Hello all
Is there a solution to get a functioning radio (the normal one that searches frequencies and not internet based ones) on custom ROMs ?
P.S
I am beginner with custom ROM stuff. Am interested in installing the LineageOS ROM on my P2 but I use the radio on my phone a lot and thus asking if there exists a way to have it functioning on custom ROM
Lineage 14.1 comes with fully working FM radio

Hi every body
There was a problem with my Galaxy Armani I9010‘s signal (antenna)every time when I want to install any custom ROMs like MIUI,Cyanogen and Darky ROMs on it. You know this phone is very like to Captivate so I use Captivate’s ROMs for installing on Armani, but every time after installing these ROMs and booting I have very low signal (antenna) or in some locations I have no signal in my phone, by the way, I changed the “MODEM.bin” of the Zip installation file to the Armani’s MODEM file but nothing happened and I still have this problem could you help me to solve that? Is it possible to install any custom ROMs on Armani I9010?
Thanks for your assistance
i really want to know this encase i dont brick my phone and having to go through a formal reset of resetting my phone when installing another custom ROM
i hope someone can answer this ASAP thanks
and what custom kernel is needed for cyanogenmod7.2
There are plenty of threads about this, simply put: it's the software that controls the radio. If you want a better description search for one of the other threads.
And the custom rom will have the recommended baseband, if you already have it you won't need to reflash.
Sent from my LT18i
The baseband is a subsystem of the phone that controls radio communications. It controls cellular hardware and communications with cell towers.
The FXP team bundles their kernel along with their CM releases. (It's the boot.img in the zip).
Does any one know a suitable radio img which doesn't get too hot while using HSDPA 3G.
And please if possible do tell me your best experience regarding battery whether it is cutom rom or stock and custom kernel or stock kernel.
I have searced many places and sorry if it has been discussed before.
If you are having issues with GPS on AOSP based ROMS all you need to do is:
*flash a stock ROM (stock ROM is one based on the LG ROM that came with the phone I recommend this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/rom-stock-root-deodex-t2932683 )
*get a gps lock
*then flash or restore whatever AOSP based ROM you like.
GPS will now be working for you.
This has been a fix for GPS on AOSP based roms for years and I had to recently use it myself as I was getting no GPS on all AOSP based ROMS.
Also make sure that GPS isn't actually broken in the AOSP based ROM you are flashing because if GPS is broken in the ROM then obviously this isn't going to fix it. This fix is for people having GPS issues on ROMs that have working GPS which is currently all KK and LP AOSP based ROMs we have for the vs985. Hope this helps someone.
bump. Still seeing people posting about no gps on AOSP roms so bumping this in hopes that it gets seen more often.
Interesting. Just curious here: If I "Restore" a 4.4.4 ROM, get the lock, then Restore back my current AOSP Lollipop-based ROM, will that work? As in, is the GPS lock sequence stored in the GPS hardware flash or something?

Honestly I don't know why this fixes GPS I just know it does. Like I said in the OP this has been a fix for GPS on AOSP based ROMS for years as I learned this trick back a couple years ago on my LG Spectrum. I was one not getting GPS on any AOSP based roms but noticed most weren't having issues with it so I remembered this fix and tried it on my phone and I haven't had GPS issues since. Once you do this you should no longer need to again no matter how many roms you flash; just be sure to always get a lock on each ROM you flash before flashing a new one as that may cause the issue to comeback.
Bumping again because people are still constantly posting about gps being broken on AOSP based ROMS and don't know how to research the forums for solutions to their issues but would rather clutter threads with the same questions over and over and over.
Help
So does "get a gps lock just mean open up maps and get it to lock onto a gps signal?
Hello, is there a custom rom or a debloated stock rom for lenny4?
If not, can anyone redirect me to a nice tutorial to take official rom, or my own rom backup, debloat it and then reinstall it?
Otherwise a tutorial on how to port android on other devices in general please?
I'm also looking to learn other general stuff, specially porting and modding android.
Edit: Even if there are software/script and such already made that automatic debloat it is fine.
The smartphone has android nougat 7.0.
