I mean no lips on the left and right edges. I really want to try one because the screen is gorgeous to admire, which is the main reason that I bought this phone. But I don't think I can afford the repair fee in case the screen gets damaged.
Any suggestion? I'm currently waiting for the PITAKA MagCase as their case is the slimmest and lightest I've found so far.
There are also some reviews made by other guys who purchased from them

I was wondering if anybody knows whether or not the SGP Neo Hybrid cases properly fit the galaxy S II from t-mobile or if they are too small or a little bit large since all the different versions of the phone don't have the same dimensions.
It fit fine on day one, but has since sagged in the back and is loose as hell now. The material just doesn't hold shape well.

I agree, the silcone expanded alot and the plastic even reshaped abit. This happened to my friend with this case to. Not recommended.
I can also confirm this sagginess. Not recommended at all, same goes for the other SGP silicone skins.

ive emailed SGP about this issue and they said the warranty covers it so you guys might want to return it to them and ask for a replacement
what did you guys do to your sgp hybrid
ive had a dante red one for ags now and take it on/off once a day to swap batteries and it still isnt sagging at all?? infact its a very nice case and protects the sgs2 really good
it even fits the 2000mah battery and new back cover
its my fave case and sgp offer warranty on any mis-shaped silicone and will send out a new one so stop complaining about them and just use the warranty if you have had problems
like i say ive had mine months now and it is fine and it gts taken on/off once a day
i say buy one , its the best case going for the sgs2

I have the yellow Neo Hybrid on my phone (have for months now) and can confirm the sag in the back. I've tried to use the warranty, but I used Cretouch (authorized reseller of SGP products) and their warranty replacement is only for 30 days, and SGP won't honor the merchandise they produced.
And yes I've read the policy and can see that in my case it wouldn't be covered (so I'm up chocolate creek without a popsicle stick) but doesn't make it a consumer-friendly experience.
If you do decide to buy it, buy it directly from SGP so you have their warranty.
I got mine a couple of months ago, and after a month or so it started sagging at the back.
Also, the frame doesn't even fit tight on my S2, so it feels very flimsy... I went back to using my Momax i-Case Pro.

did you buy a cheap fake though dude
ive just posted about cheap fakes here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20836215#post20836215
the fake ones do collect dust , the genuine ones have a coating to the silicone which means they dont collect dust at all
my dante red sgp hybrid is completley dust free , the fake ones i bought seem to collect dust out of the air let alone in your pocket mate
i say buy a genuine one , these cheap fakes are worst then a £1 case from ebay , they just have sgp branding on them , its like branding a old robin reliant with a dodge viper badge or something
please dont let the poor fakes put you off they are nothing like the genuine sgp cases , as i said above the sgp cases have a coating to the silicone and they are one of the only silicone cases that actually dont collect dust , however these fakes are obvously cheap and dont have that coating hence the dust collecting like anything
Hello wonderful people of xda dev !
My wife brought a galaxy note 2 about a month ago. We only bought a flip case as she never drops her phones. However, unfortunately a week after buying her new phone she dropped it, smashing the screen and digitizer .
She really needs a decent phone, so i'm going to buy her a brand new one. I'll keep her broken one as i will probably buy a new digitizer and fix it.
Now i need to buy her a case so IF it happens again, hopefully the phone has more chance of staying in once piece. I showed her the Otterbox Defender case and although she can see it's really good, she thinks it's extremely ugly. (Typical wife)
If there any cases out there that are just as, or more so, protective as the defender case that might appeal to a woman?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
See if she likes the wallet style variations that are available.
Thank you for the suggestion. Looking at the wallet style cases, they don't seem to offer the protection that she would need. Ideally it would need to protect the phone if it got dropped. she would be devastated if she dropped it and the screen broke again.
Unfortunately, I don't think she can have her cake and eat it too. The Otterbox Defender may not match the purse, but it's the only case I'd trust to protect it from impact damage.

lol that's what i said to her. I'll be getting the Otterbox Defender case as i think it looks nice. Is there any covers or something for the defender case to 'pretty' it up? Perhaps i can convince her
update
Just an update. i'm on the coveroo website and they offer the Otterbox Commuter case with different covers. Is the Otterbox Commuter just as good as the defender? I was thinking also of buying the Ghost Glass from MIME as an additional layer of protection, (hopefully fits with the Commuter)
Also has anyone else used coveroo before?

