Hi to all,
I would like to ask you if the Moto Z2 Play does support the EU Galileo Positioning System (stock rom, or mod roms). Thank you in advance.
No, it doesn't support it and it will never be supported officially by motorola. I've already asked in their official forum. We can only hope in custom roms, although it is very difficult that will be enabled.

Is there any rom or gsi rom that supports volte in this device?
I am also interested in volte on this device. Can anyone tell me if there is a working ROM that supports volte?
only reason I have not plunged into custom ROM's so far is that exact reason - I can not find a VOLTE enabled custom ROM. I wish I still had time to code but now in life I have to wait. I am lucky though to have the unlock code for my Mate SE - but..... I am pretty sure their relocking of the bootloader had pretty much killed development. I would love to be incorrect.....
There are no custom roms which support volte.
Hi all, im tempted to buy this XZ2 Compact as a secondary phone (LG V30 as main)
but i just got a couple questions befor im buying it:
Is this device part of the official Treble-Project devices? (so no need to make vendor partition myself etc etc..)
can i unlock bootloader on pie (if it already has official pie)? (dont really care for DRM as im not a camera person.)
if the above bootloader question is false answer; can i unlock bootloader on oreo then upgrade to pie? (to update vendor partition for pie GSI's (if treble supported)
Thanks in advance.

this is a A/B device, so yes it has treble, don't know if official or not, but I think it is a regular treble-phone
PIE is official, but you can't officially unlock on PIE at the moment, so you have to unlock while running oreo, then update to pie

Hi! I'm curious: Have you or has anyone else tried a GSI on the XZ2 Compact? On this Github page (1) it says the camera isn't working at all. Can anyone confirm or deny? I'm interested in getting the phone, but wouldn't if the camera doesn't work with GSIs.

Sorry, can't post links yet.
I have not tested a GSI, but as far as i can say, it depends on the aosp source from Sony devs.
And afaik the Sony devs pushing updates for the camera to their aosp code, which hopefully lead into a working cam in the next few releases.
But i think @MartinX3 is the more experienced guy related to this topic.

I never feel experienced enough :silly:
As far ass i know, only the sony aosp works with the Q GSI, because Q needs a new treble level.
It splits the sepolicy.
The sony aosp & its OEMv7 blobs are compatible with it.
I am not sure if the PIE stock rom has it.
But I think they will only implement it with stock Q in combination with a Q bootloader.

As to Treble, yes, the XZ2C supports Treble. https://thedroidguru.com/list-project-treble-supported-android-devices/
The bootloader is supposedly unlockable (and Sony's dev site provides for it), although I cannot comment on the consequences of doing so, such as the DRM issues with the camera.
Hello to everyone,
Maybe too soon to discuss this but, there may be some kind of port from miui12 to mi5 / mi5s in near future? Anyone know anything about it?
I think this hardware can support easier, it remains to know if whether at the SW level it is possible or not!?
Many thanks.
Mi5 will get unofficial Miui12 rom from a small group of devs this week. Once they had rom for mi5s as well but they dropped support a while ago. Rom thread here is closed because they didn't mention kernel source as I saw when I checked last time but it's not the reason for dropping support. Rom name is miuitr, they have a website now just Google it but no capricorn support as I mentioned, only gemini. This phone has so much potential with the hardware but unfortunately there are no devs supporting it, at least I wish there would be an updated gsi mod so we could get miui12 though gsi but gsi mod also not getting any update for 2 years. It's time for upgrade like they want(force) us to.
eny update?
I am looking to buy a new phone. My options right now are Redmi Note 10 pro and Moto G60
I want a stock android phone but am also looking at installing custom ROMs after the warranty date. Redmi Note 10 pro has extensive ROM support. So, once the kernel source code for this phone is released how good do you think the ROM development for tis will be?
I don't know the technical terms
I am new to this stuff
A dev said
Moto devices under sm6150, already have great rom development
Moto g40 and g60 also come under the same
So, 50%of the rom work is already done
Developers only need to tweak some settings here and there and release the rom
But as of now, HANOIP is facing Bootloader unlock issue, Moto said they are gonna fix it soon via an update
So, we can easily expect development but a little later, cause moto community is very small
Btw LIBER has already received A11 official P.E
I asked one of the developers. They said it might be slow coz this phone already runs on stock android
Yeah, it runs a stable A11 out of the box
So we don't need A11 custom rom
And It would receive A12 as well
So, we are saved for 2 years
Even if the development is slow
We can adjust as we have options ,unlike other meme devices
Does anyone know the status of Custom ROMs on this device. Is anyone working on any?
Xiaomi eu says is not going to make a rom for this device.
No news about aosp roms as far as I know.
It's a pity, but by now it doesn't seem there is development going on with this tab.
Our first priority before custom roms is TWRP. or maybe porting it straight from Poco x3 Pro since it got the same SD 860 Chip
forget it it's gonna rely only on Xiaomi's mercy for updates
