Flashing Steps:
NOTE: You MUST decrypt to flash this custom ROM! This may change in the future, but is required for now!
NOTE: You should also make sure you are on one of the most recent firmware versions shipping with your device. I'll try to provide specific information as needed, and occasional flashable firmware files too.
Coming from another rom
NOTE: If you are coming from OOS, you need to FORMAT your /data partition. This is where TWRP asks you to type "yes" to proceed, and is where you will delete all your personal files on your phone. So, BACK THEM UP!
(As an alternate method, you can put the device in fastboot, and use "fastboot format userdata")
1) Download Candy8.zip (See Post #2)
2) Download Oreo Gapps (optional - See Post #2))
3) Boot into recovery (TWRP)
4) Full wipe (Dalvik Cache, Cache, System, Factory Data Reset)
5) Flash Candy8.zip
6) Flash Gapps

IMPORTANT - PROBLEMS/ISSUES:
If you have issues, you need to provide both of the following:
Logs from you (logcat, last_kmsg, dmesg) linked to on pastebin.com or hasteb.in, showing the failure.
A clear description of the steps that I need to take to exactly reproduce the problem.
Please DO NOT complain about problems and offer nothing to help fix it. I reserve the right to ignore you for not following insructions...

NOTE: You need to use GApps that are compatible with your Android version (8.0, 8.1,etc.) and platform (ARM, ARM64, etc.).
Open GApps (Smallest ARM package is recommended)
RECOVERY
TWRP v3.2.1.0 or newer
FIRMWARE - FLASHABLE
It is expected that you are on the last released firmware for bacon.
You can find a thread with them all here.
Then just wipe system, data and cache and flash Candy8.

FAQ
You may find that you have apps FCing after a dirty flash or nandroid restore. Such apps may include Email apps, and other apps that use WebView. AOSP includes their WebView, but it is pretty outdated. If you experience these FCs, and clearing data or even REINSTALLING an app does not fix it, take a look at the version of webview selected in Settings > System > Developer options > WebView implementation, and choose the newest one, in this case, Chrome stable:

Depending on the version of GApps you have installed, you may remove/replace included apps (like Dialer, Calendar) without knowing it. For this reason it's suggested to use the smallest GApps package possible that gives you Play Services functionality.
What's not working:

It's up now... and not 100% in my book. So take it for a spin and let me know (with logs of failures) what is not working.

Is there no hardware button settings there yet? Everything else works pretty smooth rom will give battery updates in 2-3 cycles.

Thanks for the amazing work. Everything is working great except WiFi Hotspot. Connected, no internet. Any thoughts?

Would you recommend the official OpenGapps 8.0, or the unofficial OpenGapps 8.1?
I'm aware that it links to the 8.0 but this ROM is 8.1 so i'm a bit confused.

I used the unofficial OpenGapps 8.1 Nano from the General section of the forum without issue.

-Use footej as camera. Aug patch mad camera unstable
-Magisk not directly installable.
Follow below steps
1. Take boot image backup from twrp.
2. Reboot to system.
3. Install magisk apk
4. Internet connection on and run magisk app
5. Click install->patch boot file. (Use whick backed up and patch)
6. Magisk will create patched_boot.img in internal magisk manager folder.
7 install this boot file from twrp

Thanks on the guide sir. But brightness is not working for me at all. I've checked in the Display settings and it just shows it at 50% no matter how I try to adjust it. No idea if anyone else is facing this issue.

Me too I can't adjust the brightness.

Aug patch disturbed many working things.
I.e. hotspot & asus camera.
Both issue not in jul patch which made by Suhail Malik.

What about the notification LED?? Does it works (change of led color on battery status)?
And plz add an option to set separate tone for dual sim .

The screen configuration does not work for me, has anyone else had this problem? Click on it, the screen will blink and return to the menu. Fix it, please, the rom is very good.

Does anyone got stuck on boot animation ..... I tried to flash but got stuck on a never ending boot animation ... I force reboot but it doesn't work.... Tried to clear cache and again restarted but nothing helped.... Hoping for some help

Encryption fixed? Don't want to lose my internal storage data.

just flash this rom an hour ago. quite stable and fluid. pubg mobile working at smooth HDR with all highest setup, games run smooth and no FC.
Others, my telco never support Zuk z2 ,and no way to bypass the checking like poco f1, so i didn't put in sim card for testing.

not sure is fornite mobile issue or android 10 issue, now in the graphics setup only have low for me to select.
third update,
some times when swipe back to task switcher ,the thumbnail of the app will just show a blank grey or white, and this overlay will not disappear , which means i can see the task switcher and the home screen at the same time.
the second bug is the edge gesture will disappear after we enter the setting page.

i had use AEX 7 , PE 10 and evolution, so far evolution is my top choice, less bug.

Rom looks promising. Would love to see official update but anyway ur studies are important. Just a question, does maintaining official need more work?

Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Yeah Anx 164 working well.
Everything seems to be fine except for:
1 com.phone.process fc's sometimes
2 Scrolling everywhere is very choppy which surprisingly gets rectified if you disable hardware overlays in developer settings

The first issue should be fixed in the next version, and I will delete gapps.I don't understand the second question

Scroll slowly in Google feed or app drawer and you will see micro stutters while scrolling.
Otherwise it's a good job

Good to see another rom for Dipper. If possible @ALKALiKong please use AFH for download

The best stable rom in PIE (9).

I had a long discussion with another developer last night.The result is that both me and him will be the official maintainer of derpfest.
But from the next version, he will compile derpfest with gapps, but mine won't.
btw he will also update derpfest Q this week.thank you for understanding

So is the rom gonna have a OTA updates?
And please be ceraful Whit the kernel that you merge the rom. For a example the kernel is havoc pie have problems that drop you in the apps. I believe that bad the simple kernel that they use.

I think you can flash the custom kernel after flashing the ROM.I used the pixel experience kernel instead of other custom kernels because most custom kernels use some specific things to build, and when I try to build he will give an error

There are several updates but i didn't check because there is no new post in this thread and also goes official and that's awesome.
P.S. You can post change log if any to bump the thread on top.

This is my favourite custom rom I'm currently using and unable to make video (bug) is only thing which is bugging me In it.

Test this DerpFest-11-Community-Beta-DRG_sprout-20210311-0612 build

Nicely working.
Now only thing I want is Google Play certification.
As I can't use any banking app.
And can't use it as my daily driver.

Also microphone is not working.
Can't make calls

This is nice stable rom, lot of customizations compare other android 11 custom roms. Three mode Notch Handler (display cut out) is missing but it's available in android 10 derpfest. In recent build mic is not working during call.
