8.0 to 7.1.1 - Moto Z2 Play Questions & Answers

How to downgrade 8.0 Moto Z play to 7.1.1

Lol people are crazy about doing the opposite... Anyway just flash the Stock firmware via bootloader and you will be back on 7.1.1
Don't forget to backup your EFS folder ...infact backup the whole ROM (and upload the backup of ROM here lol)
Good Luck

You really won't need the stock recovery once you flash twrp unless you want to go back to stock.
Could you explain Encrypted Boot/Decrypted boot ? I'm a new user from huawei.

If I could extract the system.img properly (I always get some kind of error on Windows or Linux using about 4 different tools) I would be able to modify it and make one.

so the new twrp can flash img files like using fastboot?

You need to flash the decrypted boot.img or the stock rooted decrypted rom I posted, then go into TWRP and wipe then format data. Then your internal storage will be recognized.

1st post has all what I know of the package.
Hello, what is the procedure to update my M8?
Guys this isn't an update per se. It is open source kernel and drivers which (hopefully) will allow somebody to create a custom ROM from.
Anyone able to develop something like cm or if these kernel sources?? Have been waiting for this for ages. I'll start using my m2 8.0 again! Stupid emui 3!!!
Seconded. Would love to get an update. The hardware is good but the OS feels so old!!
How about the M2 10" (M2 A01L) for update ?
Can I flash kernel? cause TWRP says 'No OS installed'

That's strange I replied earlier, anyway thanks for the response Starchm , If I kept it on Marshmallow is their a easy to understand guide to root it on marshmallow that you could point me to?
You are probably on chinese ROM. Browse through this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/vibe-p1/development/qpst-flashing-vibeui-3-1-s272-rom-t3386650 and flash modified Mashmallow ROM with root capability

Huawei Y6II LYO-L21 works on LYO-L01. TWRP System backup for restoring as firmware

After unsuccessfully searching for Huawei firmware for this phone, I've decided to create this thread for those people in need to find a solution to restore corrupted or missing system or boot partitions.
This method requires TWRP recovery installed previouslly in your phone. You can find how here thanks to @snikerfreak
I'm sharing a backup for Huawei Y6II Compact LYO-L21 Dual Sim.
This Backup include Boot, System and Cust partitions. I believe system is what most people need and probably boot, cust I don't really know, so please use them at your own risk. If you're not sure what do you need, start restoring just system
This are the links:
MEGA
Dropbox
There you would find a TWRP folder, you have to copy content to your SD card as follow SD/TWRP/BACKUPS/LYO-L21/2009-12-31--18-03-31_LYO-L21C577B123 in order to TWRP recovery to find your backup. I used TWRP 3.0.2.0 version to create it.
I don't have the phone anymore so I can not keep testing it
I hope it is helpful and please report back your experience.
EDIT: New link to MEGA

I restored all of them. [Boot], [Cust] and [System].
I'm hoping for LineageOS for the LYO-L21 coming out very soon. In case the first builds are to unstable we can go back now to the stock rom with this backup.

You can't get it from your device. You need a full firmware package. Moto has not released it yet as far as I know.

Either boot TWRP temporrarily or patch your boot.img in Magisk Manager and flash it manually with fastboot.
