I am on Chobits Digital v2 rom and when i got to setting and software update it tells me there is an update for my mobile so if i update will i go back to stock rom or what will happen??

My advice would be not to update or else your phone may brick....it's an update to stock rom and not the custom rom....

No. That doesn't work for Custom ROMS. It is for Stock ROM. Your phone will may be bricked or bootlooped when you try updating it. In my case, i didn't use that but i tried kies but kies doesn't detect my phone because i'm not using stock ROM.

I was on hawkish rom which was based on android 4.1.2 but few days back i flashed the new leaked mi6 rom on my note 2 but now i want to go back to android 4.1.2 instead of 4.3 as there are no roms available right now which gives pure android experience for MI6 based rom.
Whenever i try to flash any custom rom like slim bean, i couldn't make calls or do any network related task with my phone. A error comes " not registered on network"
At times also, my imei changes with different roms.
right now i have the backup of my efs.
But i dont know what to do with that. The efs file is in .gz.tar format which is about 5kb in size. when I decompress that the file size changes to roughly about 5 mb. . Help me in restoringmy efs files so that i can install some old roms.
ps. the phone is working without any flaw on leaked MI6 rom.

i am relatively new to all this flashing, and i am trying to flash android 4.4 to my note 2,
i have rooted my phone and i'm running CWM 6.0.4.3
so when i try to flash this rom it gives me the error that this was made for the N7100, ( which i have) and that my phone is a: "t0ltetmo"
does anybody know any solution to this?

but what things I should backup before flashing custom ROM.
And also I saw a couple of videos about getting stock firmware back.
but for that, they used something like recovery.img. My guess is that it's just the firmware downloaded.(I'm not sure of it).

Total beginner question... I have searched and searched and cannot find a way to revert my s4 mini back to the stock firmware from a custom rom. Every time I try to install the firmware via odin I just get secure check fail : aboot error.
I had installed a custom rom via TWRP and have tried everything to get the device back to a state to just install a samsung firmware?
Any help would be appreciated.
