I am from Italy, firmware B123. I have a problem with the notification led: when the screen is off, it doesn't blink when messages comes from Whatsapp groups. I installed Light Manager but it does not solved the problem.
Please reply if you have some suggest. Thank you.

Are you sure?
My hangouts/IM has a really subdued colour when it flashes. I have to be looking straight down to see the light blink

Yes, I am sure. It's very low, but I can see the light blinking when sms arrives, but not in case of WA group messages. It flashes only in case of single contact message.
I'm very annoyed ...

sorry my ing., but i have a prob with my notification LED's.
i dont no what i do but i only have the red led notification, when i plug de AC power to charge.
the outher LED's dont do anything.
there is anithing to resolve this???

What other LED's? There is only 1 led. It is red when charging or green when fully charged. Or green blinking for mail or sms or missed call. The little plastic on the other side is your light sensor.

Hello
I found the solution to my problem.
after seeing what went wrong and where. I came to the conclusion that for some reason I got the option: flash light for ... = Disable.
all you had to do was go to:
- Settings
- Sounds and notifications
- Notifications
- Event (events with an option for flash light, put enable)

This was already set at my TP2.
But when charging, it doesn't start to blink, it stays burning.

Now I have the LED notifications working.
It was enough, but in your case, I think, only just by changing a key in the registry or with a hard reset to see if everything returns to normal.
Indeed. the led charging is prior to led notification. So no notification when charging. Maybe someone knows a reghack for this?
Any hack to change the LED settings?
example:
blinking green to indicate signal coverage
blinking amber for missed calls, message etc.
Pretty useful if we're in a rural area and need to quickly see if we have coverage or not without turning the phone on.

Did anyone find a solution for this problem? My TP2 has no notification LED when it's charging.
It's driving me crazy. I never know if I have Email until I unplug the TP2. My Treo blinked like mad, plugged in or not.
Hey, I noticed the same LED light on the front of the phone work to indicate charging and charging status.
Does the other one work? And in what cases? ...we don't have the option to blink/flash light for reminders or anything in the "Sounds and Notification" options.
I installed BsB Tweaks, which lets me turn on a led for when I have new messages, email, missed call. The same led as when charging lights up. it flashes green. However, this option doesn't work when charging, the led stays orange, indicating charging.
I found a CAB that seams like it adds a patch to enable the boxes for "Flash Light" and "Display Image on Screen" for E-mail, Text, Voice Mail, and Missed Calls in the Sounds and Notification settings.

Note: If you are also using BsB Tweaks, the Led notifications for these have to be turned on there also.
Finally, text Messages have the old look of appearing on screen too, enstead of just the symbol in the Title Bar. Sure helps so I don't have to go Title Bar>then text message in notifications...before I can read or respond to a text right away....just a personal preference i guess.

If you mean to the right of the speaker, it's not an LED, but a light sensor.
thats right, it looks like 2nd led. i miss old led system (kaiser and older htcs)

When I receive an email on my Desire Z, the LED indicator (same one that glows orange when charging and green when full) will blink orange to notify that an email has been received. However, when I receive an SMS, the LED indicator does not blink, and only the little rim surrounding the trackpad will glow every 10 seconds or so.
Is there any way to get the LED indicator to blink when I receive an SMS the same way it does when an email is received?

I've the same problem too... seems to be a default SMS application bug
Try GO SMS or Handcent SMS, both made notification led work for me...
Have you tried using "led me know"? You can get it for free in the market.

Missed Call is another free app on the Market, which lets you customize the LED notifications, like LED Me Know.
Chomp SMS is another SMS client (my personal choice) that is pretty nice, that also makes the LED blink when a message comes in.

I have Go SMS Pro installed and it doesn't work for me while a few days ago it actually worked with a nice bright blue led when I got a new text mesage. I already tried to disable, reboot and re-enable the led-notification, and also disabling the main settings of led blinking (for all different kinds of notification but it doesn't work.
Anyone who has a solution for this?

I would like to know how can I set up notifications LED like I used to have when I had android 2.3.x.
Which means:
new SMS => constant blue led (used handcent to do that, now it doesn't work)
missed call => blinking magenta led
etc
Is there any way to succeed in doing this?
If there was some source I could read about the led notifications, please direct me to them.

Yes. A singular color on the left bottom.

it's white nothing else.
So even if you install some extra software it will still be only white.

I see no options in android one for this I know when I receive whatsapp message it lights up white

Maybe you can find some Xposed Module for custom LED...
That is sad my older phones at least have yellow red and green
It is even configurable via third party apps or like I am using custom roms
Any way it doesn't bother me if its blinking smoothly or at least just blink it not a sloppy 3 step transition
Have a look at the Light Flow app. Unfortunately changing the blinking speed doesn't work but at least it's possible to define the apps whose notifications are switching the LED on.
Sorry it seems there is much confusion around about the (white only) notification led. I'm still reading people stating that the led just lights up for showing that phone is charging, and do NOT lights up for notifications like missed calls, pending incoming messages and other usaual android notifications.
May you please confirm that indeed it DO lights up for android notifications and not only when charging? Thanks
One more thing: if it lights for notificatins but it also lights pemanently while charging, how do you distinguish notifications while charging?
It blinks for notifications and is permanently on while charging. Not sure what happens with notifications while charging as I only do it over night every 2-3 days. Never had any problems with the LED by the way.

If any wonders exactly.
Made some test.
White led only, off, blinks slowly or always on.
When a notification is received and screen goes off it blinks slowly.
When is charging led is always on but if screen is off and a notification is received it blinks.
When battery saver is on it blinks slowly, if a notification is received it blinks anyway the same way.
I only tested text notification, and I am using Textra, not Android message.

I found the app " light flow" just after reading this page : it enables to manage the led, : which event (battery full/ WhatsApp/messages...) will make the led blink or stay still, obviously no colour management for this phone and unfortunately no possibility to manage blink speed.
