the it only works in LineageOS 18.1 for the Redmi 7 device. I tried it and it works with any Gapps (mindthegapps, NikGapps, FlameGapps and OpenGapps). Beware that the OpenGapps version is broken and a lot of stuff goes wrong with it, you shouldn't use it.
ROMs I tested where it doesn't work (only official ROMs)
- Nusantara 3.0 (Android 11)
- StyxOS
- PixysOS
- HavocOS 4.5/4.6
and a few other unnofficial ROMs
This doesn't mean there's a problem with the ROM. Except for HavocOS, which I just installed to check whether this was working, I used all the other ROM's for a few days or weeks and they're all stable.
ROM I tested where it works:
So far:
- LineageOS 18.1
- Any Android 10/MIUI ROM
If you choose LOS 18.1 be aware that SafetyNet is currently broken and MagiskHide Props won't fix it, and that flashing custom kernels will trigger all sorts of weird bugs (phone doesn't reboot/shutdown, simcard data switches itself, distorted audio, you name it).
Flashing Xiaomi.eu 12.5 causes bootloop, you need to flash disabled vbmeta for it to work. If I'm not mistaken OK Google is working in it too.
Thanks.
Thanks for your post, I have the same issue and didn't understand what was wrong.
At least now I know it isn't about Gapps.
It would be great if somebody knows how to add these blobs to ROMs not having them already.

Question GSI on G30

hello, a few months ago I put a GSI on my moto G30 (ArrowOS), I actually liked this GSI a lot... but I can't use some phone functions like bluetooth and headphones on the P2 output...
I use headphones a lot and I was using one with a USB Type-C output but this headphones is having some problems and I want to go back to using my JBL bluetooth headphones that I stopped using because it doesn't connect with my cell phone...
But I don't remember how to put a GSI and I don't even know a good one that I can have a good performance on battery and in games...
Can someone help me?
Hi. GSI performance doesnt varry that much if at all so pick any you like best.
Look at phhusson's GSI List to find a GSI that is compatible
(Must be a higher or equal Android version to the one your phone has stock and the GSI shoud be A/B and arm64)
Your problems sound quite generic and are mentioned in the GSI Troubleshooting FAQ
Such as:
Wired headphones not getting detected.Solution 1Enable alternative headphones detection in phh settings and reboot
This one ^ worked for me and should work for you too i believe.
Bluetooth connecting to device and then disconnectingTry disabling A2DP offload in phh settings
I've tried this too but cant remember if it worked, what works for me is going to the Bluetooth settings for the device and disabling HD Audio.
You can find more fixes on the link above.
About installing the GSI first flash the stock ROM and then follow Sammm77's GSI Flashing Guide.
You can try ArrowOS again with the fixes above and see if they work or pick another GSI.
If you need any clarifications i would be more than happy to help!
