Just bought a brand new S9+ and downloaded Pokemon go from google play store and it crashes immediately saying OS is not supported. Is there a problem with Pokemon go and the newest Android OS release?

on my s9 I just get gps not found (11) constantly
I play normally on my s9 eu model.
I usually get no "gps found" errors when I am indoors (so gps reception no is low) or when I'm not connected to the internet.

I managed to be an idiot and reset my 360 to try and force the new update. Obviously that doesn't work. However, I had Google Play Services 6.1.74 before I reset. I have a presentation at work tomorrow that involves a wear app that I built and due to the mismatched services, my app and the phone aren't talking to each other. Yes I could build with downgraded gps, but I would prefer to just install 6.1.74 on my 360. Do any of you guys know if the watch uses the same apk as phones? If so I'll just install via adb. Otherwise, does anybody have the wear 6.1.74 that I could get?
Maybe this will help, go into the play store on your device, then select settings, scroll down to build version and tap on it. Google play store and services will update if it hasn't already.
Unfortunately you can't open the play store on android wear. That is a great tip though, thanks!
I meant on your phone or device that your watch connects too. For example my moto 360 connects to my galaxy s5 so on my GS5 i open the play store then settings ect.

Hello XDA!
Around 3 weeks ago, I updated my Nexus 5x from 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the latest Android version 7.1.1 Nougat. After one day, it suddenly crashed and my phone was stuck in a bootloop. Google knows about the problem and they said that this is a hardware related issue and that you can get your phone repaired/replaced by LG. I contacted LG, they replaced my whole mainboard and now I have a working Nexus 5x on Android 7.1.1.
Now to my problem:
Before all that I pre registered my phone for the "Super Mario Run" app in the play store and I've realised that I can't find it anymore in there. I tried to find the app on my phone by opening the Play Store link and now all I get is the "Your device isn't compatible with this version" error which hasn't been the case before! I even tried it with my girlfriend's Nexus 5x (also on 7.1.1) and for her everything works just fine!
A bit later that day I realized that this app isn't the only one which isn't compatible anymore. Until now it seems that I have this problem with every single one of Nintendo's apps and until now I don't know if any other apps are effected by this. The Play Store even shows me an ad about Super Mario Run and some other Nintendo app but when I tap on it, all I get is an empty list because none of this apps is compatible with my device.
As I mentioned above my Nexus 5x is currently running on Stock Android 7.1.1 and rooted.
Any kind of help is appreciated!
Similar issue
I have the same problem as you. I had also pre registered then I rooted my Nexus and then it doesn't show in my playstore. Playstore link says 'your device is not compatible..' I guess the problem with Android version. I had also upgraded from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2. So maybe they ain't releasing for nougat or maybe that is a later release.
As you may know there as many reports for the S8/S8+ (me included) of the Google App causing: 1. Playstore apps to install slowly or not at all. 2. Play havoc on the Google Voice widget. 3. Delaying the execution of manual software update check or PRL upgrade. Is anyone having these issues with the S9/S9+? Hopefully it is fixed.
Hi! I just bought my S9+ today and I can’t even install apps like Twitter, Instagram and PUBG Mobile on it because it says that the device isn’t compatible w the item. Anyone help??? This is my first Samsung device and I’m upset to why this is happening!

Usually that error is due to regional restrictions, not the phone itself
You can definitely install all those apps on an S9+
Seems the phone with 10 it's "uncertified device", I checked magisk hide, wiped play store storage, rebooted and... still no Netflix, but most importantly certified device is ****ing gone! No more section under play store settings! Any ideas?
The Netflix issue has existed for months and is unrelated to 10. Do a search, and you will see my name all over the posts. As for the device not certified issue, hide Play Store with Magisk clear cache and data and then uninstall updates so it reverts to factory Play Store which will update and certify..

I did everything again, also uninstalled the updates like u say (I didn't try it before) and nothing changed, the strange thing is this, look the screenshot, the certified section under settings in the store is completely gone!
EDIT: I've installed an old apk and now when I've open the play store link of the app it's says "the application it's not compatible anymore"
I did some testing on this in another thread and it seems the issue is the unlocked bootloader. Has little or nothing to do with the Playstore being certified which mine is.. and still can't install Netflix from the store. I sideloaded on the final version of 10 and Netflix does work.. But it's still a hassle.

DvLAx3l - From what I have seen, when it shows neither certified or not it is actually certified and just waiting for the next play store update to trigger it. Not certified is an issue. It may be that when you installed 10 the play store version was already at that one. Tap on the version number, and that will check to see if what you have is the latest and if not queue it up for change. When it does change, you might have to go through the steps again of hide, clear cache and data and remove updates to get it to trigger. I have been through this a bunch of times including finally getting it to work the other day when the update finally pushed.
jbarcus81 - Unfortunately it is something beyond the BL unlock since that is masked my every custom kernel and it remains an issue. It appears to be related to the device, the OS and the BL state at least. I have wondered out loud if Google tracks the BL status by individual device and records the status based on lock and unlock changes. Bottom line is that certified doesn't mean jack anymore. It is basically low hanging fruit while things like GPay and Netflix are looking well past that.
Just wait a few days and play store will update the app.
Like u guys said, everything is work now! Thanks ?

Hey Folks,
Have a MatePad Pro 10.8 that had GMS and app installed and running via Googleifier and over the past few days the Google Core apps have all stopped running for me.
I have the device ID registered on the uncertified devices page and still no joy.
Nothing has changed with my setup, so I'm assuming that Google are enforcing their license and the US sanctions?
Is there any current way to avoid these restrictions?
Google Apps is working just fine for me on Matepad Pro.

It was working fine for me too from November and my Googleifier effort up until the 31/5.
Play store had stopped working earlier in May, but since Sunday, Chrome is closing on launch with an uncertified message too.
I'll take some time later this week to roll back the apps to earlier versions and see if that changes things.
Thanks for the input.
