Will there not be a recall for Europe?

This piece of news boggles my mind right now. I wish there wasn't a recall for Europe. But only if they prove safety of European models.
http://www.techradar.com/news/now-samsung-says-note-7-replacements-are-safe-to-use
Edit: I was since informed that this was older news. So not much hope here anymore.
If no recall what about Gear VR? I will be getting as a gift and now Oculus banned it for Note 7... What about 2 year updates? If they can deliver it + prove that EU Note 7 are safe I will still wait for mine.
The supplier i preorderd with has changed the release date (again) to "2017", thats as specific they would go.
Even if they continued with an European release i'm not sure i would get it.
I'm in Sweden BTW.

I hope it works out as I would really like on ( safe one of course )
Waited long enough, first for the Note 5 which I then decided against as it was a major dissapointment and then patiently have been waiting for this one so kinda sucks if it get discontinued
I have since been informed this was older news than the global statement. So hope decreases further.

Will we get Android 8.0?etc

Hello,
I just received my phone yesterday and so far so great!I was wondering when will be getting 8.0 if we are.\
When I ordered the phone,I didn't get the choice to pick my storage.I saw that the phone has up to 128gb?I got the 32 and only has 3gb of ram not 4 like what I saw on androidauthority.com
-Yes, this phone will receive Android 8.0, maybe on Christmas, maybe in a few months.
-The phone has 32GB of onboard storage, it has up to 128GB of expandable storage via microSD.
-The BND-L24 only has 3GB of RAM, I don't know why, but the device costs less compared to the 4GB variants. I've seen the other 7X variants with 4GB of RAM cost up to 250 dollars.
Yes
Definitely, without any doubt.
Another info, US got the 3/32 which is priced at 200$, while EU got 4/64 priced at 300€, the reviewer of android authority (the written version) got the EU model
Just got device today impressed so far
I have BND-L21 4GB 64GB UK will be getting 8.0 sure enough soon

Since I'm getting the 4/64 variant, can you tell me approximately how much free RAM you have when there's nothing in the background?!
Sure

Really enjoying device so far very smooth
Kinda wish had gone type C and rounded the screen edges like on the G6 would of looked nicer and press renders show edge to edge screen near enough even though quiet a side bezel, still impressed for the price let's hope it's popular in development

Huawei lost credibility with US consumers when they broke promises about updating the Huawei Mate 2 (HAM2)--a promise made at the launch of the phone. After rolling out updates to the phone in other world markets, they told US owners that they weren't getting an update and would have to be content with Jellybean. It took a massive protest on the Internet to shame Huawei into working on and releasing an update to the US model of the HAM2. A lot of us who went through that episode don't rule out that it could happen again. Huawei wants sales in the US market but doesn't want to do the leg work to earn customer goodwill and brand recognition.

Not complaining, just reminding US buyers about the same promise of an update, made at sales launch, being broken. I'm hoping Huawei won't do that again, especially since they seem to have struck a deal with AT&T to sell the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Huawei build quality is very good. Just be aware that you can't necessarily rely on promises of OS updates, especially in the US market.

That does seem upsetting, hopefully they won't leave the 7X on Nougat. If not, I'll leave for Motorola or maybe Xiaomi since I've heard they might step into the US market next year.

It's hard to say. Most manufacturers are launching multiple phone models each year and it's hard to predict which ones will attract developer support. The 7X may. It's still not been on the market for very long. Time will tell; if there is no developer interest exhibited in another 10 weeks or so, I wouldn't expect to see it at all.
hi
just ordered the US version.... dont know why they reduced the RAM by a GB for the model here ?
Looks like competition here is too much, so they had to drop the price to 200 hence the reduced GB.
yet... $150 USD additional for 1 GB RAM doesn't make sense at this time. (4GB 300€ vs 3GB 200$ )
My honor 5X sucks and is super slow with the set of apps I typically use, hopefully this solves the problem.
Now just hoping for Lineage 15.1 on this, hopefully soon.

[UPDATE] Honor 8X - Android Pie/ EMUI 9

I was in contact with Honor last week, EMUI 9 is scheduled for the second half of 2019. We have to wait ! (sorry for my bad english, i am french )
Your English is fine Mas8x - far better than my French! Yes, Huawei/Honor are really slow at releasing updates. I suppose it is due to them manufacturing a bewildering range of different handsets.
Jeez that is slow.
Damn!
I love this phone. However, I am starting to think I made a big mistake looking at honor phones.
2nd half of 2019 is too long.
Hello, moderators in the Indian Honor Club have repeatedly stated that Honor 8x will get Pie in the 1st week of April. They have also mentioned quite a few times that they will try to bring it even earlier.
@Mas8x your English is not at all bad. Also as Gyre8 mentioned, my French is far worse (Almost non-existence).
Lol try having a ZTE phone. You get whatever it released with, maybe a few software updates to the existing phone. So what if you aren't getting Pie immediately? Roll with Oreo till it updates and it'll update.
Relax, there are still phones which are getting Oreo as of now. So for a low-ranger like 8X, April is fair enough.
https://www.xda-developers.com/emui...se-for-honor-10-honor-play-and-honor-view-10/
Honor 10 and play, and view 10 are available to update now. Unfortunately, 8X still have to wait. But I think it will be soon after the global release.
Update started for few models. Few registering for beta now
Just FYI - received Android Pie via OTA update in Slovakia.

Beta ?
Nothing to indicate it's a Beta. Cannot attach a screenshot for some reason. Build number is 9.0.1.132.
Anybody know when the update is available in France ? Sorry for the English ^^
Beta is pretty stable, only thing that needs fixing so far is dual app support, so i'd soon. Probably in march.

Huawei Advices
GSM Arena
Look Here
Updated 9.0 several days ago which is so called public test version. It's disappointing cause no GMS included, and I can't find a working GMS installer for it. So, no Google play, no good. And several VPN apps don't work as well, it's very annoying as I'm in China. Wish someone can make a proper GMS installer for Android 9.
Anyone in the UK got the update to Pie yet on Honor 8X L21?

Android 10 before the end of the year

Does that mean we're getting it this year?
Article says no guarantee.

Take everything with a grain of salt. Mobile tech news when it comes to stuff like this is based on speculation from past trends. Two things to keep in mind, they will recycle the same stories every year because really it's about page visits and adrev. Not providing useful info. If anything they will be happy to come back and update because it means another visit.
The other part of that is that the software won't hit every region at the same time. So maybe someone gets it in December but then another region doesn't see it until Jan. Example being the bug in the beta that was locking people put of their devices. That delayed builds dropping in other regions until that was fixed.
I'm thinking more like January sometime maybe early February but again that is pure speculation. I believe it was January last year when Pie started rolling out to the flagships. I had the S9+ at the time.
I HIGHLY doubt the carriers will roll out this year. I would expect late Feb/Early Mar for US carriers. The betas haven't even hit them as of yet

The beta probably won't hit the carriers if the note 9 is any indication.
Considering the s10 beta came out Oct 14th and it's still on beta til now then I would doubt note 10 will be out of beta by the end of the year. Note 10 beta started Nov 13th for the US unlocked.
Beta is yet to start for N976B (European Note 10+ 5G)

not really entirely different bugs on our beta, January earliest

Stable final build should be ready-ish, if they release in January it's for the Christmas holidays or some unforseen bug
