So, I updated my Huawei Mate SE to the Honor 7X Orea beta, and it stomped on the old Huawei boot logo, which I prefer over the Honor 7X one with the light blue background. I understand that the boot logo is contained within the oeminfo partition, but I can't seem to find a utility to unpack and repack that image format. There are general tools for devices with SnapDragon chipsets here, but none specifically made for the Honor 7X or Mate SE.
Can anyone point me to a utility for unpacking the boot logo on these devices so that we can make changes to the splash screen?

Hi, as the title suggests, I need oeminfo files for my Honor 7X.
I messed up the oeminfo partition and I have the following issues:
1- Build number shows nothing (blank).
2- when I turn on the device, it shows a green screen with blue and red rectangles.
3- the boot animation is Android text instead of the normal boot animation.
My question is, will solving the oeminfo issue fix all the mentioned issues?!
If not, can you guide me how?!
PS: I have an unlocked bootloader and can install twrp if needed.

How to flash that OEM INFO?
Hello everyone. I'm coming to you for help. I am desperate to change the logo of my splash screen, just before the animation.
On the forum 4PDA, I was told that it was in the blocks "mmcblk0p20" and "mmcblk0p21". I can extract these files, but can not edit or mount (via shell). And I do not know which partitions it corresponds to (cust.img, splash.img, misc.img ...?).
Would someone have a track?
I have made some Boot Logos for Motorola phones and would like to share them with the community.
Although the project was initially for Moto G5 Plus (Potter), I have made all versions with the text motorola on the boot images.

These Boot Logos can also be flashed to other Motorola Devices with 1080X1920 screen resolution like:

Other Motorola phone users may use the version of the boot logo with motorola written on the image instead of moto g5 plus.

The file names with DT at the end stand for Boot Logos suited for Dark Theme.
All Boot Logos have been posted on SOURCEFORGE and more would be added in the coming future. The designs have been separated into two folders and further organized inside each folder by version numbers starting with V1. All the zips are functionally the same and you can flash whichever version you like. The only difference is in the text shown on the Boot Logo image. Head down for viewing previews and downloading the boot logos.
How to Install (via Custom Recovery)
Download the desired ZIP file to your phone
Boot to your Custom Recovery
Go to Install
Go to the location where you have saved the ZIP file
Install the ZIP file and reboot
How to Install (via Fastboot)
Download the desired ZIP file to your PC
Extract logo.bin from the zip file into your adb folder on your PC
Boot to Fastboot
Enter these commands in adb: fastboot flash logo logo.bin

AT THE END OF THE DAY (week actually) this won't work for U.S. based phones as far as I could find. Huawei partitions etc. are all ****y and I can't update firmware beyond EMUI 8 because the sites are all down/gone so RIP me and my week of working on this dumb ****. Save yourselves, don't attempt if within the U.S.
I tried a billion things, but eventually I ended up taking my phone apart and getting access through the dev test point and potatoNV. Once fully unlocked I attempted to flash various images, but end up in boot loops until I reinstall EMUI. I'm presuming my problem is with finding a proper image? Let me know if you know otherwise, but I'm looking for latest Android version with GAPPS that will work on the Honor 7x please!
If you're reading this, just ditch the phone or deal with what you have. Leaving the following info in case anyone is stubborn enough to give it a shot, but I highly do not recommend it.

After entering the reboot command, your 7x will reboot and you will see the warning screen where it tells you that your device is unlocked. On that screen "PRESS AND HOLD THE VOLUME UP KEY" to boot into erecovery to perform a Factory Reset. If you do not, the phone will boot loop until it forces you too.

the device isn't fully VNDK-compliant (https://source.android.com/devices/architecture/vndk), and the device can use only the GSI for the same on-device OS version. For example, an Android 9 (API version 28) device that isn't VNDK-compliant can load only an Android 9 GSI image.

I'll be putting em here in hopes of better code nerds figuring out the language this thing speaks for custom boot logos
Tl;Dr is I'm trying to get custom boot logos to work on my F4, everything I could gather is below.
Compared to the normal process of there existing a file like splash.img or boot.img as you would find in a F2 Pro or F3, the F4 has neither
To be more specific, there exists a device partition in /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash, which is a few symlinks to the actual device /dev/block/sda20
However, trying to dd sda20 results a 34MB file of naught but zeroes, viewed in a hex editor it is completely empty.
My guess is this stems from the Virtual A/B partitioning and whatever new boot scheme the peeps what enginerded this thing came up with, making /dev/block/ obsolete.
Side note, I did attempt flashing a logo.img made with the K30 Util (download below) with:

Also tried flashing a splash.img made with a barebones Splash util (again, download below), ran:

Both cases succeeded in flashing but the logo didn't change, completely ignored it and booted normally. Didn't even brick the device. The nerve.

I also tried on my Xiaomi 12 pro without success while on the F2 pro no problem.
This is probably due to partitions A / b but especially that the partitions at the level of this sector is write protected.
