Hi,
I use Hotspot and since the last update (G960FXXU1ARC5 / ARC4), when I connect my computer to the S9 wifi, I can not connect to a PPTP VPN.
Does anyone have the same problem or can test?
Thank's !

Hi there, I have the same issue with my Samsung s9. With my friends s8 it works perfectly fine, but not with s9.
Thanks for helping, if some1 know the issue.
The same here. VPNs not working on my phone and not even on my laptop using the phone as hotspot.
New update in germany : G960FXXS1ARD1
Maybe a good patch ...

the problem is with HOTSPOT and Power saving mod don't resolve problem ...
I suggest that everyone that as the problem to also open an incident with Samsung instead of just speaking in forums.
This problem is not on the priority list for Samsung and will take time to get corrected.
Meanwhile Samsung as replaced my S9+ as well as all the original cases that I've bought for an Note 8.
I've considered to ask for a full refund and go back to my old smartphone but during this stage I have the need for a dual sim equipment and to be compatible to Gear S3.

Hello,
I recently upgraded to .757 firware (rooted) and today I tried to tether my 3G connection via WiFi as I used to do on JB. The thing is that it doesn't work and after trying, I get a "error" in the settings (see pic attached). Furthermore, I can't turn WiFi on, unless I reboot.
I've already seen some workarounds (like deleting /data/misc/wifi) but it doesn't work for me... it's annoying because otherwise, rom is great.
Anybody ever encountered this issue or knows a quick fix ?
PS: I know there are some troubles with T-Mobile, and I'm not on T-Mobile network, to make it clear
Thanks !

I got it too, flash rom again and everything will be ok
I have been unable to tether using bluetooth. Everything seems to go through but the notification icon does not stay in the status bar, and there is no actual connection.
Tethering via bluetooth with an Xperia Z on 4.3 works just fine.
So I can confirm that something is broken in the tethering function.

Didn't work... I can't figure what's going on, third party apps don't work either, there must be something broken really. I don't understand.
Can somebody please confirm that their tethering works on KK .757 ?

have you check about your wifi hotspot SSID name?
please fill it and try to enable your wifi hotspot
Is it possible to have turned on both wifi and wifi hotspot at the same time?any tweaks,Xposed modules?
Also is it posssible to remove a client from wifi hotspot(ie manage user)
Probably not since they use the the same antenna, otherwise the option should have been there already .
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
As to managing users, the closest I can think of is changing the name and/or password of the hotspot and re-configuring the devices you want to keep attached.

Hi!
It's been a week since I've been using my ZenFone, and everything is quite nice (except maybe the fact that I had to manually enter my APN settings)... however, I have not been able to share my internet to my laptop via Wi-Fi, nor Bluetooth nor USB.
I know it's something to do with the phone, because this entire week I've had to carry around my old Nokia Lumia JUST for this purpose. Other than this, I've been enjoying full 4G LTE speeds and all. APN settings are correct.
Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

Really weird I have the 551 4gb ram 2.33ghz and works flawlessly. Really don't know what to tell u.
I have Asus Android USB drivers and there is a folder named tethering... I think you have to install those drivers...But as i know android doesn't need any drivers for tethering....Still i have provided you the zip file...You can try installing those drivers and then maybe try to tether your device...Please confirm the working of tethering/drivers if successful

Yeah, drivers aren't properly signed so I couldn't install them. I gotta enable that, so perhaps I'll try later... however, the problem is not that my laptop is not connecting to the Zenfone; it's the phone that is not letting any device connect to the Internet.
On Windows (Windows Phone, and iPhones and an LG that I've tested so far), it shows as a limited connection when using Wi-Fi or USB. I've attached a screenshot of these cases when trying to use my laptop.
Thanks again guys

Try this , it worked for me before for other Android phone.
Connect laptop via tethering , after connection disable data and enable again.
I haven't had any issues with the 551 1.8/4GB on the pre-root image.

I gave that a try, and didn't work. I think the phone is refusing to route anything to the Internet. I tried to make a simple DNS query and it refuses to respond; trying to use Google's DNS didn't work either. This is astonishingly weird.
EDIT: I've also just updated to 2.15 and problem persists, by the way.
Zenfone 2 could not tether with internet on Fido
I have the same problem with my Zenfone 2 4gb ram 64gb not getting internet access after laptop or other phone connected to its hot spot. My carrier Fido said there is no settings to get tethering to work, it should work automatically as long as data was working with the APN.
Cannot fine any help on resolving this issue, very frustrating since everything seems to work fine.
Problem Solved. Update your Zenfone to v2.18.40.12 for ZE551ML while v2.18.40.7 for ZE550ML.
This OTA update came out just recently in June and now tethering works on my phone plus a lot of upgraded features too.
On my device hotspot was working badly on Oreo, but now on Pie after the initial upgrade, and the second one in December there is no internet after connecting to xperia hotspot.
Tried from other phones and 3 laptops, and its the same, it connects but theres no internet.
Does it work on your devices guys, ot is it just me?
My hotspot works fine.

Thank you, that worked!
Now I got full LTE speed on hotspot, comparing to poor 5 MBbit in Oreo.
Hi,
Same problem here, I tried to change all the settings about data but it works for 5 minutes and then it doesn't work.

If it worked for 5 minute the problem is right that. Try to change carrier or try with a friend's sim

It was working fine before the Pie upgrade.
Moreover, when the issue happens, I still have internet on my phone, but not on my PC.
Hey guys,
Trying on this more active forum...
I just bought the S21+, overall great phone except couple of issue with Android Auto and Whatsapp.
I was able to fix the Android Auto issue (wouldn't connect, had to remove the latest Google Chrome updates) but the whatsapp issue is above my paygrade.
I scanned the QR code and everything works but as soon as the phone screen goes black, whatsapp is slow and disconnects often. Not completely disconnected as after I send a message perhaps 10/15 seconds later it gets set but still not responsive as before (S8+)
Any idea?
you can try other software to watch network connection status, if no problem, maybe that's compitability issue on s21+

Not sure if you managed to fix this but in case you haven't.
You need to make WhatsApp a non-optimized app in the battery settings. That way WA will consume as much battery as needed to stay alive and to connect to WA Web.

No, it shouldn't matter. I was just trying to provide an option.
I really don't have any problem when its on mobile data but I do have problems with Wifi from time to time cause WhatsApp Web is poorly implemented with the app.
Sorry I couldnt provide any help.
