My friend has a Samsung Galaxy Fame and he wanna root it. I couldn't find any root method for that phone. Anyone know any solution?
I donĀ“t own this device, but maybe i will buy it tomorrow. And I found a firmware upgrade that should be a rooted rom (written under the point "Important note:").
Here is the link: http://thedroidcity.com/galaxy-fame-s6810p-upgrade-to-xxamaa-android-4-1-2-official-firmware/
Please tell me if this can help you !
I had success rooting the fame with "Motochopper" (sorry not able to link to it, but a search on this forum will find it) it's a Samsung G4 exploit but it is the only one I've also found works on the fame and I've tried quite a few

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 SM-A720F-DS (dual sim) bought on ebay and it have a Taiwan rom version (I live in France, use French mobile networks, my phone is international). Android 8.0 A720FZTU3CRD4. I have searched a tutorial for root and it's seems very difficult to find a rooting method. a website say : A rooting method A720FZTU3CRD4 Android 8.0.0 Oreo firmware for Galaxy A7 2017 SM-A720F not available yet (https://trueandroid.com).
Is there a way to root my device ?
I seen this tutorial, will it work for my device or brick ? (https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa...ot-cwm-recovery-galaxy-a7-2017-model-t3552157)
I'm afraid about brick
Thank you for advance

Hello, thank you for your reply.
I don't understand. Can you expand your reply ? TWRP recovery can be installed on any device without bricking it ? Or we need a different version edited for one device model ?
I am new on this forum. Can you give me a link for a TWRP that can be installed on my device ?
Thank you

Q: Why do i need to format data partition?
A: Because old rom encrypted your data partition and new rom can't decrypt and use that content / root needs access to data partition to place misc files / phone not booting after flashing root until data partition gets formatted.
Q: Why not formatting data at twrp install?
A: Phone will boot even if data is encrypted if you don't root. Also system partition is not encrypted meaning you can flash RMM-State_Bypass anyway.

Hello,
I'm glad to see that this thread helped someone, even years after
Recently, I installed lineage OS (with Android 11) on this phone to give it a second life.
Because I wish Samsung would have provided OS updates for longer time.
Enjoy the root, and have a good day
