physically damaged the ear mesh.. - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

My z2 plus' covering over the front ear speaker got damaged .. i accidently dropped a acitone over it and it started to melt (as it was made of plastic). I am in search of replacement of it.. due to this my proximity sensor is working but its range has become too low.. i was thinking to go to the service centre.. my phone is still in warranty.. i just wanted to know if i have to give them any service charge apart from the charges of the part to be replaced as my phone is still in warranty?? If anyone has visited lenovo service centre before plz tell me how much they take service charges.... Plz help me

Weird Issue with Sound

Hi all,
Been having some problems with my Defy's earpiece.
Abit of background, before it started acting up:-
1. Damaged the screen and LCD in a fall, phone could turn on but nothing visible on screen
2. Sent to repair in a mobile phone repair shop, they replaced the screen and LCD
Phone now works fine, but the earpiece works abit randomly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It seems to work more often when I receive calls, compared to when I make calls.
The only way I can make a call is by checking first whether the earpiece is working, by logging on to Skype and calling the Echo/Test Sound Service thing. If it's working at the time, then I can make the call as usual. If it's not working, I usually end up having to use the speaker, which works fine.
Is this issue likely to be due to manufacturing problems, or could it have been damaged (along with the screen and LCD) when I fell?
I got the phone in December 2010. I would take it into a T-Mobile store to see if the warranty covers it, but I have a feeling they might somehow know that I sent it elsewhere to get the screen and LCD replaced - I'm guessing this would void my warranty.
Any suggestions on what I should do?
Would appreciate any help, thanks
They definitely know you'd sent the phone to another shop for repair. All phones having the warranty sticker sitting in the battery compartment. Now all you can do is pray they just go blindly repair your phone..

Hmm.. thanks, I might just bring it back to the shop that repaired the screen for me.. if it's too expensive then maybe I'll try change the earpiece myself..

No Speaker Sound

I believe the phone repair shop has damaged my phone. It went in for broken glass on the lcd. They broke the frame and replaced that after I refused to accept it, went and got it today, almost 2 months after bring it to them, and the screen looked great! The phone's headset speaker works, but the main speaker for ringing and speaker phone does not.
Anything I can do software to test it?
Anything I can do with this phone to fix it?
Worth anything without an external speaker?

You need to look for a speaker flex cable.
All I see is repair shops ruining peoples One X's, hense I don't want to send mine for repair.
If I could do it all over again I would have sent it to HTC directly. I regret everything.
Any chance it has to do with my custom rom? Worked when I took it into the shop.. Maybe I need to reflash it?
Sorry
I had this problem too, but I did it. Going to open the phone for the well known Wi-Fi issue I've accidentally damaged the speaker going too much deeper with the swiss knife. Ordering a new rear for the phone with of course the speaker included solved my problem. It's around a 25€ damage anyway, not huge amount of money but is definitely something. You should ask for a refund or explane them what possibly happens.

Wifi and bluetooth stopped working after rain..

Hello,
my S4 mini took a lot of rain under an incredible thunderstorm where i live (Italy).
i dryed it with a ventilator but after 3 days the bluetooth and the wifi stopped working..
also since today the radio stopped working..
i opened it and i found the left upper corner with a lot oxide..but i found oxide also in other parts of the mobile (the mobile was used for an year by one of my friends).
I ask you if this damage could be fix..i thought about a spray for oxide (used also with a toothbrush), or trying to change directly the wifi and bluetooth antennas, changing directly the middle frame of the device..
I am not an expert so i ask you help, please
Thanks in advance.

Severe water damage... Rip
Sorry man I don't think it can be fixed
Its already damaged I would disassembly and clean everything with a contact cleaner and try
If u have warranty u can claim it.
If not you may have to pay for repairs.
But i fear that your device is seriously damaged. Do not attempt to repair it urself. If anything goes wrong it will affect other working parts.
thanks to both mates
For exple in my country the problem is that water damage is not covered by warranty, yours could be different

honor 8 pro dead.

I dropped my honor 8 pro in water and it was been dead for some time, around 15 days. then one day I tried switching on and the power came on. I could make calls or receive messages but the camera and the fingerprint sensor were not responding. But when the phone goes into display off mode the display doesn't turn on again, unless I restart the phone. But the phone ringed if any call was made ,since the screen didn't display i couldn't receive the call.
So, gave it to a service center where they kept the phone for a month and then when I called them after a month they said the motherboard is dead and it will cost me 20k for a new one. i smell something fishy here. was my motherboard really dead? if so how come i could switch it on and even make calls? and why did they take 1 month to make the diagnosis? and does the honor 8 pro motherboard cost 20k?
please help.
Chances are high in motherboard damaged when drops in water . They will test in various aspects so it may took time nothing is fishy u purchase a new mobile rather giving 20k
Motherboard has all the parts attached one or the another way, they are may be right. Don't waste 20k on dead phone. Go for new one.

New phone is available in 20k ... Dont waste money
I had something similar happen to my phone it got water damage and went in lock mode 20 days later turned back on everything fine but a few days after wifi and booth stopped working in my case I would have to replace the wifi and Bluetooth module on the motherboard which is extremely hard to find for some reason, however, in your case, I think since u sead the phone still works, it just has calls problems u only have to change the communications board which tends to be a lot cheaper then the motherboard in most smartphones hower again this component is really hard to find and therefore can be quite expensive because there is a very low supply compared to the demand which is not huge. however, one thing that u can try which is not guaranteed to work but has a 50%chance is a chemical bath which the will provide in some phone repair centers

Need help with battery

So recently my device was overheating, to my bad, I was using it near water. So somehow the water got inside.. I could see water moisture on the front cam and rear cam..after a few minutes the device was completely dead ...so I took it to the service center and they quoted me 120BD approx 300$. So for 330$, I could get a new s9 and cause of that I did get it repaired. And they did close the back cover so I could see the swollen battery.
After few weeks tried charging my device and the device booted up. Everything was working fine except for the battery backup. The phone is shutting down at 80%..after resetting it could be used around 50%.
So the faulty part must the battery or is it cause of something else?.
And right now I'm not in the place which I brought so called the local service center..they quoted 3000 INR(40USD) but the thing is that there won't be any warranty for the replaced product.

Buy a battery and install it. It's not hard. Google and youtube
Your device has been wet Inside. The warrant is already gone. and how can you expect some one to warranty a water damaged device lol
