Hello. I brought a new S9 almost a month ago. I have noticed that the paint from the fingerprint sensor and under the earspeaker has came off and shows a white (or grey) colour. It can only be seen in bright areas and a certain angle, is there anyway I can fix this without having any more issues? It shouldn't be happening as I have a screen protector and case. Thanks

Just curious how many of you received your Note 3's (or older phones) and noticed any OLED display defects? Specifically, if you see any "stuck" red/green/blue pixels? My last two OLED phones (SGS1, and SGS3) were perfect ('cept for SGS1 burn-in), but I just noticed that my Note3 has tiny red pixel splotches all over.
When I first got my Note3 about a month ago, the first thing I did before I even turned it on the first time was slap on a cheap (Spigen) screen protector. I was wearing a red long-sleeve shirt at the time, so when I powered on the phone I was pissed to see what I thought were pieces of red lint from my shirt under the protector. I didn't care that much because I was planning on replacing the plastic protector with tempered glass anyway, annnndddd, I finally got around to doing that tonight, which is when I discovered that the red lint were actually display defects.
On a 100% white background image I can see one somewhat noticeable 0.5mm red splotch in the lower right corner, and then 8 other much smaller red dots spread out elsewhere. On most other backgrounds, it's barely noticeable, unless you know what to look for or have OCD.
I'm not anal enough to do a warranty return over this (though I know many of you out there are); I was just curious how common this minor problem might be? I know that the original Note had a problem with "crushed blacks", which was thankfully fixed, and that the Note 2 wasn't that bright compared to the Note 3, yada yada. Chasing perfection.
(On a good note, though, I did manage to apply my iloom tempered glass screen protector almost perfectly straight, and without any lint this time, thanks to the steamy shower room. LOVE the glass; never going back to tackier-feeling and greasier-looking plastic protectors, even though they're much cheaper)
Mine suffer from mura effect. It only show in compete dark room though.

Same here, my old SGSII had the same defect (even after several exchanges). I think all Samsung OLED displays have the mura defect except possibly for those few lucky lottery winners. I've learned to live with it, but I cringe every night I use it with the lights off. I hope they fix it at some point, I thought they would've by now.
Hello everyone
I bought an LG G4 last week and it had a clearly visible mesh pattern on the screen. It was most visible on white bright backgrounds. It was uniform over the whole screen. The funny part is you could also see it when the screen was off and there was a bright light shining on it.
I had it traded in at the shop and they agreed that it was a defect so they traded it in for another G4. This one has it too, but it's much less visible.
I have seen that the display models do not have this mesh thing at all even on the brightest setting. Some do some don't.
Does anyone else here see it? I have a serial number that starts with 511 if that matters.
I also have this problem. I have to see some display units because it may be the way that pixels are arranged. It those dispaly units are ok I am going to get a replacement.
So far, for the first 24 hours I really enjoy this phone. I only have one gripe so far. Has anyone noticed the light leak between the glass and the bezel on both sides?
See the attached pictures. If you're using your phone in a low light room with the screen turned up just a little bit and brightness comma there's a major Gap between the glass and the bezel that goes all the way down to the bottom.

Imagine a fiber optic cable. That is the effect you are getting from the glass on the screen. Had the edges of the screen been painted black, you wouldn't see this. It's nothing to be concerned with.

I get that, but I guess I'm comparing this to S7 Edge and my wife's S6 Edge Plus.
*I was just about to write both don't do that but I'm wrong. I just turned up the brightness on both and they both have that issue. It's a small thing, but now I can't "not" see it.
Yes, that is normal. Besides, AMOLED screens are self-lit pixels, ie. there's no backlight to leak out, unlike conventional LCD screens.

Picked up my new Samsung Galaxy note 10+ and loving it. It is the Aura Glow colour and i've noticed that when you look at the very edge of the back case under artificial light, you can see a squiggly or straight white line on the edge of the panel (where it meets the chrome bezel on the sides of the phone.
I did have my network exchange the phone, however the new one has it too, albeit less.
Has anyone else noticed this on their Aura Glow phone? Is it just a 'characteristic' of the phone or likely to be a faulty batch?
I know I sound picky, but its an expensive phone, so should be perfect to a certain degree, unless its just meant to be
Is the screen polarized or is it possibly my screen protector?
I was driving with the top down and polarized sunglasses and noticed I could barely see my screen unless I tilt my head to the right (horizontal mounted)
Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed this.
I wonder if it's the preinstalled protector. Wearing my sunglasses I can barely see the screen. My s10+ right next to the s20 is clearly visible aside from being a bit darker obviously. I don't want to tear off the protector to see if it makes a difference..
I've got a WS glass protector. I can view mine in either horizontal or vertical no problem. It disappears if I point the top of the phone at 2:30 or 7:30 only. So really no problems for mine.
Its your sunglasses not working well with that type of screen, i have Oakley polarised and several different smartphones have the same issue for me.
This problem has been an issue for years, a search online will tell you the filters on the polarized glasses negates the light on the cell phone screen and how to work around it, try turning your phone 90° and see what happens.