^^This. Dropped my phone 3 times (twice on tile, once on cement) and the case took all the damage.
Worth the $35.

Your Note and Case. Good starting point for your wife and you to start. Over eleven hundred posts, most of pictures of the cases with the GN2.
I guess the question is how much protection to you want or need. A simple TPU case could be sufficient. I've dropped a couple times, anywhere from a three to six feet on concrete, tile, asphalt, to carpet, and no notice damage with on a TPU case. If you find a case that's appealing, then you a post/person to ask what they think.
I was thinking about getting Samsung Protective Cover for Galaxy Note 2 which is like the Samsung official protective case but also get the Ghost Glass Screen from MIME. Anyone every used the samsung protective cover? I've seen lots of positive reviews for the ghost glass screen..
I searched everywhere for recommendations for a case with OUT a cover. I wanted just a case that covered the back and as slim as possible and with some grip but NOT sticky. I took a chance and bought this case for my 9.7" because I'm new I can't post a link but search eBay for X-Line Shape Soft TPU Rubber Gel Case Cover For Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0"/9.7" the seller is hksanho I highly recommend it as it fits perfectly, is extremely well made (actually I'm shocked at how perfect the molding is) gives grip and is not sticky. I have a Gold Tab S2 and I bought the grey, it perfectly compliments it, further giving it the titanium look. Best of all it took only 6 days from time of order to delivery in Phoenix. I've only bought one or two things from directly from China and was extremely reticent to buy something I couldn't see or feel and not knowing if I'd ever actually get it in my lifetime LOL. Hopefully my post will help others and obviously I have no connection to the seller!
I agree
I purchased one of these cases for my Sony Z4 tablet quite a while ago; and it has been Fantastic! Super thin and fits Perfectly! I just bought one for my S2.
Thanks for finding the case. I was just trying to find out if the case was available for the Samsung - Really, I was!
Seems like the screen is the most vulnerable part. How does this kind of cover help?

After holding the tablet for a longer period of time i found the edges too hard. Based on your experiences would this cover solve this for me? Also if it would make the back of it a little less slippery that would be a bonus
yes -solves also these issues. thanxx for the tip, i ordered a black one these days. very pleased. feels like the light tablet in hands and covers perfectly my external charging pad, which allows wireless charging. very, very cool. for "expeditions" outside the house, i put the whole thing inside a book cover for protection, but at home the "minicase" is fine.

That's what tempered glass screen protectors are for, aren't they?
Also looking for the decent case with cover made by tpu or something. In germany there just a few available from which I already tried one but that one was not fitting well. Any tipps?
..this thread is about case "with out" cover ? - i bought my "x-line" at amazon.de, fittin' perfect..
Is anyone using an open case on the S9? I mean no lips on the left and right edges. I really want to try one because the screen is gorgeous to admire, which is the main reason that I bought this phone. But I don't think I can afford the repair fee in case the screen gets damaged.

So, tell me your ideas, thanks.
I'm not sure what you mean by "no lips" on the sides. If you mean what I think you mean, that would offer even less protection for the edges of the screen.
I received this case yesterday for my new phone and while I do like it, its pretty damn bulky and so much its almost hard to type on the front screen now.
As I used it today I realized I will be much more careful with this device, do I really need such a beefy case with a hinge protector.
So I said, maybe I will switch to the samsung silicone case like this
Amazon.com
My question is, do you really notice the less bulk by switching to something like that?
It still protects the front and back and sure no hinge protection but to lose some of that bulk I think the tradeoff might be worth it.
Thoughts ??
Agreed. I have one sat in a box here as its near nigh impossible to get the gestures working correctly no matter how much you change the gesture sensitivity. I did order an aramid case when I purchased the phone originally therefore I'm using that. Coming from the pixel line I'm so used to gesture navigation that going back to the original navigation method felt a step too far for the case.
That Samsung Aramid case right? Yea thats the one I want to switch to, but where the [email protected]#[email protected]# do I get it? it seems everyone is sold out
I just bought the Samsung Silicone case, green color.
I hope its slimmer then this one I have now..
I have silicone case, it is totaly fine. Wanted arimid but this one was last in saturn store in Kiel (De)
Get the Latercase. It protects the camera module better and fits great. Cheaper than Samsung aramid too.
