Desire 816 display replacement - Desire 816 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a broken display on HTC desire 816. It's a complete touchscreen with display. The touch screen is not working properly after replacing the diplay. It detects the touch but it is virtually impossible to get through the PIN code of the phone. It is basically inapplicable.
Is it possible that the connector is not fully inserted or would the phone not respond to the touch?
Or is it still necessary to calibrate the display after it is changed?
Thank you for the answers.

Separating Digitizer & Display

Hi,
My problem: Two months ago, the display of my Alpine (HTC 2020i) crashed (not the digitzer). I bought a new display from china for 80$.
This worked for about 2 weeks, then, suddenly the background-light did not work any more. While trying to reopen the device (for checking the connectors) the digitizer broke and the phone is almost unuseable.
My idea would be to separate the digitizer (which should work) from my old display and replace the broken digitizer with the old one.
Will this work? How to separate the two things? Is it possible without breaking it?
Another solution would be: http://cgi.ebay.at/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330134835906
But there I've the same problem: How to change the digitizer?
Any hints are much appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,

digitizer and display
it will work only if u will manage to put the digitizer correctly without distrubing the gas pattern on it recently my digitizer stop working so i sreviced it from a repairing center but i m not setisfied at all as i have to re align the screen twice or more in a day. so be careful while changing the digitzer do not press it too hard and check the youtube for the videos for how to change the digitizer they help u.
It is easy to replace the digitizer than the display. In this case one would have to b accurate to pull out the digitizer. There are 98% chance that it will fail, when remove digitizer from a broken display. My experience of fixing 100s of digitizers in various phones..including Palm and Athena

[Q] Screen Replacement Issue. Advice needed please

Hi there,
I have my friends HTC 8S which needed a screen replacement. Which I volunteered to fix as I have previously successfully replaced the screen on my old HTC One X. However, after following all the steps that I researched, an issue arose where I would part assemble the phone (all cables on the motherboard connected, battery connected) to check if the screen would work and there was nothing, I tried a soft reset to see if that would work, which it didn't. I assembled the phone fully to see if it was maybe a loose connection so if I button it all up tight then the connection will be made but that failed also, I even tried the old screen again, that wouldn't work either! So a faulty screen & digitiser is out of the question.
I was very careful when replacing the screen & to my knowledge I have broken nothing. The phone does receive calls, the buttons do work including the light sensors for the home screen etc.
So I'm pretty stuck & feeling bad as my friend is without a phone. So any help or advice will be welcome
Thanks

[Q] HTC Desire 816 touchscreen not working

I dropped my HTC Desire 816 twice today accidentally and the screen smashed.
The phone works fine but the touchscreen won't work. I have tried restarting the phone multiple times and everything.
Is there anything I can do to make the screen work (like maybe something has moved on the inside) or is the crack the issue and therefore I need to get it replaced? I'm fine having a smashed screen as long as the actual phone works.
Thanks!

I assume it's issue with digitizer, Try replace digitizer and your device should good to go. And use bumper or avoid drop!
Should be like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Touch-Scree...e_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3ce450fa46
Find one for yourself and get replace it. Or head over to htc service center to get things done.

AT&T Model After screen replacement (Genuine part) Touch screen is unrepsonsive

After replacing the touch screen on the phone, I go to boot it up and the phones touchscreen is completely unresponsive. The display does turn on and show my lock screen, it just doesn't respond to any touch. I have confirmed all cables are plugged in nice and snuggly, just wondering if I may have missed something or if there is a common issue with this happening. Id appreciate any info anyone can provide.

hai, happy for your performance. it is not easy to set a m8 after disassemble. it needs more patience and tools. are you a technician?
what is the reason for changing it? (broken but it work, not broken and not work)
1) i think, there may be a factory fault in touch that you bought.
2) check +B in touch. (be careful. if you are a technician only)
good luck.
