Call ended as soon as it starts to dial - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

As soon as it starts to dial a number it says call ended. If I turn airplane mode on and off, it fixes it for a little while. The only thing I changed recently is take trip out of the country recently and I had a sim card in from another carrier for a little while. When I got home I put the TMobile sim back in, rebooted, and that's it.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Try reflashing the T-Mobile home csc file and wipe cache in recovery and see if that helps. If you flash the regular CSC file it will wipe all your data.

This is not a rooted phone. Everything on it is stock - also not a branded phone, it's unlocked from samsung

Unfortunately I'm at a loss. I'm sure you tried wiping cache in recovery.

Samsung i780 keep rebooting

I have got a new Samsung i780 from HongKong. It is brand new and is unlocked. When i put the sim and start, it starts normally first time and then when it reaches where it starts to search network, it shuts down and restarts. It keeps on happening. So i cant use the phone at all. This is what i did
1. I hard resetted the phone ---> Same problem.
2. I disabled the phone (flight mode) --> it works normally like a PDA
3. I have flashed the italian ROM (Complete) ---> it fails at 58%
PHONE-Waiting for erasing CODE area...
PHONE-Erasing CODE area complete...
PHONE-Writing failed at 58.
4. I loaded the phone part of PDXHL2 ROM - still keeps the loop of restart. what the heck i am clueless.
4. As its working normally when its in flight mode, i think its a radio issue. But not sure whether its hardware or software. Please help. I am very disapointed. By the way i am using this phone in MEXICO with a telcel SIM. for the 10 secs its showing the todays menu, i can see it has recognized the network and give full signal. But loop of rebooting continues. Please help.
Update to the problem
All. Additionally i tried putting the Russian ROM (Phone part). Now there is this new problem. The loop restart has stopped. Phone shows complete signal. But i am not receiving any call nor being able to make call. If i try making a call, nothing happens. i mean it keeps displaying dialing.... i cant even disconnect the call (anyway the call does not go through. Please help.

[Q] HTC Desire Z constantly restarts

Hi, i have a problem with my phone i could not find any solution online.
Two days ago the phone was in my pocket in sleep mode. I took it out and it was closed, no button was responding, i took the battery out, put it back again and started it. It asked for the pin code, i entered then it said "unlocking sim card" then the phone restarted.
From that moment it constantly restarts, regardless of me entering pin code or not, it restarts. I use stock firmware and i didn't do any overclocking or any modifications to the phone.
I tried the boot screen (the one which is entered by pushing yolume down+power button) I did factory reset from that screen, it didn't help. I put the phone in recovery mode and a screen appears and nothing happens, i think it is like a dfu mode in iphone, i don't know how to use it. In the boot screen a green text screen appears for a second says "PC101img.zip is missing" or something like that.
Do i have to load the rom again to this phone? If so how can i do that?
Any help will be appreciated.
Hey,
i've never heard of this issue on any phone.
So you coulds just try to do a few things.
First you could try to flash a new radio ROM.
just see the android developement section and the radio thread.
the radio doesnt change the actual rom on your device so yiou wouldnt loos your data.
it might help it might not, as we dont know what the reason for the issue ist.
when does it reboot? when you enter the sim code?
try a different sim card, just to see if it still happens and/or try to remove the sim passcode.
this might help and might help to see where the issue is...

Thanks for the answer. I didn't try different sim card but i tried to start the phone without the sim card and the sd card. It didn't change anything, it still restarts after few seconds.

I don't see how a new radio would affect the phones sim card...
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA Premium App
The problem seems to be with the sim card. I changed the sim card of the phone and it didn't restart from that moment. I used vodafone sim card with the phone for a week and after a week sim card started restarting the phone.
Is there a known cause of vodafone sim cards doing this?
Re: Constantly reboot...
the same issue does happen on mine! Stock firmware, never rooted, however, I've tried using different SIM cards and removed SD card, the same situation still exists. Reboot and reboot... please help!

