Confused on processor

I have an SM-T705, bought in the UK through Ecell on Ebay. I was under the impression that the LTE variant comes with the Snapdragon 800 and not the Exynos. In CpuZ its telling me i have the Exynos Octa core and in Antutu, does this sound right.

I think its the t805 only comes with snapdragon

So far all the (European) devices have the Exynos, T805 as well. Maybe there are some around with snapdragon in Asia or US , who nows.

Excellent, i was going mad thinking something had changed when i'd flashed a rom or installed some Xposed module, lol.

SM-T320 (Tab Pro 8.4) with Exynos

I have been looking but haven't found the answer, sorry if I missed it. I'm pretty sure that my SM-T320 version of Tab Pro has Exynos SOC instead of Snapdragon. I bought it from Hong Kong during a business trip. My question is, that are there versions with Exynos and Snapdragon under the same model name? Cyanogenmod and most of all other custom ROMS are for Snapdragon version? Thanks in advance.

Used CPU-Z. I was wrong, it has Snapdragon 800 inside. Sorry for possible confusion.

Question about Snapdragon 845 vs Exynos 9810

There is a recent article from Androidcentral that indicates that the Galaxy S9 variant with the Snapdragon 845 is faster than the variant with the Exynos 9810.

Can anyone confirm if the results are correct?
Based on this feedback and without concern over supported base-bands, I am wondering if there is any other other reason to choose an Exynos variant over a Snapdragon variant.
Would it be safe to assume that the G9650 Dual Sim variant (I think from China or Korea) would be the best option? (Its also considerably cheaper than the G965FD)

That does seem to be the case.
I've seen some real world speed test videos and they're neck and neck.
The Exynos isn't locked either and supports faster LTE. I'd probably go SD845 if you could but if you want to tweak the phone or care about sound quality the Exynos 9810 is the way to go.

UK Exynos SoC

Hi all
I just realised that my Samsung UK Note 10+ is not using Snapdragon 855 but the Exynos 9825. I thought the Exynos CPU is only available in Canada and the far east.
I have to say, if I knew that Samsung were selling the Exynos edition on their website I wouldn't have ordered it. I'm afraid to ask if I'm missing anything as I was under the impression that the Exynos are inferior to the Snapdragon CPUs.

Exynos is the European chip.

Snapdragons are mainly gor USA, Canada and Hong Kong, because of some country/carrier regulations, the rest of the world use exynos, which are somewhat "inferior" in some areas, not all, mainly batt usage, as for performance, side by side the difference is really little

I believe it's the other way around in the best case. Battery usage is almost the same (They claim SD to have better standby drain, but I can't tell). While performance is way better on the SD, especially in gaming where the Adrino graphics processor performs much better than the Mali.

What's wrong with the Exynos variants ?
I'm in the UK and my S8+ / Note 9 where both Exynos and there was absolutely no perceivable difference after years of using a SD powered device.
Frankly not getting a device because of the processor difference between SD / Exy is just pure arrogance / stupidity.
Both vairents are Rootable so people can't even argue that anymore.

I agree with you, exynos variants are indeed excellent, SD versions may be slightly better, but not as to despise Exynos ones

Battery drain on the Exynos variant is a fact. I have both versions of the phone and with SD I have far better cellular reception and WiFi and less to non battery drain on standby.

Can I ask if the SD Note 10+ gets OTA updates in the UK and (at least) Google Pay works?
There are some reasonably priced handsets on eBay, mostly from Switzerland that look quite attractive (4G variants),

5G or no 5G is the question on Note 10+

Greetings all,
I have a TMO Note 10+ and got it when they came out. My question is does my phone support 5G? I would hope so since I bought it when it was released. The model number is SM-N975U. I just got the upgrade (last night) to UI2 and Android 10, however I have no idea if this upgraded my phone to 5G. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Not entirely sure how it works over there but the Note10+ with 5G over here in the UK is SM-N976B and is specifically called "Galaxy Note10+ 5G" in About phone.
Edit: SM-N975U is not a 5G device but again not sure exactly how it works in the US with differing standards of 5G.

No unfortunately, 5G requires newer modern and thus there's a newest version of Note 10+ that's called Note 10+ 5G that you need to buy directly from T-mobile

Wish it did (bought mine soon after it came out), but the Note 10+ (the SM-N975U) we have doesn't have the 5G hardware in it.

unless you specifically bought the 5G variant there is no way to get it as it is different hardware. it's the same reason in the UK the 4G model is dual SIM while the 5G is a single SIM as the 5G model includes a single 5G modem while the 4G model caries 2 of the much cheaper 4G modems.
it's why I made sure when I purchased to phone at launch to get the 5G variant as there is no software way to upgrade from 4G to 5G, the 5G variant could get on 5G from the day of launch the problem was finding a supplier and a mast that actually supported 5G, but the last couple of months at least in the UK coverage has improved and seems to be accelerating with more firms and towers expected to make announcements January.

The 5G Variant of the Note Plus is N976U - and from what I can see, the specs are the same as on the Note 10 Plus with the exception of the 5G capability.
Something interesting - I ran antutu benchmarks on a N975U (highest score was 475,000) and a N976U (highest score was 496,000) and I am curious why there was such a big score difference between the two phones - they are nearly identical in specs. Shouldn't their scores be closer?
The only other difference I can see is that the N975U was built in Vietnam and the N976U was built in Korea.

If you wanted the 5g version of the phone you should have purchased the 5g version. They have been pretty clearly marked when you purchase them. Perhaps you can exchange your 4g for 5g if you are still within your return window.

The N976U for AT&T and T-mobile has the SD855+ that’s why the scores are higher than the non 5g note..

Actually no, Note 10 5G T-mobile has a regular 855 and not 855+
One plus McLaren has 855+

Actually it does have the SD855+. It’s as simple as downloading CPU-z or a similar app and compare the CPU and GPU speeds to the non 5g version and u will have your answer right in front of you.

I stand corrected, thanks. On the spec page on T-mobile's site, it lists the processor as SM8150(SKU for regular 855) and not SM8150-AC which is the SKU for 855+ which made me think it has 855. MKBHD guy also thought One plus came with faster processor. https://youtu.be/nmnTAOU44SI?t=94

While it is hard to disprove when you apparently have evidence in your hand, I cannot see a single other place on the internet that references the Note 10+ 5G getting the 855+.
It would be interesting to see what's on the hardware tab in the Samsung phone info app.
Edit: Nice man, that's quite the device. Best SOC in the best handset.

Qualcomm didn't waste time differentiating overclocked hardware names on the chips. Even other 855+ phones don't say 855+ in cpu and hardware apps.
Samsung and the carriers don't want to upset people who bought the non 5g and advertise the 5g versions have overclocked chipsets .

I'm sure there's a good reason they didn't call it the 855+ but I'm doubtful it's so other customers aren't upset.
