I was looking for a TWRP for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. I've found a chinese board where a user called YouLinw compiled TWRP for us. According to him and the users there (Google Translator) it seems to work. Can't test it by now, because my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 isn't shipped right now. It was really tricky to register in this chinese board and then to download the file. You can download it yourself in the board and for all other users I made a mirror with no registration.
There's now a new english TWRP from Xiaomi.eu.
I don't take any responsibilities for this file. If you break or damage your phone, it's your fault!
The recovery is in chinese - but you shuold be able to use it with screenshots in your language.

Great find! Any idea what version of SuperSU can be used to root The device ?
In this chinese board there's something written like, that SuperSu 2.82 is suitable for the Mix 2 (without guarantee).

Should work. My phone arrives next week i will test it.

Can confirm, superSU 2.82 works on Xiaomi EU rom version 7.9.22
unable to mount /system after nadroid backup
TWRP installed fine and experienced no issues until I made a full Nandroid backup. After the backup I have issues flashing because the device is unable to mount /system . busy or in use error.
So now I wait until official TWRP.
If you are having any twrp issues just reboot into twrp and the issues will be gone. Try again!

For the life of me I cannot get this TWRP to do anything. My phone came with Global 8.5 Stable. I confirmed my bootloader is unlocked. I flashed the TWRP and booted it, it boots fine but trying to backup anything I get Failed to unmount "/system" (Device or resource busy). I tried to reboot back into TWRP still same problem, I tried to reflash TWRP through both fastboot and TWRP image installer. I downloaded the EU rom and tried to flash it and it also failed to flash. OEM unlock is checked, USB debugging is on. TWRP gets over written with the Mi Mix recovery whenever I boot back into system, it doesn't ask me if I want to modify anything when it first boots. Why is this giving me so much trouble I've never encountered this problem with TWRP. Any Advice?.
Thanks much

There is still no official TWRP available. I always do a full wipe factory reset and manual wipe everything before flashing anything. I also get the errors, but I've never tried to restore a backup because I usually just do clean installs each time because the ROMs available right now aren't stable enough for daily use.
The trick for EU rom is complete wipe than boot back into TWRP and try flashing. You will get 2 errors but will install fine. You can install USB drive or transfer EU rom through mtp via TWRP.
I'll do it like @allrockedout
It seems this TWRP is more beta than stable :-/
Also check the "Mount" button and uncheck the option to open all partitions readonly.
Then reboot TWRP. Last but not least before performing any flash operations (ROM or Magisk/SU-Stuff) check all partitions as marked - then do your flash work
i also miss some more partition that are available to other devices like EFS.
Did anyone know about another TWRP version or devs that are working on one?

I have read the thread for TWRP COMPLETE BACKUP which has 2 files to flash and it doesn't decrypt which is why I tried the P10 which everyone at the end of the thread is doing
I have already rooted and want to make a back up BND-L24

I tried that one and am still getting the system failed to unmount error. Is this because I already rooted with Magisk ? I tried a half dozen recoveries today and they all give me the same error
I lost the root updating and now I do not know how to root in emui 9.1.
- I no longer have TWRP and MAGISK.
- And try to root with magisk using VOL+ and always enter EMUI's eRecovery.
I do not know what else to do I need help:crying::crying::crying:
Did you update with the emui updater or with the e recovery? Did you have twrp on the e recovery and magisk on the normal recovery as advised by Freya? Did you try you reroot your device?

I just made root few minutes ago, and I want factory setup, I installed [ROM][AL00][5/9/19] Mate 20 X GlobAL00ized 2.2 (EMUI 9.1 fw 120) [Debloated|DeOdex]
only the update_full.zip not the transformation rom.
Hi, I have EVR-AL00, I installed this ROM until step 4:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-x/development/rom-mate-20-x-global00ized-2-0-emui-9-1-t3920956
But I have a lot of bugs and issius like OPTIMIZER doesn`t work and color and temperature, I don't know why. And now I want to get back to original custom rom using EMUI's eRecovery, pressing vol+ after ON. Starting dwonload version: 9.1.0.120 (C00E119R1P17) untill 99%, and don't install or continue and says "error during autentification". I tried to connect to HiSuite and HIsuite don't recognice my cell phone.
Where I can find Stock EVR-AL00 firmware, emui 9.0 or 9.1.Please help.

