Hello, I'm new to the world of android, and got interested to the world of custom roms. Recently I saw the Nougat rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/orig-development/rom-aosp-nougat-7-0-t3448481) which is I'm interested to flash it on my phone but ironically im afraid to do it because of doubts that it will brick my phone. I'm afraid because i don't know how to unbrick it. My question is, what are the prerequisites in order to flash the nougat rom i want?
At first you have to unlock your device bootloader. Guide. After unlcoking bootloader you will face bootloop. That is normal,Flash stock rom(Single Dualvia Flash fool to fix it(First boot will take more than 10 min). Then flash CWM or Philz recovery. Now download any rom for your device flash it via recovery. I suggest you to try MM roms. Naugat roms are in beta stage wait for stable versions.

Your post has many repeats - please clean it up.
Yes, when you RSD or flash a stock rom, you also change the recovery back to stock(unless you selectively do not). If you want TWRP, just flash it again.

Despite all the unnecessary repetations... You did go back to 7.0, not 7.1? Well, unless you flashed a version older than the stock version you where on when switching to custom ROM, just look if there is already a OTA. In fact there should be many. OTAs with unlocked bootloader aren't a problem as long as you don't change recovery, the only problem is flashing an older stock ROM than you had. Then you'll get an OTA too but that would brick your device
How do I keep everything about my phone stock, but stop getting the OTA updates? I love the Honor 7X how it is stock, so I don't want a custom rom, but I do want to root and install Magisk.
Is it possible to do these 3 things:
1. Keep stock EMUI 8.0.0
2. Root and install Magisk
3. Not get anymore OTA updates?
Thanks!
Hello everyone,
I've got a question. I have the Note 5 AI whyred. For some time I had the PixelExperience rom, so of course I have an unlocked bootloader. I had TWRP recovery. Now I'm back on MIUI 10 official global stable rom. I've flashed the stock recovery and everything is working fine so far. I wanted to ask, will I get OTA updates and are they going to install normally? Won't they brick my device or do something similar?
Thanks for your help in advance!
You'll get ota and will be installed normally only if you have stock recovery
