Can anyone introduce an open case on the S9? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Is anyone using an open case on the S9? I mean no lips on the left and right edges. I really want to try one because the screen is gorgeous to admire, which is the main reason that I bought this phone. But I don't think I can afford the repair fee in case the screen gets damaged.
Any suggestion? I'm currently waiting for the PITAKA MagCase as their case is the slimmest and lightest I've found so far.

So, tell me your ideas, thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "no lips" on the sides. If you mean what I think you mean, that would offer even less protection for the edges of the screen.

Thinnest Phone Cover

I'm looking for the thinnest Galaxy SII phone cover people can think of. I currently have a CaseMate gel cover but it takes away how lovely this phone is without a cover on and makes it as bulky as my old HTC Leo, not to mention the fact it acts as an insulator and adds to the heat dissipation issues this phone already has.
Does anyone know of a cover/case which adds very little to the footprint of the phone as well as perhaps having holes to help with the heat? The official Samsung one looks nice but doesn't cover the corners which, given these are the most likeliest parts of the phone to hit the floor and be marked and damaged should the phone be dropped, sort of defeats the object to an extent. Also, a cover even thinner than that would be nice.
Cheers in advance.
I also have a case mate as thin as the original (in my drawer since this one arrived) but the case mate offers a little more protection on the corners. Got mine from CPW for £15 but you can get it online cheaper. The fit is perfect.
Is that the 'Barely There' one? I saw that in CPW but it didn't seem to offer any more protection than the Samsung one to me, or perhaps I didn't look at it properly. It also didn't have any holes for ventilation.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Mesh Vent Case - thoughts?

Since a fair few of you will now have one of these, I was just looking to get some thoughts and opinions on one please?
Also I know it can stand vertical with this case on, but can it stand landscape?
Thanks
U can do everything without any trouble, it's a great case.

I've seen that it can stand vertical on it's own when the case is on, I was wondering if it could stand landscape too?
Thanks

Yeah, it's a great little case. I bought the black one, and i'm looking at getting a blue one next. Really cheap for official ones from Trusted Sellers on ebay (roughly £7 without original packaging, £10 with)
the only downside is it lets dust through the little holes, so you get a neat little dust pattern on the back side of your phone - a regular removal and wipe on your trousers helps.
I've had one on it for about 2 weeks and I like it, only drawback is I had to shave down by USB connector plastic to get it to fit while the case is still on. I ordered another from dealextreme because it was really cheap. I notice the case just touches the mic area but doesnt cover it up. I like it because it's not very bulky and the plastic 'mesh' back fits over a soft case and makes it rigid and easy to hold.
Good luck for u
Got a generic cheap mesh case from eBay, its pretty awesome but as mentioned above, gets a bit dirty after some long time, and mine is cheap enough to start breaking on corners, had a few falls tho, and that's the purpose of a case, so the phone doesn't break instead
I had this case, it was okay at the start but in the end the plastic on the top corner started breaking away. Also the one and only time I dropped my phone with this case on I got a nasty scratch just above the screen where there was no protection. I had to ditch it. I'm using a plain black tpu case now, much more protection. The advantage of the mesh case is that its so slim.
Edit : Oh yea and its a dust magnet.
Got the original mesh case, I dropped it twice since I got it. First time no damage at all, protected the phone nicely. Second time the phone popped out of the case as it hit the floor (shoulder hight, had a nice spin to it also) but both the case and the phone didn't suffer any damage. So I guess it serves it's purpose and looks nice as well.
Aesthetically nice.
Crap if you want proper protection.
I bought it merely to protect the camera and back when I put the phone down to prevent scratching. For overall phone protection it's definitely going to be lacking as the top and bottom edges of the phone aren't covered. The case clips on easily but stays on fairly tightly. The rubbery material gives better grip when holding the phone. Dust does get in over a week or so over the back of the phone, though isn't noticeable with the case on, and can easily be wiped off. I think the case looks pretty nice, all key areas are fully accessible and for the price of about £8 was worth it.
is not compatible for i9100P
I've just buy the genuine Samsung mesh vent case for my Samsung Galaxy S2 win NFC (i9100P) but it is NOT compatible. My colleague on the i9100, not NFC, perfect fit.
Some ideas?
Light, strong and keeps the thinness we all love about our S2s!
Dropped mine a couple of times on to wooden floors and no damage yet
Protects the camera lens too when lying on a flat surface
The dust comments are true but only noticeable when u take the cover off so no big deal and it fits so snugly it kinda looks part of the phone!
To answer original question tho, no only stands in portrait
I got an official Samsung one given with mine. Good at protecting from scuffs when it's on a table or desk but wouldn't like to trust it with protecting my phone from a fall.
That's why it's sat unused in a cupboard at work! If anyone wants it just message me and I'll stick in the post.

