Had my Pixel XL for 14 months. Rooted and unlocked the bootloader as soon as i got it
Want to chuck a new ROM on it and install TWRP.
My issue is that when i enable USB debugging. After 2 or 3 seconds it disables itself. Doesn't matter if it's connected via USB or not. 2 or so seconds after enabling it. It disables itself
I have also included myaelf into the android p beta. That doesn't seem to download via ota to the device. Constantly says downloading.
Anyway. Unless someone can suggest something, i am going to reset my phone tonight. To see if that resolves the USB debugging issue. If not I will fastboot the images from Google to the device incase it's the image.
Very strange.
Thanks

So you can see for 48 hours it's been trying to download android p
Next you can see I enable USB debugging and the prompt which I acceptthen you can see it's enabled
Going out of the developer options and back it, you can see it's disabled.

Zenfone 2 quick resources
Started collecting resources here

Their are more than a few ways to root ZF2.. I chose this method after a few failed attempts with some others..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/root-newbie-root-instructions-zenfone-2-t3114063
It is important to know that in order to use root properly, as I found out the hard way, an unlocked bootloader is a must before trying to add a recovery or rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/congrats-to-bootlocker-unlocked-t3138547
The reason I say this is because I took the first update and then rooted.. This was bad.. Almost every attempt to unlock bootloader afterward failed.. Couldn't update. Couldn't factory rest. So what was I to do? Luckily this wasn't my first rodeo.. After hours of xda searching and kicking my own ass, I started to remember," hey I have a brain let,s look up Asus support for phones".. Sure enough in black and white I was saved.. Now mind you guys.. You will have to use adb or fastboot tools as almost all of these instructions require sideloading or fastbooting.. So as GP I downloaded all above updates and went through them all erasing one after the other once updated to conserve the 16gig version I'm using. So grab updates add to root of internal storage using PC and USB cable, pull from USB after downloading and Boom..Phone will auto recognize update hit install and your good..
This thread was created for anyone with a similar problems or soft bricked their ZF2..

It works fine for me on Q beta 3 on my Pixelbook. I believe I was already on Q when I enabled it so it shouldn't be a thing where you needed to already have it turned on. What channel are you on for ChromeOS? I am on Beta channel.
It has worked on and off for me thru the betas.
Currently it is working for me now.
Darn not working for me at all. I'm on latest chrome os beta

Edit- Factory Reset and enabled developer all is working now
Is anyone using a Pixel 3aXL with any Samsung watch? Or thinking about it? I just got one. Great phucking phone!
Galaxy Wearable is listed in the playstore as incompatible. I had to side load it. But now it can't get anymore updates.
I guess it is still compatible with the regular Pixel 3XL.

How about other PIxel phones.
Is the Galaxy Wearable still listed as compatible in the play store?
.
Well, us Pixel 3aXL users can install and update Galaxy Wearable from Apotide. MF Samsheet!! Neil Anblomi (get it?)
https://samsung-gear.en.aptoide.com/
Still crashes after reboot and won't connect. You won't see the app is not responding message unless you turn on ANR (apps not responding) button I think. I have that turned on. When it says wait or close, your have to select close. Then you can open Galaxy Wearable and connect easily.
I am quite sure that this is the problem reported in Q. They can't connect and can't see the app not responding message I think.
You may see future posts by others with this issue. :cyclops: I fixt tit

Note the attached screen shot of the Device Manager on a brand new Windows 10 64 Bit machine when a Verizon Note 10+ 5G is connected to the PC's USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C jack with the cable that comes from Samsung with their 45W charger. Everything works perfectly including connectivity with the PC's file manager to access the files on the phone. It's just that I am a somewhat spoiled perfectionist techie and not sure why I am getting this. I've searched and haven't found any "driver's" (even though it appears everything is natively supported).
Any thoughts? My phone is not named "SAMSUNG_Android" - so that is a default designation...

When I connect my device, it appears as "samsung sm-975F"
Mine is SM-976V... And, drum roll.... Does the Device Manager say there are no driver's for it on your PC?

I hadn't put ADB yet on my phone but duh -