Please read instruction for flashing carefully, especially paraph 6. Sometimes you have to flash twrp many times before succeed. And follow the procedure with buttons thoroughly.
I managed to fix several things I managed to fix the official emui 9.1, I managed to have root in emui 9.1 with magisk, because it does not work the vol + the only thing that works is to install the administrator, to pass the magisk recovery file to try the primer and after it load restart , then formattee of factory and the cell will stay as it always was but now with root that great
@Kurocham, can you explain this please?
I have mate 20x emui 9.1.
Can't work magisk patch root. It goes but sms have fc and phone app is somehow empty.
What is your solution feom stock rom to root?

Same here i am on emui 9.1 .0.123 with magisk patched and contact and dialer cannot open at all but if boot normal without magisk it fine
Solution is
Backup all, then factory reset. After reset don't allow phone to boot, immediately go to fastboot and flash recovery_ramdisk with magisk. Then reboot and wait for phone first init. It tells that root is found, press ok.
After that we hawe root and SMS working

Thanks for your answer. However the problem is definitely not in writing command. I have rooted many emui 9 rom before on my mate 9, 10, Honor note 10 and now 20 x so that I made a batch file to root these phones. Also the error message is different when you made an error in writing command. The message "Failed (remote: Command not allowed)" occurred on my Honor note 10 before and I turn off "Find my phone" and it worked. Now I turn off "Find my phone" in my mate 20 x and it did not work.

Try the lastest TWRP in this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...wrp-3-3-1-0-huawei-p8-lite-2017-t3953122/amp/
After installing system.img, u need to resize the system partition, until see the used space ~17xxmb and free ~18xx mb,
after that flash gapps
and MUST flash Magisk Phh 19.3
the flash the patch file.
After first boot, you need to, format data in erecovery
Everything works smoothly except......can not make and receive calls, ooopss
update, i try to roll back to emui8, and start the process again. it works now.
recommend to update, lets teach the old dog new trick
A big job ahead ?. I will try and I will tell you if it works thank you for your answer. One last question is there a way to keep a custom recovery because sometimes magisk's module causes a botloop (sorry for my bad English ?)

So I came back (finally) to emui 8 and I tried to install the recovery custom but I still cannot access the internal storage memory.
I think it comes from my model because I have a Huawei GR5 2017 which is supposed to be a 'copy' of the honor 6x but all the roms which require emui 5.x installed do not work.
In any case thank you very much for your help! [emoji106]

the same process with android 10.

These are the steps (thanks @DunoCZ) I followed if an Honor 6X user want to install this ROM:
- *Upgrade to EMUI 8!*
- *Remove the saved fingerprints and Google Accounts just in case*
- Flash the TWRP recovery from @Dil3mm4
- Format cache, dalvik cache, data and system: TWRP -> Wipe -> Advanced Wipe
- Flash the ROM via TWRP (you can try with fastboot but it already works with TWRP): TWRP -> Install -> Install Image
- Resize the system partition: TWRP -> Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> System -> Resize (DO NOT FORMAT!)
- (Optional) Install GApps, Magisk
- (Required) Install patch
- Reboot and wait

Yea, i cant get it to work. No matter what i do after
- flashing system.img
- resizing the system partition
- installing opengapps
- installing magisk
- installing the patch
followed by either:
-straight up booting it.
- doing everything i can in every bootloader.
evenm if i freshly format /data the system get stuck in a boot. Have tried all of the recoveries in this thread. All are basically the same, from what i have observed.
Edit: Figured it out. apparently my gapps was somehow broken. Downloaded a fresh arm64-ogapps and all is working now

Ok let me make it simple for you.
1. Flash stock Oreo Rom (no need to boot it)
2. Flash TWRP by Dilemma in fastboot.
3. Go to recovery and wipe data by typing yes to decrypt data partition (if not already decrypted)
4. Go to fastboot and flash system.img
5. Reboot to recovery and resize system partition
6. Flash GApps
7. Flash los patches zip
8. Flash disable Dm verity patch
9. Flash magisk-phh zip in the end.
10. Reboot and wait.
I used these steps to flash different GSIs/ROMs and it works perfectly.
I managed to flash the rom but without flashing the gapps because I don't know exactly which one to flash should I flash gapps for android 10 arm64 or gapps for android 8.0 ??
try both and it gives me error 20

No fastboot Rom is available so best bet is to have a TWRP backup first, save it to your PC before trying anything else.
Yes. Then upload a copy of the twrp backup here ?

Its advisable to use TWRP backup of your phone, as I was trying to do that for some of my friends, but the backup contains my own Mi account, which i was unable to get rid off.

log out your mi and google account first, do a factory reset and then make a full twrp backup then upload it here for the sake of humanity (and of course if u need it to restore back if u bricked your phone)

OTA cannot be flashed via TWRP. You have to use the process described above.
