Flash new emojis? - Sony Smartwatch 3

Hey guys,
almost a year ago I bought the SW3 from Sony.
At this time, it was not sure if the watch would get Android Wear 2.0. Since I did not need any additional functions and the design of the clock was more important to me, I chose this watch.
I mean, Android Wear is not the most beautiful OS, but it does it's job.
Now to my question:
I do not care that I have not gotten the update to 2.0, but what bothers me is when I get a message via WhatsApp, which contains emojis, I get only an X in a box.
Is there a way for the Android 6 version of the watch to flash the new emojis? I do not care about my guarantee.
I am happy about every answer!
Kind regards
Borotes

Is this watch able to get the latest wear update?

Title says it all... I know some android wear devices don't get updates as fast or t all, I really just need wifi support...
Yes, it has it, the only wear watch that is limited thus far as I know is the motto 360. But, be careful what you wish for. The new update causes power bugs for many people.

Huawei confirms the original Huawei Watch has NFC and Android Pay is being tested

Huawei confirms the original Huawei Watch has NFC and Android Pay is being tested on it
The rollout of Android Wear 2.0 has brought about a couple of interesting tidbits, including what we find to be a massive new piece of information about the original Huawei Watch: it has NFC.
The original Huawei Watch, which is set to receive it’s Android Wear 2.0 update soon, will be getting an additional piece of functionality in that an update will soon enable a dormant NFC chip in the watch.
In a statement to Ausdroid, Huawei has confirmed that the original Huawei Watch does have NFC, with Android Pay functionality currently in testing by the Android team at Google. The update to enable Android Pay on the original Huawei Watch may not go live straight away with the update to Android Wear 2.0, with a time-frame of Q3 given for the Android Pay functionality to go live.
The statement was given alongside confirmation that the Hauwei Watch 2, which will launch in Australia later this year alongside the Huawei P10 also has NFC built-in with support for Android Pay, but that support is functional out of the box.
The original Huawei Watch is still one of our favourite Android Wear watches available here at Ausdroid, and they’re getting cheaper as the launch of the Huawei Watch 2 approaches. In terms of functionality, it’s a massive step forward for owners of the original Huawei Watch.

Ausdroid is neither an official nor a reliable source. Huawei Watch does not have a NFC compatible hardware... its hardware has already been analyzed long time ago and though MSM8926 processor on some units migh have NFC support it doesn't have other hardware components required to use it.

Calm down.. It was planned for march, but delayed because of an new bug.. they are actually optimizing the new bug-free AW 2.0.. it should be available in few days, an employee from HuaweiGermany told me
still hoping, but reality says no...
Yeah, sure would be nice, however it's highly un probable.
then there is this: http://www.androidcentral.com/huawei-watch-nfc-nope
It could explain why is taking too much time to release the update. I have latest preview version in my watch and is working fine.

Question about software updates

Hi everyone, im a long time Sony user, my actual phone is a Z1. It launched with Android 4.2 and it keep's updating until Android 5.1.1.
My question is, Motorola will keep releases in similar way?
I'm insterested in the Moto Z Play, probably i will buy it in two weeks, is a nice update to my actual phone and i love the idea of the motomods, JBL sound and extra battery are really nice.
Will this phone get one or two Androids release?
Thank you for reading.
It was on 6.0 and now 7.0, I think we can expect much mores updates
II disagree., we got N. I really do not foresee us getting O and if we do it will be so late into it that P would be due soon at that point.
But either way it is a nice phone.
thanks both of you for your answers!

Oreo update starts rolling out today!

Good news guys Looks like Google is giving us treats for the holiday season.

I'm guessing that every watch that is supported by AW2.0 will also be getting Oreo update. Yes, original Huawei watch is already beyond the 2 year support period but i don't think that the same rules goes for watches like it's usually the case with phones. Do you think original HW will be getting Oreo? I mean, we got new security update some days ago so it's still supported
I hope so,waiting for the update in a month.
In comments on articles about this, people have been reporting even the original Moto 360 is already getting this. I'm not sure the relationship between android version and android wear code but maybe it's pretty easy to merge the Oreo updates with the manufacturer's code now that they are on AW 2.0.

The original moto 360 never even made it to android wear 2.0, so I highly doubt it is getting this update.

The fact that we got a security update doesn't mean much. There were some pretty high profile vulnerabilities that needed patching (KRACK, etc.).

That sucks :/ I kinda knew this would happen eventhough i was optimistic and hopeful that Huawei Watch still gets it. So, it's finally the end of software support for our beloved original HW **** you, you ugly ass HW2!
Can someone explain this End Of Life situation though...? The Huawei Watch is STILL on sale via Huawei's direct website! Surely they shouldn't be selling a watch without providing the software support seriously!? I thought the deal was 2 years after the device goes on sale or 18 months after it stops being on sale (whichever is longer).
I think this statement needs to be reiterated to Huawei and Google.
Also I bought the watch thinking the support life would be alot longer than a phone... People don't buy +£200 watches for only 2 years usage.
This "policy" may have just made me decide that I'm not interested in Android Wear anymore... Even my Pixel 2 will have a longer shelf life!
EOL is not here yet, just no Oreo. This is near the bottom of the article.
Some of the watches dropped from support include the ASUS ZenWatch 2 and 3, the original Fossil Q Founder, the LG G Watch R/Urbane/Urbane LTE, the second-gen Moto 360 and 360 Sport, and the original Huawei Watch. Those watches will continue to get Android Wear updates (like the recent v2.6 update) through the Play Store, but the underlying Android version will be stuck on Nougat.

The only one for the HW1 is discontinued. The dev's watch died and Huawei gave him a watch 2. If another dev steps up, yes, but since there was only one and that dev does not plan to continue.
The thing is I only love the look of HV1 watch. Most stylish. There is no other V2 watch out there that comes close.
I have a Huawei Mate 10 running Oreo so it's a shame my watch won't match my phone.
Custom ROMs are our only hope now!

Well actually, just staying on wear 2 isn't a bad option, it still works wonderfully.
I agree. The more that Huawei Watch (1) is still officially on sale and is more expensive in stores than Huawei Watch 2.
I've made a post on their Swedish FB-site, here in Sweden it is still actively sold by two of Huawei's recommended resellers advertised at Huawei's site.
Can we figure out if the 18 months after sale claim is valid for Wear as well as regular Android? And was this formulated before or after the launch of the Watch?
I spoke to Huawei Technical Service. They do not have anywhere indicated that they provide support for 18 months from purchase / production. They claim that it depends on Google - not from them. They do not guarantee anything
It's a pity, because I have their P9 Plus smartphone and Watch 1 smartwatch and I think it makes the highest-class flagship.

What do you think of Android TV-Box Formuler?

Hello everybody,
I wanted to know what you think of the Android TV boxes of the brand Formuler if you have already tried them. (Formuler Z7, Z8 etc...)
Don't you find that they are way too expensive ? Do you think it is possible to do the same with other boxes much cheaper? How do you explain that they are considered by many people to be the best?
It amazes me that so many websites recommend these TV boxes ........
No one ?
Two plus years late but i searched XDA for Formuler since i bought one. I was looking for custom firmware or similar. To be fair, the box is speedy has had several updates and security patches from google and mine is running Android 10 which is not bad.
The interface is Android but not a full distro. More like Android Tv. It comes with Miracast, it's own market store and play store as well. Honestly.... i would recommend it.
