Is there a way to take screenshots with the optical trackpad/power button? I really don't like the shake ones that much because it often rotates my screen and is inconvenient. If there is, how would I set this up?

Version 2.3.4 has that build in. All you do is press the power button and one of the options is to take screenshot.
Hello
I bought a Galaxy Nexus but I have a Question about it.
I know there is a gradient effect but I have strange horizontal lines in it.
When i put my brightness on manual and 100 % I have this.
Is this normal and you guys have this to?
This picture is taken where you set your alarm clock.

Thnx
EDIT: I just checked that screen against mine and I show them as well. Its not your screen though its the background image for that screen.
To verify that you can take a screenshot with the camera ( hold vol down + power ) and look at it on a computer you will see the lines there as well so its not the hardware.
i have horizontal banding on screens with a gradient too, but i don't see it on any solid backgrounds. some dude posted a gray image file (with no gradient) that you can display to check your screen. not sure if i saw that on XDA, DroidForums.net or somewhere else, but i'll post back with a link if i find it.
EDIT: see post #4 here
I took some screenshots with power button + vol down.
Here a screenshot of the alarm settings

Is this normal?
Thnx
I use my S-Pen to take screenshots quite often. My favourite thing is that they can take screenshots of Snapchat without alerting the other person as a normal screenshot would.
My problem is, these screenshots aren't even close to the quality of a normal screenshot. (take with palm swipe or power+home button)
These S-pen screenshots look like they've been compressed to 10% quality or something, you can still see the picture, but it's no where near the original quality. Is this normal? How could I fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Hi.. maybe i'm missing something (very probable), but i can't seem to find out if it's possible to have both buttons on the camera screen at once, for taking a photo or starting a video recording.
I've attached three pics to show what i'm on about.
1st shows M8 camera screen. Only button is to take a picture.
2nd shows M8 dual shot screen, on here it's possible to do both, take a pic or start a video.
3rd is from the One X camera screen. On it it's also possible to do both from the same screen.
Is it possible to get both options on screen on the M8? or do i have to keep switching between photo & video mode in the menu? which is a bit annoying if i want to quickly take a picture but have forgotten to switch to photo mode!
Thanks in advance for any help. :good:
That'll be a no then
By going to video mode (press the 4 circles in bottom right of the screen and select video), you can start recording video, and after you record a while, 2-3 sec, a camera button (that captures images while recording) appears under the stop button.
I don't know if there is any other way to get them both simultaneously.
The second pic is dual capture mode. This mode allows to use front and back camera at the same time not take a pic and video. You can see the red box in the corner which is the front camera image.

What i meant is that the buttons to take a picture or start recording a video are both on screen.
What i hoped for was a way to have it like the last pic from the One X, so that as soon as you start the camera up you can have photo & video buttons on screen.. but it seems as if that's not possible, maybe because of the two cameras on the back of the M8?

What about the Zoe option? You can take pictures with it or you can hold the "capture" button in for 3 seconds or so and it starts recording a video.

There already is that option in camcorder mode. As soon as you start recording the camera button becomes available for taking pictures.

This isn't exactly the best option since you lose any ability to use the duo camera effects if you take pictures with Zoe. Does anyone know of any mods that bring back the photo capture and video capture buttons on the stock Sense 6 camera UI screen at the same time?
