Can this be done without an unlock code from T-Mobile? Also, since the SoC in the phone supports LTE is there any way to get LTE working using the Tmo variant on AT&T? I'm curious because I got at TMo version for free but am under contract on a 5 line family plan on AT&T and want to use this phone instead of my current Lumia 900. I used to have Android for a long time and have rooted, flashed roms, etc. without issue, so I am comfortable doing that with my GSIII to get the most out of it on AT&T.
You can unlock for free. Go through few threads down . There is a thread and way to unlock.
You cant get 4g Lte on T999 from att becoz they have different Mzs I guess .

Can anyone confirm that the international Find 7 will work with UK Vodafone's 4G? I'm pretty sure they use band 20 but if anyone knows better please let me know.

Just to confirm, I got my Find 7 and yes, it works perfectly on Vodafone's UK 4G network!
Can anyone confirm whether the find 7a int version (X0006 i presume) works with Airtel's 4G in India ?
Airtel uses TD-LTE Band 40 2300 Mhz currently.
I purchased the f400s at launch for use with AT&T but now that the US variants have arrived I'd like to know if there is any benefit to switch. Can someone please list the technical differences especially regarding radio bands.
Thanks!
No benefit at all.

The att one supports 1700 band. But they hardly ever use that band.

Can you elaborate? And the f400S supports band 17 as well.
I'm a AT&T subscriber however I want a unlocked device since I travel to other countries. I've looked into LG G3 D855 (European version) unlocked but many people report that although it shows the frequencies used by AT&T, still it doesn't allow 4G LTE on any US carrier.
I do not want to buy LG G3 D850(AT&T version) since i won't be able to use it back home. I'm not sure what the LG G3 F400 version is.
Please help this is really confusing, I've tried contacting both LG and AT&T but they don't seem to have much information on this.
Thank you!

It seems like Pakistan uses 1800mhz for the LTE. In terms of At&t and Europeans G3, they don't have the same LTE bands.
At&t does NOT use 1800 only the European one has it.
So since Pakistan uses the same bands as the Europe, then you'll have to pick which between having LTE in the U.S. or LTE in Pakistan.
Both phones will work for 3g though.
Hope that helps!

I'm not concerned about LTE in Pakistan since as of now Pakistan doesn't have LTE networks setup . Also LTE in US is important for me. In Pakistan I only want to be able to use my phone i.e call/text.
I have two more questions:
1. Would I be able to use an AT&T device with Pakistani/European carriers without unlocking it, if I buy them without contract.
2. Can I use the korean G3 (f400) for ATT LTE? I've read it somewhere that some people have got it working but I want to be sure.

Since you not concerned with LTE in Pakistan, that makes it a little easier.
1. You can buy an At&t phone and get it unlocked. If you buy it outright (full cost), at&t might provide you with the unlock code, I'm not positive about that.
If you are still on a contracted type plan and you buy it subsidized with a 2 year contract then you can also just buy an unlock code for $3 and get it unlocked. I'm not affiliated with this website but I have seen others use it (www(dot)gsmzambia(dot)com/) and has success. I personally used cellunlocker and it took 24 hours to get my code and was about $8. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2780536&page=2)
2. Yes you can use a Korean G3 as it has the correct LTE bands and will works for At&t LTE.
This is only if you're interested in Roms/Modding/Qi Wireless charging
If you plan on buying your phone outright from at&t, I would highly recommend getting a t-mobile phone if you like to flash roms, use QI wireless charging. T-mobile has their bootloader unlocked so its more rom friendly. Also it uses the Qi-wireless standard vs PMA which is much more widely used than At&t's PMA (powermat)
T-mobiles phone works for At&t and has all the bands except for band 5 which at&t isn't using.

Was everything hassle-free, like making calls, or getting good signals?
I've searched on amazon and this is what I found:

What about the bloatware and the Korean language. I really hate bloatware!
Also please can you link me the site where you bought it from and also check the F400 version on amazon and let me know if that is the correct one.

90% of the bloatware is uninstallable. The Korean language on the dialer, and in the theming app is what made me get rid of it for the att version. I also didn't like how it handled USA phone numbers via text messages. It always sent and received duplicate text messages

I bought the ATT version and I love it so far! However my only issue is the charging time on this beast. It takes a lot of time to charge, especially if I'm gaming on the device while it charges.
Hi guys,
(I tried searching this and so far no answers)
I want to buy an unlocked Zenfone 2 ZE551ML.
In the US, the price is nice at $299 (for the 64GB). In Japan it's over $500 (OK, with the exchange rate it's a little less, but...).
(Sorry, the site is preventing me from including external links)
http colon //goo dot gl/ss7hV8
The problem I am having is finding out if it's truly compatible with Japanese and US carriers. I would like to take this thing back and forth.
The frequencies look right, but on all the AusTek documentation is says (JP Version) near the 4G FDD-LTE frequencies. Do the major carriers in Japan use some variant of FDD-LTE that is different from the US? Or is this only a marketing strategy?
The only difference I have seen in the past on Japanese phones is that here they always come with a TV Antennae built in for Digital Japanese TV and the freakin' Carrier charges a monthly fee for the TV app! Haha
Here's the information from Asus Japan (open it in Chrome and it will translate the Japanese for you, albeit badly):
http colon //goo dot gl/3zo5E3
Decent worldwide Frequency list:
http colon //goo dot gl/EuOKoy
Anyone try this out between the US and Japan?
Thanks in advance.
The US version is the WW version with one more band available (Band 12 I think which is used by AT&T in the US). Weird that the US version has more Bands than the World Wide version. So if the WW version works in Japan, the the US version will as well.
Thank you for your quick response!
I just really want to make sure that there aren't different versions of FDD-LTE frequencies. Some kind of encoding that's different or something. The thing that keeps throwing me is that on all the specification lists from Asus for the Japanese versions it says "(JP Version)" next to FDD-LTE.
From the Asustek Japan website:
2G :
EDGE/GSM :
850/900/1800/1900,
3G :W-CDMA 800(6)/850(5)/900(8)/1900(2) /2100(1)MHz
4G :
FDD-LTE: (JP version)
2100MHz(1)/1900MHz(2)/1800MHz(3)/1700/2100MHz(4)/850MHz(5)/800MHz(6)/900MHz(8)/1700MHz(9)/800MHz(18)/800MHz(19)/700MHz(28)
---------- Post added at 07:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:18 PM ----------
I also looked on the wiki article of LTE bands and I don't see any special notes for LTE in Japan so it's probably fine.

If it's any help, I am using in Japan using a ww ZE550ML bought from Expansys. I use it with an OCN sim (so it's on the docomo network). It works fine as it has the main docomo LTE band (band 1). The only problem is there are a few signal blackspots where it would be better with the so-called "platinum band" (I forget which band, but it is one my phone doesn't have).
I think I will try it out. I spend a most of my time in Tokyo and only some time in Kyoto and Nagano.
I made a spreadsheet of the carriers and different phone variants. The only LTE bands the Japanese variant has that the WW version does not are:
Docomo uses band 19
Softbank uses band 8
But the rest overlap.
For 3G W-CDMA both phones have 2100 so it should work fine.
Thanks for your input
Yeah, it has 3G 2100 but not 800, so 3G can also be a bit patchy. Not having LTE 19 is mostly only a problem inside big concrete buildings. On docomo LTE Band 1 2100 is the main band so mostly you'll be fine. Highly recommend OCN Mobile One as a carrier - dirt cheap, really flexible, solid service (NTT group, so seems like docomo don't screw them over).