I'll take the case if it's on offer, let me know your thoughts on shipping to Australia Figure you sent all your convicts here, so a case shouldn't be a problem

V20 Temp Case w/tempered glass <$10

Thinking of getting the below case temporarily until a waterproof one from someone like Lifeproof comes out (hopefully). Wanted to get y'alls opinions to see what everyone is going with out the gates when they get their LG in hand. Probably going with this one because it comes with a removable clip and tempered glass screen protector for under $10 and doesn't cause any functionality loss!! Likely going to do the buy this evening so it gets here this week, that way I have it in-hand before the phone gets here. Let me know what y'all think. Thanks.

Since this thing is designed to survive a drop and they got it to be so slim, I'm going with as light of a case as possible that still keeps the cameras and screen raised off of surfaces.

Yeah, I saw that. Doesn't mean they aren't going to in a few months. Just means they aren't right now. They are only going to design their cases for the most profitable situations and they're likely waiting for this LG to prove itself first before deciding to move forward with it or not.
They made one for the LG G5, so I don't see why they wouldn't make it for the V20 as well....but yea I'm still not going to hold my breath till they make one.

I actually brought that case the screen protector does not fit the phone at all. It's actually slight bigger than the LG V20 itself. The cast itself it's ok but I will most likely go with the clear Ringke Fusion case since it provides drop protectionsand it's not too bulky. I brought it for the same reason 2-1 deal with the glass screen protector. Seems as though they won't be any good glass screen protectors that will be available to cover the 2nd screen due to the curves.
For a temporary case I got this one. It isn't super bulky, has enough grip and give to protect and the cutouts are enough to protect the camera. (I haven't tried the screen protector yet, need to get time to dedust it and all. Still using the shipping protection film in the meantime.)
Super-bulky may depend on your hand size though, since I found the note 7 in a 2-piece case to be "a little large but fine"

So, tell me what cases do you have and why? thanks.

Question Spigen Slim Armor Pro, has anyone switched from it?

I received this case yesterday for my new phone and while I do like it, its pretty damn bulky and so much its almost hard to type on the front screen now.
As I used it today I realized I will be much more careful with this device, do I really need such a beefy case with a hinge protector.
So I said, maybe I will switch to the samsung silicone case like this
Amazon.com
My question is, do you really notice the less bulk by switching to something like that?
It still protects the front and back and sure no hinge protection but to lose some of that bulk I think the tradeoff might be worth it.
Thoughts ??
Agreed. I have one sat in a box here as its near nigh impossible to get the gestures working correctly no matter how much you change the gesture sensitivity. I did order an aramid case when I purchased the phone originally therefore I'm using that. Coming from the pixel line I'm so used to gesture navigation that going back to the original navigation method felt a step too far for the case.
That Samsung Aramid case right? Yea thats the one I want to switch to, but where the [email protected]#[email protected]# do I get it? it seems everyone is sold out
I just bought the Samsung Silicone case, green color.
I hope its slimmer then this one I have now..
I have silicone case, it is totaly fine. Wanted arimid but this one was last in saturn store in Kiel (De)
Get the Latercase. It protects the camera module better and fits great. Cheaper than Samsung aramid too.
