Hello,how to patch the bootloader?
I was told that we have dm-verity protection, how can we disable it?

If I were to unlock my bootloader, flash unmodified 8.1 dev preview and relock the bootloader, would I be able to pass safetynet? Or does unlocking the bootloader mean I'll permanently need to find workarounds no matter what I do afterwards?
Magisk rooting hides that. I can confirm that it works all the way up to November security patch. Look at the developer forum for more information.

Yes.
I have a related question. Is locking the bootloader even necessary? I thought having an unrooted rom on an unlocked bootloader phone passes safetynet?

Safetynet checks for Bootloader Status, unlocked doesn't pass.

Custom roms often make changes at the kernel level to block safetynet's ability to check the bootloader status, which makes it pass (for now). Magisk also hides bootloader unlock status from safetynet. So there are workarounds.
I got my device updated with L1 certification level. If I now unlock boot loader and root my device will it be affected as the change was made made in software to update it to L1 security level and unlocking boot loader and rooting will reset the phone?
Thank You
no...the answer is no
I am trying to relock my bootloader but, this z2 play had Oreo update in August and a security patch later than that. None of the firmware shared on this forum allows bootloader to be locked, it always fails saying downgrade of security.
Does this mean anyone on latest security updates cannot lock bootloader? If there are no firmware to avoid security downgrade, we are stuck with unlocked?
The latest firmware I can find is OPS27.76-12-25. This is April security patch. Before I unlocked this device, it received a security patch after the Oreo update which was probably the one above.
Can we downgrade security level in order to lock bootloader with April firmware?

Hi there.. yesterday our device got android pie update.
So i was thinking is there any way to revert back to oreo
With security patch before august..so that we can unlock the
Bootloader.
I have seen nokia 7+ has an option to revert back to oreo with april security patch and so they can unlock the bootloader.
Can we do the same for our device??
Hi guys,
I have an AT&T G8, network unlocked, and running the July 2020 Patch (G820UM20r). My question is: Is it possible to unlock its bootloader without having to brick it? My goal is to crossflash it in order to get recent updates, etc.
Additionally, after crossflash, can the boot loader be relocked to get DRM widevine level L1 ?