Yeah, and randomly suggesting to flash new radios for a problem this person never heard of before is not great advice. Bricking the phone is possible when radio flashing, and should be approached with caution, and only done when there is a radio-specific issue.

[Q] airplane modus problems

Hello,
I have a HTC ONE X HTC_E11
Bootloader 1.72.0000
baseband 5.1204.167.31
version main:4.18.401.2
PJ4610000
It's rooted and I have Viper ROM installed.
Everything worked fine for a long time until yesterday my phone turned off.
When I put it back on, it didn't ask my sim PIN code and I have no network connection.
When I go to settings I see that the airplane modus is shutting down but it keeps doing that.
When I check the info of my network provider and Imei etc it shows : unknown...
My sim works perfect in my girlfriends phone
I already did a factory reset I did my nandroid backup but still the same.
I also flashed some other roms like AR and Skydragon.
What else can I do? Pls can someone help me out here?
Thanks alot!

well, if you didn't drop the phone, maybe there is some dust on the sim contacts... shut it down, pull the sim out and clean with some compressed air both the slot and the sim; plug the sim again and boot the phone... if it doesn't work, maybe it's a failure of phone/sim (discover it by trying the sim into another phone or ask for a sim change) if still doesn't work maybe the phone broke down...

I already mentioned in my post that I've tried to put the sim in my girlfriends phone and it works just fine.
Didn't drop the phone either...
It has to do something with the radio I guess.
It keeps displaying that it is shutting down the airplane mode.
And in the setting, every option that has something to do with my telephone network is grey, I can't select any of the options
Did you reflash the boot.img a couple of times ? If all roms fail and you don't get an imei to show anywhere it's off to a shop/HTC

Maybe my phone is broken? I have flashed other roms, kernels,radio's...
I restored several backups, even from a year ago...
Should I look for a new phone? ?

so i think it's broken... anyway i hope i'm wrong and someone can help you more than me
As i said.....you need HTC or a repair shop unfortunately. You need to flash parts of the phone that we can't reach, certainly not without s-off and even then writing an imei is still illegal.

reflashed factory roms through odin
factory reset

The device comes with a 1yr warranty which VZW should honor and give you a replacement device(probably a refurb) or you can send it off to Samsung to have it repaired for free as long as there is not physical or liquid damage.http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request
thanks I will try your advice but im stumped as far as what exactly happened what does the *#9090#
options do I guess i should have not messed around with the hidden menu. Also is there a way to reset any changes that were made in that menu. How do you get that phone in diag mode anyway so I do not mess up my next phone . thank you for your fast responses

I'm not sure exactly what this mode does for the Note 4 since I thought it was locked out for VZW users but other phones i've had it would allow things like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=78&v=E4ygW-7Ajf0.

Phone always crashing, even on stock firmware?

Hello all,
This is just the continuation of my last post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/help/s4-acting-buggy-using-roms-t3306395
I was recommended to use Odin to flash the original 4.4.4 firmware, so I did just that and my phone worked for a few hours. But then, it would freeze again and force reboot. Then it would get stuck in bootloop and I would have to take the battery out to reset it. When this finally loaded, I wouldn't get any service and told me to insert an SIM card even though there was one already inserted. A few moments later it would crash again.
After this, I flashed the 4.4.2 firmware through Odin, and the same things kept happening. I'd only be able to use my phone normally for about an hour or so and then the cycle of crashing and bootlooping would start again.
I noticed that whenever I did a factory reset and wiped all data, the phone would work normally for a short period of time. But as usual, a bit later it will freeze.
Is this just a hardware problem with my phone and practically unsolvable, or is there a fix to this?
Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Yup, I tried rebooting without my SD card as well, same problem occurs. And usually what happens is it'll boot up, but becomes unresponsive as soon as I touch it. It will then reboot by itself and go into a bootloop. In the rare occasion I am able to bypass my lock screen after booting, I get a com.process is not responding and my background is all black. This too will eventually freeze and enter a bootloop.
